I agree. This is my favorite monk subclass flavor and mechanics wise too. But I think you can interpret the flavor from a more neutral stand point. You're studying death, you know, for more knowledge and enlightenment 😜
I think it is kindve crazy that the 6th level feature doesn't have a limit on how many times you can do it. So if some people are weak against fear you can just spam it
So its kenny as a monk. Taking polearm gets you a get off me response to set off the temp hp when lil swarmers are about. Im so gonna use pipes of the sewers or a animal summon. Multiclass to druid or ranger works well, fighter, or assassin rogue. Can make int or cha work but eh. Goin straight monk id take polearm, fey ancestry, lucky or magic initiate.
