Tonya- I am amazed and inspired by your work! Your work is constantly evolving and what is so impressive to me is how everything you do is so multifaceted. It's an envelope...that opens up...with pockets...and flips down...but there's a pocket behind...with a mechanical arm that pulls out and washes windows.
This is one of the most stunning journals I have seen! 😍 All that detail, colors and textures are just gorgeous. Absolutely deserves to become a family heirloom. I'm do glad this came up for me, it's wonderfully inspiring.
"This lighting is stupid." LOL I am laughing out loud. I absolutely know my lighting is stupid. My craft room has two BIG windows, but do you think the sun would come inside? Nope. And I am in sunny southern California!! I used to use a cheap ring light which was no-good. Now I have a professional graphic designer's light with a regular bulb and a ring light inside it. Terrific. (Was stored in my garage for 10 years.) But I still experience lighting issues. So in my video editor, I choose "brighten" for each clip to compensate. BTW, loved this journal. TFS. 😍😍

Brilliant! I’m going to need to watch this video several times to digest this journal. In my mind I tried to work out how you made all of the flips, and folds, and pockets…but after the third or fourth on a single side I think my mind had a meltdown, LOL. You have such an eye for mixing patterns and textiles, and for construction. By the time you got to the actual journal my thoughts went to what your desk must looks like while creating ( sometimes I have to clear things multiple times because I lose things amidst all the “junk” … and my journals aren’t nearly as intricate as yours). Thanks so much for sharing this journal flip. It has been very inspiring. I can’t wait to watch more of your videos.

Every Journal you make has such pretty detail! Are the brown envelopes paper or fabric? I’d love to see a tutorial showing us how to structure the various hinges and flips. Is that a possibility? 🙏💗
Thank you Janet! The brown envelopes are just different color Kraft card stock that I distressed with distressing inks. I can do that! But if you watch the let’s make a folio playlist I show you and the envelope journal 😘

Thank you so much! Well that’s a tricky question if I’m inspired, it takes me 2 to 3 weeks if I’m not inspired one to two months 🤣 just depends🤣 I do not make my ephemera for my journals in bulk. I usually just make it as I go along because you never really know what you want to put in the journal and I want everyone of them to be custom to be special.🥰Thank you again😘
I’m sorry if this is a silly question but I haven’t found any videos of you actually putting together specimen windows! How do you keep the flowers/specimens in place in your acetate windows? Do you put them between 2 layers of acetate and then another layer for the back side of the pocket? I’m sorry if you’ve gone over this before or if my questions are confusing 🤦🏻♀️ would just love to know your technique! Blessings as always 🤗💚🧚
It’s not a silly question🥰 I have several specimens dies. one has a back to it that I don’t have to put anything but the other ones I do use acetate on both sides. I just take a little bit of glue and put it on both sides and then put my flower in the middle and sew around or glue😍

Thank you so much!! The fern paper is graphic 45 nature, sketchbook. I don’t think they have it released anymore by graphic 45 always re-release their papers you might be able to find someone eBay.. yes, RUclips is tricky. I’m still getting the hang of it after four years trying to keep my growth and trying to grow more but I found out that consistency is definitely the way to go. I have a couple things already in the works but I can definitely reach out at a later time to see if you’re still available.😘
