The tornado did tear down the trees.
This was a couple of miles from my family. I was driving home to west Lincoln when it was going on. Very scary!
Praying for everyone who was in harms way. Lord lift up everyone and help them find Peace.
Scary to see people hiding under overpasses wouldn’t be good if the tornado hit them
I honestly believe it might be the best option sometimes. Many people have survived by taking shelter under an overpass.
@@shadowwolf9503 Lots of people have also been killed by seeking shelter under overpasses. Case in point, Moore OK 1999 struck 3 interchanges and there were fatalities at all of them. This is why nobody recommends doing this anymore.
@@shadowwolf9503 not when it's directly hit by a tornado. Overpasses create a wind tunnel, increasing wind speed. If it's just around you and you're not in the direct path, it works to protect you from hail or debris. But if it's coming at you, it could be the worst decision, especially if you're in a car. There are a few great videos on it, I recommend swegle studios. Very comprehensive and interesting. He does mention exceptions to the rule, though there aren't many.
@@shadowwolf9503It’s either because the tornado is super weak or it never fully hits them. Even an F2 tornado killed someone hiding under an overpass in 1999. It’s better to just drive away or hide in an ditch

I don't understand why people hide underneath overpasses. They are death traps because the higher up off the ground you are, the stronger the winds. But if you are in a ditch, everything will primarily go over you

The guys who do this for a living are extremely brave or extremely nuts! 🤪 🤔 I have been really scared of tornadoes ever since being in the middle of one on 4/22/2020. It's a life-changing experience.
