      Thanks so much for the kind comments! And I am glad you learned a lot in the course! I do like to get to the point right away and teach the theory by using practice. Students enjoy putting what they learn into practice pretty quickly. Let me know if you have any questions.

    And now i solved it. Also you explain it all pretty good * thumbs up *

    Excellent, quick intro to importing images in InDesign. I wish you would refrain from using the term "Embed" as this term does not mean "place and image in some shape" but refers to an import technique which copies the entire image content within InDesign, as opposed to the normal "Place-Link" technique.

    Hi thanks for the great vid! I am just a bit lost at the PSD image. I am a Mac user, and don't have a PSD image, how do I make the edit my image with formats like PDFs or JPEG? Thanks :)

    • @GoodCreativeAcademy
      @GoodCreativeAcademy  4 года назад

      Hi Hanna I just saw this. PSD is a Photoshop file format. So, if you have a PDF or JPEG, those can also be placed into InDesign, no worries. We have more options with PSD like placing specific layers, but with JPG or PNG (raster formats), we can also resize the images or image frames in InDesign, too. Thanks! -Chad

    • @GoodCreativeAcademy

      It might be the ppi, how many pixels per inch? (In Photoshop, Image>Image Size). It's better to have a larger file and make it smaller than the reverse though, of course.

  • @Broockle

    So why is it when I place my image it just instantly pixelates?
    I drag it to be super big, I just click like you did, it's pixelated. In Photoshop I'd hit enter that it would give me the full resolution, is it something like that?

    • @GoodCreativeAcademy
      @GoodCreativeAcademy  4 года назад

      If an image is resized to be larger than the original dimensions (width and height) then it will pixelate, especially if it's resized to be much larger. In InDesign, if you just click instead of click and drag when placing the image, it will place it at the original dimensions. Or check the dimensions in the properties of the image. In Photoshop, if we go to Image>Image Size it will indicate dimensions and also resolution in terms of PPI, or pixels per inch. If an image is 4 inches by 5 inches and it's stretched to be 12 inches by 15 inches in an InDesign layout, it will pixelate because of the upsampling, especially if there is a lower PPI like 72 ppi for the web, but even with more detail such as with 150 or 300 ppi it can pixelate if resized a lot larger than original.

      eh........ of course I can't replicate this on good old' Adobe CS6 xD
      Here everything works the way I think it should.
      I was using the 2020 version the other day at my school. The new Photoshop is really weird too. Not sure if I'll get used to it.
      Selecting an object in a layer without selecting the layer? Blasphemous. ;D
