- Finally got around to installing an M-Tech 2 steering wheel on my E36 M3. This steering wheel doesn't have an airbag so I had to use a 1/2 watt 3.3 ohm resistor.

I don't understand about resistor. In your VDO show 3.3K ohm but in your youtube explain a 1/2 watt 3.3 ohm resistor. Which I must use?
I used 1/2 watt 3.3 didn't work.. whybdidnt he confirm if it worked or not.. click baited
How did you get the horn to work? Did you need extra parts or just the factory horn switch

Is the airbag optional on that steering wheel? Or do they all not come with airbags?
TBH, I'm not sure. I don't think I saw any M-Tech 2 wheels with airbags but there could be.

Shoot bro, I wish I knew. All I had to do was connect the two wires and mine worked just fine. Sry mang!
how about the horn, is it functioning normally? If it works normally please show the horn cable installation video and also the horn sound test.
Yup! Horn works just like normal. All I had to do was plug in the two wires that I unplugged from the factory.
Did you hide successfully airbag warning light by using a resistor? I am before replacing the steering wheel for mt2 in my e34 with airbag
Mann, so here's what happened. I did the airbag warning light trick but then I took out my passenger seat and drove the car, this turned on my airbag warning light. Then when we swapped in the S54, we took out the body control module so I can't turn reset the light now, lol. I'm 99% sure the resister works but since I drove the car without the passenger seat, that triggered the warning light that I now can't turn off, lol.
I've read some places that you need a different slip ring to make this steering wheel work? Did you encounter anything like that? I'm looking to pick up this wheel for my 97' M3
Hmm, I didn't. For me, this was a direct bolt on besides the airbag light wiring.
If I’m not mistaken I think the slip ring is required in order to get the multi function controls to work ie. volume and cruise control. Currently reading up on it myself looking to install a e46 MF wheel in my e36 I may make a video walking people through it step by step
Hey! I'm doing the same thing in my BMW E34 1993 and I have the same steering wheel as you before.I have now bought a Nardi Woodline steering wheel without airbag. I guess the only thing I need is a matching slip ring. Do you happen to have a part number on there? I wonder if it'll work for me.

you need the slipring. J Petro bought a re-wrapped steering wheel kit - probably the Ebay guy tainik - and it came w/ the horn button and slipring.

Why would you take an airbag out of your BMW? A car built for performance and safety.
...because racecar? Lol. Honestly, I preferred the way this wheel looks compared to all the others with airbags. Probably not the best reason.
30yo airbags aren't very safe...
