Thanks, this is exactly the info I was looking for. Definitely don't want a case that just has a big cut out for the camera control.
Glad it was helpful!
Why? I’m not trying to troll. I’m genuinely curious why so many people are against the cutout.
@@codylutes9655 multiple reasons
The main reason for a phone case is to protect your phone. A cutout doesn’t protect your phone.
It’s also ugly and doesn’t feel good when holding. (I have one with a cutout and am planning to switch asap)
@@codylutes9655 I think my oppositions would be 1) Those case edges will start to peel up after a while, and 2) The edge of the device seems more exposed/prone to getting damaged which could actually crack the screen if hit right.
@@codylutes9655I’m not totally against a cutout at this point. It has to be done well. I have a lot more cases collected now and with some (like Mujjo leather) it can be pretty difficult to press the button.
Be careful when buying the Spiegen. They also offer a case with the cutout instead of button. Make sure it has the “T” in the name.
100%, especially since the Ultra Hybrid has like 8+ different variations 😊
yeah i got one without the button and it has the cut out. mad i did that. might return it since i got it on amazon
Will they yellow after few months? Seems that sides are silicone
@@FuturePortal911no spigen doesn’t yellow
Spigen never fails to make a good phone case, dont know how they do it, but their cases are just always good.
Those gases are very nice and modern, but I would like to see a brown one.
True? I feel that it is a color that is becoming out of fashion and therefore out of the market.
I think I recently saw some that I think were the Vionentus Elite cases that have that color available.
There's already brown gas - farts
Not into gases.
Omg thanks for making video less than 10 minutes, not money hungry unlike other RUclipsrs, and making it concise
I have been searching for 2 hours trying to decided on a case for our new 16 pro / pro max and your video answered all of my questions. Thank you so much!
Glad this was helpful 😊
Did you buy the Spigen case? I'm unsure which one to choose between the Spigen and the Apple case, as I've seen in several reviews that Spigen cases tend to yellow after a few months. Could you share more about your experience with it?
Big thanks so far. You’re the first shown working phone in the supcase.❤
I tried both types of cases including the apple official cases and the cutout is SO MUCH BETTER! You can find it easily with your hand without looking and its much smoother and responsive. I hated the beats case the most.
the silikon case from iphone changed, its literally perfect. its coated so it doesnt stick with the dirt, you can just to blow it away
Yeah but it doesn’t last over a year.
@@supreme5998 i rather pay every year for a case than apple pay or an ugly big case, transparent cases dont even last 6 months
The leather cases were way better.
@@supreme5998 u can replace them under warranty no?
@@ishan9661 not for wear and tear. The case durability is just not good
Nice to see there are options that have a capacitive button and a lanyard anchor. Hoping that more show up.
@@deanbaird the lanyard anchor on the unicorn beetle is on the left (volume side). Spigen’s is on the right. I may get the spigen one too just to test it, but I’m really happy with the unicorn beetle case. I use the lanyard anchor with a lanyard connected to a mag grip/stand, detachable from the string with a clip. This is the best solution I’ve found for having a grip and not losing it.
Thanks for comparing the covered cases. Got the spigen after watching this vid
I have the yellow silicone case since they’ve been made. I’ve never had a lint issue with it. It stays clean color stays and I love the way camera button works.
Been waiting since Friday for this thank you so much. Glad I went with the supcase
The apple offical case just did it perfectly, ngl I never wanted to spend heaps on an official case but these new ones are just too good😊
That supcase is exactly what I’ve been looking for a unique design and nice buttons also love the textured camera control button.
@@Jorda5s glad this was helpful!
Same! They also have one that features a stand! Best bang for your buck case out there
Great video! Searched for "iPhone cases with camera button" and this was the first result!
@@beardfm Thank you, Stephen! 😊
Came to see if I missed any cases in my searching on Amazon, but it look like I’ve seen them all this far. Thanks for the quick tests with each one though!
Yaaaaas!!! I hate the cutout. A button no one asked for. I bought three cases trying to find something that feels right in my hands.
What did you end up loving the most?
Honestly I’ve been using a case with a cutout and it’s nowhere near as bad as I first expected. The cutout is where my thumb naturally rests so it adds less bulk when I’m using one hand
I’m using ESR’s clear case with a punch out for the camera control, and I’ve found it’s great for added grip when holding the phone one handed. Gives a nice groove for my thumb to rest
I’m on the opposite end. The cutout digs into my finger before it makes contact. I have to press obscenely hard or perfectly straight just to register a click.
I’m gonna shave the bevel and wait until the case manufacturers make one with a stand + camera button.
If you don’t mind the cutout cases I am using the clear MagSafe from caseology and the cutout and materials are perfect. On top of that the little bumps on the sides of it give it a good grip. I find a lot of cutout cases unless the my use slick materials like the clear case tend to be almost to sticky to use the button easily. Torras with replaceable buttons might be my second favourite.
I was literally thinking of this exact kind of video today and this pops up I love this
I ordered my unicorn beetle case after I preordered my 16PM. Been a really great case so far. The capacitive touch works well and I’m glad that button is protected.
Excellent audio for the cases being installed. Such a nice touch! Great review.
@@dayvan801 thank you 🙌
Exactly the video I was hoping for
Screenor makes pretty nice cases you should test them out
I had a Spigen clear case and so did my wife. They both yellowed in a short space of time which was disappointing. Our Apple clear cases have lasted for about 2.5 years now and have stood the test of time very well. They’re almost nearly 100% clear still.
Crazy how companies wanna charge $50 for a piece of plastic that cost them $1 to make
It‘s a bit more than $1
@@KwaPaN3Reven if it cost them $5 to make the margins are absolutely insane. No case is worth $50
Always loved supcase! I got mine’s yesterday and it’s very cool, as always
Thanks for the comparison. Got the Spigen after watching your video
Good choice!
Thans for the video.. Spigen is the best of the bunch, had 3 or 4 of their Ultra Hybrid cases and it’s definitely best clear case out there.. but the YELLOWING man.. the material feels nice to the touch but it is always noticable after 2-3 months, yeah old case look disgusting
I have the OtterBox Lumen on my 16 Pro since Friday, no scratches so far. Looks great in black on white. I like it. 😊
I have it as well for my 16 PM with no issues. I got the green one so it has a sort of glow effect when light reflects off the magsafe, and I think the natural titanium goes perfect with it!
Same! I got the pink one which goes great with the white 16 Pro. I really like it so far, so I didn’t exactly agree with the review in this case 😅
Honestly, I think it’s actually the best one in this list, at least on paper.
- It has coloured borders which helps to reduce yellowing there
- It has the capacitive camera button
- It doesn’t have the bottom of the phone exposed like the official Apple case
- Edit: I did some research, and apparently what causes yellowing in clear cases is TPU materials. However, I filtered the cases on the Apple website by hard plastic, and the only one I found was the lumen, meaning that this case shouldn’t yellow (at least as fast) either
@@johnknoop42 Do you think it would go well with the teal colour on the non-pros? I think it would look really nice and unique, but I haven’t seen the case in person.
Also, what does the MagSafe strip look like outside in the light, and when it’s darker? Thank you.
I returned my otter box clear case. The camera bump was loose. Saw it on display cases too. So pretty bad quality. It would also squeak
I bought the SUPCASE for higher protection rating, I’m going from a regular 13 pro to 16 pro max and I have small hands so it was a must at $15 on sale.
I hope Spigen puts the camera control button on their other cases!
likewise
Same, that would be a smart move on their part!
Spigen also has one more case with the button, it looks to be more rugged and protective, and comes with a built in stand.
“Tough Armor T AI (MagFit + Camera Control)”
I hope all the other big brands come out with cases that have the button. Though that probably won’t be until the iPhone 17 or 18 releases, just like what happened when MagSafe was introduced with the 12’s.
thank you for mentioning the unicorn beetle. I was just looking at it on amazon and was worried that whilst they claim camera control functionality, how well it would really work is in doubt. but thank you!
Apple: *uses sapphire crystal so that your camera button won’t have a huge unsightly cutout*
Also Apple: *puts a huge unsightly cutout at the bottom of the case*
That bottom cutout on Apple and beats exposing the speaker and usb c is horrendous you’d think after 17 years they would change it 🫢
@@MoNeYMlKE420not to mention the mute switch in previous years.
I prefer cases with the cutout at the bottom because they make swiping up easier. Otherwise, you catch the lip of the case.
@@JanGoh-jb5ge I know what you mean, but honestly, you don’t really register it after a while, and it definitely beats any potential damage to the bottom of the phone.
@@KO_Manic Sure, I'm just arguing that the cutout isn't SO unsightly and that it actually serves a function. I prefer that case design myself, having used both.
Supcase is good im using it
I’m looking at replacing my Apple silicon case because it was the best one available with the camera control at launch. I want something with a frost matte finish material now.

The Spiegen Ultra Hybrid T is, in my opinion, the best 3rd party case with the camera control button cover. I have the frosted black and the cover is black.
An opinion I can get behind! I ended up with the same case (frosted black as well). Big fan of it!
The Spigen case is definitely in first place for what im looking to buy.
But my dream spec would be their case but have all the buttons in white matching the white camera control. Also the MagSafe array in white and then hell while we’re at it the camera bump, and the lanyard hole.
Maybe the non capacitive buttons could have nice inlays with a harder material.
The Apple clear case scratches easily on the raised edges. I swapped mine for the Apple black plastic one.
Currently using the Supcase with the Spigen on the way early next month! I appreciate your review and confirming my choices!
@@BMDakota_ thank you!
How does the camera button function?
@@ross8723 they both function in a similar way. The methods used to accomplish that is just different. I biggest difference in terms of holding the phone is the Supcase Camera Control stick out of the side of the case like the other buttons, whereas the Spigen case is more flush to the phone.
I have the Unicorn Beetle Mag on my 16 Pro Max, in clear, and my goodness... it's exceptional. Their approach to the sapphire layer interaction is actually quite nice.
at least for the first month...
I had The Spigen ultra hybrid T, it had become yellow within one month, it’s because the sides are made of a different plastic, whether the apple clear case is made with a single piece of plastic which is sort of a hard plastic which won’t get yellow .
Yep, softer clear material can absorb skin oils, dirt and uv easier. That’s why I went with the black matte Spigen case. You might find these interesting.

Thanks! I don’t understand why other reviewers didn’t focus on this…. I didn’t buy own yet since I want to know how a non apple case would work
Mans is doing the lords work 🤝
Got a sup case in clear glitter styling. Looks great and doesn’t cost a lot 😋
Hi Jay! Quick question: for protection, what would you choose, the Supcase UB Mag or the Spigen Ultra Hybrid T. I want my iPhone to get the best protection possible. Thank you!
Great video I hate those cut out cases for the camera button.
Had the Spigen been in stock in the UK I would have bought this for launch day but I ended up falling back to he ESR clear case with camera guard stand which features a cut out for the camera control. I am hoping ESR bring out a case like the spigen as I am finding the stand really handy.
So basically something like the Spigen “Tough Armor T AI (MagFit + Camera Control)”? It has both the button and a stand
So helpful! Great video dude
@@davey_gravy Thank you 🙏
Great video. I ended up going with the Spigen as well
W video. Definetly considering the supcase.
Thanks for your review! Really helpful.
Looking at cases, I had this question about the button!! I’m so glad you addressed it. Imo, you should add the word capacitive to the title. The only reason I clicked the video is because the AI summary mentioned it.
Great suggestion!
Thank you for this video. I didn’t know spigen or anyone outside of Apple for that matter, even had built in button case.
Glad it was helpful 👍
Short and informative, great video.
I bought the clear MagSafe case and I would like to add some review to it here. Overall I think it's a good case, but if you're planning on getting it, do know that the buttons are fairly spongey and theres no lip on the bottom on the phone, so the bottom edge of the screen is exposed. Personally these aren't issues, but if you're a little clumsier then that protection might be needed.
@@alecstronach Very accurate. The buttons are very surprising to me, especially since Apple has better buttons on every other case they’ve made.
The lack of cutout coverage is blown out of proportion. Most cut out cases have a good indentation that protects the button from scratches and you end up missing out on a lot of great cases over a mostly paranoid fear of scratching a button on a deep groove case.
Some of my fav cases have a cutout, like the Ringke Onyx - something about it’s feels so good in hand and the cutout is great. I don’t use the camera control button for anything more than double click to launch my camera.
Superb! Really thankful for the video 😀
_Only if Spigen sold that case in my region 🤣_
My 16 Pro arrives soon and I need something fast, so I guess I'm out of luck for now 🥲
What's even weird is that, the case I have ordered before watching this video is actually a Spigen Ultra Hybrid Magfit.
I was so excited as if I've made the right choice _unknowingly_ lmao, only to see it's the *non-"T" version,* and yep, there's a "cutout" instead of a capacitive button on the side...
I guess we'll have to wait it out for more and better-suited accessories in the future, like MagSafe combo chargers and so on, along with a new case 🙂
If the unicorn was opaque, they’d already have my money
Thanks for your video!
You’re welcome 😊
Hoco clear case is the best, it's so slim, light, and cheap. Currently, I use smoke clear case with ultramarine iPhone 16.
Cool, does it have a button or a cutout?
5:17 its like that because you can use the case on other iphone models. I have 2 friends that switch cases between an iphone 15 and a 13
Lifesaver video. I like my silicone case fine but I know that they aren't very durable from experience. Excited to look into some of these other options.
@@sarahparrish7206 Glad this was helpful! I also posted an updated silicone case video, a “just shy of two weeks” update 😊
@@jaydanielstech Just took a watch! I agree with a lot of what you said. I upgraded from a 12PM with an old leather case and while I love the tech upgrade I sorely miss the hand feel from the leather. Was looking into some 3rd party leather cases and unfortunately none of them seem to have camera buttons, so I'm holding out for that i suppose.
I got the Unicorn Beetle SupCase from Amazon for my 16 Pro Max. No complaints from me so far.
@@Jus_Bernard good to hear 👍
Got the Summit Stone beats case, it’s solid. Didn’t think I would like it but it feels good in the hand, and really feels like the apple clear case from my 13 pro.
Have that exact supcase, the only con is that the edges are not textured at all, so it feels slippery in my hand
It's interesting the UB case worked for you. A lot of the reviews are saying scrolling with the camera control button doesn't work.
That is interesting. It doesn’t work as well as the rest of the cases in the video, which I mentioned, but still definitely worked. Maybe that case could benefit from the user changing the sensitivity setting for the Camera Control to higher. 🤷🏻♂️
@@jaydanielstechu can change the sensitivity?
Clear cases look and feel great, but the only downside is them turning yellow in no time. Not one brand has mastered a perfect clear case that doesn't yellow over time. Here's to hoping someone does. Regardless, great video, Jay!
Caudabe is the only phone clear case that doesn’t turn yellow over time
Honestly I just dislike how fingerprinty and oily they look over time. I have the suppose but it’s already coated it fingerprints
I’ve used a Rhinoshield clear case on my 13 Pro for about as long as it’s been out, and it hasn’t yellowed! Just dents and dings from some falls (depending on how bad they are🥴). 😅
I have a Speck clear case and mine has not yellowed. On a iPhone 12 Pro.
The apple clear cases don't yellow from my experience because they're made of polycarbonate, not TPU
I use my iPhone with a Dbrand skin and no case. In my opinion, modern iPhones are strong enough to withstand most drops. Hell, it’s even been dropped 3 feet onto concrete and been fine. No back glass or display damage.
Why doesnt spigen make the ultra hybrid t for the standard iPhone 16? So frustrating
Thanks for demonstrating Subcase's capture control is functioning

@@pmfahey you’re welcome ☺️

My silicone case has never needed lint and dirt cleaned off the case. It’s not as good as their old leather case, but I still prefer it to anything other than leather.
My problem with silicone cases in the past was always that (compared to the official leather case) they would sort of drag when going in and out of pockets. Do you think there's a noticeable improvement with the case this year?
the apple clear case has too stiff of buttons to be liked. the apple silicon case has a major flaw with the lip pealing off after months and when you drop your phone face down the lip doesn't take the damage, instead your phone screen does because the lip gets pushed back because the case slides off the phone easily. beats looks like the better case of the two but only time can tell.
Also the otterbox is insanely slippery I’ve dropped my phone so much now. I got it and I’ve had to the sides and edges with a knife just to give it grip.
That case would drive me insane. Not because it's slippery, but the charging port hole.
ESR also make a clear case that has a capacitive button can you review that one please 🙏 it’s like 17 bucks at Amazon
@@Vallejo2393 hey! I just posted a video a few days ago and it shows up in there along either a bunch of other cases :)
Beware of supcase, it made some marks/scratches with just a few days of use.

Great video, but I am still unsure as to what case to get for my iphone 16 pro. I’m mostly concerned with safety over looks. Something that will protect the screen from cracking when dropped. What is the sturdiest in your opinion
@@kimschade1656 Right now for outright protection I would say Phone Rebel Gen 6 or Mous Limitless.
