I think a lot of people forget that when you make something for "YOU" it comes out much more amazing. Often times I find artists make things for "others" which is fine, but I think the talent shines through the most when you make something you would like!
I love this!!! I think one of the reasons these kind of journals are so popular is the delight in "finding" all the secret things. Remember those wooden puzzle boxes from years ago? These are sort of the paper/fabric versions of them. Plus the sheer joy of handling something so obviously homemade. They are the antithesis of sleek, mass-produced, sterile, store bought journals. In fact, the shabbier the better! The cotton string, the pressed flowers, the used envelopes express a joy in the preciousness of resources and history. And this journal is just chock full of life, love and creativity! Thanks for sharing Tonya!

My favorite color is alll the greens with accents of rusty/monarch orange and tiny pops of amanita mushroom red so this was sooo juicy for me 🤤 For my own I plan on something similar with a little more grunge/vintage, fibers and faeries 😁 do you have a video on how you made your envelopes look so leathery??
