How about a video on 3rd party campaign settings? I use the Primeval Thule Campaign Setting and it's pretty great, but I'm pretty sure no one has ever heard of it. It's very Conan, sword and sorcery.

For Children of the Dragon: Question on Homebrewed Subclasses of DnD generic casters, I am assuming. That is my question, are the half-dragon subclasses with some of the listed new magic I read from above generally follow the spells of a certain generic class, assuming that would be the DnD 5e wizard?
Question 2: If I am correct, the benefit of homebrewed subclasses are extra spells added to the wizard list with the same amount of memorized spells per level as that of a wizard?
      Thanks!

Jim and Pruitt, listening to you two has corrupted my brain into a cesspool of fantasy genres. I've been working for over a year on a homebrew setting, incorporating elements of Dark Matter, Ultramodern, Call of Cthulhu, Spelljammer, From Software games, Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Gundam, Grim Hollow, Cyberpunk... Somehow it's still coherent, and I can't wait for my players to finally make their characters. Thank you for being an inspiration for me to finally complete this monumental task.

Kobold Press' Midgard setting, and their associated Creature manuals, are my favorites.
The Midgard setting kinda reminds me of the world building style in the old BECMI 'Known World' setting from back in the day. Creating a fantasy world with cultures loosely inspired by real world antiquity.

Nord games: ultimate bestiary- Revenge of the Horde & The Dreaded Accursed.
Awesome switch up and variety of trope-y monsters that players may not treat seriously anymore. Its not just an orc with a sword and an orc with an axe as far as differentiation goes. The flexibility it gives you for creating encounter groupings is awesome. You feel like you can create believable war parties or groups of minions that aren't all just mooks cut from the same cloth.

The stuff you guys talk about with science fantasy and blurring the line between tech and magic is super interesting, and settings where artificers actually make sense always fills me with joy (I mostly play in FR and artificers just feel way out of place for me).
That being said, the other day I saw someone describe Lamordia from Ravenloft and I'm super excited to draw on that for a full setting, specifically the idea of a magi-tech society outright denying the existence of magic. They come up with plausible sounding science reasons these devices work, but if you lift the hood it's just tubes and wishes! "Of course this broomstick can fly, the decoupled isotrons are vibrated until they invoke reverse gravity and..." "Dude, it's a flying broomstick. That battery doesn't even connect to the rear"

I really like The Compendium of Forgetten Secrets: Awakening (COFSA). It's a bunch of player options with races, subclasses, spells, feats and more all designed around powerful entities each with their own lore and interactions with each other. I played a short lived campaign in a setting built around it and it was awesome. The balance is quite good, especially given the huge volume of player facing content. I don't think anyone could read through it and not find something they would find useful for their gaming group.

I was lucky enough to be gifted by one of my players the humble bundle of the entire Middle Earth 5e adaptation rule sets.
I am knee deep in prepping Tomb Of Annihilation, I hadn't really given them a look.
So I did so tonight - and all I can say is Wow! The rules for rolling on Embarkation, Terrain modifiers, Party roles while exploring and Arrivals as well as (gaining an) Audience, NPC Attitudes and Sanctuaries I can see fitting very neatly into the jungles of Chult. I was kinda dreading the Hex Crawl to be honest - but I can totally see this working.
I can well imagine adapting to Port Nyanzaru Emerald Enclaves outposts, Flaming Fist/ Red Wizard camps and even Jahaka Anchorage as Sanctuaries, ditching Long Rests as well as keeping the dreaded hex-crawl interesting and really player centric in how the expedition to locate the Soul Monger plays out.
I'm also pinching the Celestial/Lycanthropy rules from Grim Hollow because I can see those being good character arcs for two of my players.
    I've pinched piety from Theros.
And Ship Combat from Great GM's kickstarter.
I very much believe in taking what you need from wherever and making it work in your game.

The thing about all these new D&D helper products with descriptive detail is that they don't suit the type of people who enjoy player created games.
It's actually more difficult and less enjoyable to search for the per-written card than to just make it up on the fly. Imagining and creating is the excitement.
Supplements are of course a part of the game but giving the DM a full script, I would think takes the fun out of it for them.
Basically thinking, choose your supplements as needed, but most D&D type people are actually walking detailed fantasy worlds in themselves.

2:30 I hear that Magic the Gathering is going to be printing cards from Middle Earth so it is possible, and one would think highly likely that there was also negotiations to do at least one book for D&D as well!
For those who are about to ask how what Magic is doing has anything to do with D&D I would like to point out they are both owned by WotC, and going farther up the corporate food chain, Hasbro. So it is not unreasonable to think that.

5th edition Spelljammer is also some fine DnD 5e. For example, my homebrew setting is just “Spelljammer post-apocalypse.” *Eventually it will expand to Savage Worlds, I hope.*
Magic is magic, but it is often based in technology, forgotten “rituals,” and the end of the Blood War. The hard part is that my current four players accidentally created “the Four Winds” (four adventurers from the four cardinal directions of the world-map’s civilizations, with each having *ACCIDENTALLY* picked the color-scheme of one season apiece). They met on the steppes of their walled world, where Telqan Cingotk rules the Bloodpact hobgoblins/wargs and their slaves. Together, the Four Winds have slaughtered the most deceitful of the Bloodpact’s Captains, and almost a hundred warriors/wolves apiece.
The setting is ‘Pentrine’ a diamond shaped 1/20th of a secret world, hoarded by the twenty Good pantheons of the multiverse. The god of dragons has “flown out of the sky,” leaving this secret fortress world ruled mostly by mortals.
And my most recent oneshot saw 7 players play 7 dwarves, in “Moradin’s Bane,” where the one dwarf Cleric got the one-armed Prisoner Moradin as their JoJo’s Stand. Everyone else chose between their level 18 and level 20 class features. Moradin... Well, that broke the curse that the World Born Dead could implant on the Gods.
One set of Walls is destroyed east and west where an evil dragon challenged the oldest dragon in the universe for dominance.
The Four Winds oppose the last Baatazu’s dominance of the steppes, at the end of time, under threat of the World Born Dead’s return, with one PC being a tri-shadowed survivor of the last campaign in the arctic north corner of Pentrine.
I... I don’t know where all of this came from. I just hope the App editing errors keep this from being judged harshly.

Peeps should check out the Spheres of Might and Power for 5E.
Really cool way of creating characters, just released on Drivethrurpg earlier this month.

I have been using Dragonix's Monster Manual Expanded a ton. It takes the creatures from the regular 5e Monster Manual and levels them up. Great for play Levels 5-15

I enjoy the Frog God Games adventures. Tegal Manor has been around since the mid-late 70s and it still hits like a truck compared to WOTC adventures. The Blight is an awesome, dark setting for a city adventure. The physical quality of Frog God Games books is outstanding.

For the cyberpunk genre, look up Technomancer’s Textbook. It’s a very well done homebrew for any cyberpunk fans who don’t want to learn a new system. Put out by u/Newtonyd on Reddit, it’s a conversion of sorts that includes things like cybernetic enhancements, hacking, ai, drones, and vehicle combat. Would highly recommend it.

10:38 I don't care if a player knows what is in the Monster Manual but I WILL NOT allow them to have it at the table, and if they don't like that they can find a new table!!! I play in a group of people where a few of us also run games so we all have knowledge and we just have to try not to use that knowledge at the table. Doing so however is much harder than it sounds, it's not like you can turn it on and off like a light!

No Star Wars 5e? Yeah, it's technically homebrew. But those guys have spent a crazy amount of time making beautiful player handbooks, monster manuals, and such.
Personally it's my favorite way to play Star Wars

I have Prepared! for Fantasy Grounds. Out of the 12 adventures, I think I've run 5 so far, and that's off one campaign. With a little creativity, they fit -gorgeously- in a wide variety of stories.
Also: Damnation, I wasn't planning on dropping over $100 on gaming PDFs, but I know I'm going to. This stuff is too good.

Thanks for doing this! Great resource!
A video series suggestion for you?
About to run a Swamp/Rainforest part of my campaign and could only find the smallest amount of video resources on Chult to help inform me.
Really wished I could watch a WebDM video series on biomes, who lives in them, and what to do in them.
Love your stuff guys, keep your head up!

If I'm not mistaken it's been said that there will be a LoTR crossover with Magic the Gathering in the future, the idea of further collab between these streams isn't so far fetched.
