I use to work at Ruger in Newport NH. I was an inspector for the double action revolvers. The Gp100s are a great revolver. The Alaskan 454 casul was a monster of a gun aka "the Bear Killer"
Honestly, the overbuilt aspect is very nice but the triggers just arent as nice as what you get with a smith. I got the match champion as my first gun by getting it on gunbroker. Its a fine piece but it locks up if you dont let the trigger reset correctly. Never have had that problem with a smith. Theyre just more dependable.
@@rjzavala87What about the internal locks on Smiths? Been reading around and Rugers have a lock mechanism too but it's in the grip and I haven't heard of them malfunctioning. I've heard of Smith locks malfunctioning

I spend some time with my Python today. They say a man falls in love in 8 seconds. For me it was probably a little longer than that, but it was definitely within 6 shots.
Second the GP100.. Also, while the SR1911 is awesome in every way.. I would go with a Bul Armory 1911 Government if I were you. Way more bang for your buck.
Yeah as long as your attacker doesn't have anything been than a sharp stick. Giving yourself only 6 rounds is stupid. It's 2022, modern handguns can hold at least 17 rounds of 9mm. And if there's more than 1 assailant, you're literally outgunned by 5.5 times the ammunition in your revolver.
Could be wrong but this gun is like big dogs Thet seem monsters but are sweet Like i was expecting this gun to be a hella of a punch but guess what its 22. Lr 😊
I own the 4.2" 6-shot version. Out of the box, it has decent sights, comfortable but ugly rubber grip and mediocre trigger. Two springs from Wolff, fiber optics from Williams, and custom wooden grip, and this GP-100 gets on par with a Colt Python, albeit certainly stronger, and around half the price. Can't beat Ruger... :)
Very beautiful! I would also recommend watching luckygunners video on how to reload a revolver properly! No hate on how you do it, the video will just make your range trips a little bit more enjoyable! I promise 😊
When I shoot my 100 there is no recoil OK A LITTLE from the mags. This revolver mines stainless there is little recoil . It is the hammer if it was described as a tool. Also known as the TANK
Yeah I would prefer to have a python to but they're pretty high dollar and the GP100 it's very reasonably priced and she's a bad mamajama and get's the job done....
I have a question if anybody can help me with that, why does he only have to cock the hammer once and after he fired his first round he doesn’t have to anymore?
This is a double-action/single-action revolver. Pulling the hammer back puts it into "single action" mode, which only applies to one shot. Since the revolver is also a double action revolver, he can keep pulling the trigger, but he is firing in double-action mode after that first shot. Double action pulls the hammer back and releases it, while single action only releases the hammer (after he cocks the hammer back with his thumb). Some revolvers are single-action only and the hammer must be cocked with each shot. I hope that helps.
