I hope you enjoy the IJELEGHE Dance as much as I do. Obviously, this is the one I can most relate to. As a young girl I loved this Dance so much. Although I couldn't do this Dance professionally, learning some of the moves was part of our play time.
I have put two separate IJELEGHE DANCE GROUP together in this Video. The second Group at the end of the Video have younger girls in their Team.
I am looking forward to your comments.

Glad you enjoyed it!! This Dance was very popular during festivals and big celebrations when I growing up. It's a shame, these skills are no longer encouraged.

THE IJELEGHE DANCERS THAT I GOT TO PERFORM AT A RELATIVE'S ENGAGEMENT IN BENIN WERE VERY YOUNG GIRLS NO OLDER THAN 6YRS. THEY WERE NOT DOING ACROBATICS AS THESE FEATURED HERE WHO ARE DANCING LIKE THE IGBABONELINMI MALE DANCERS. BUT THE YOUNG GIRLS DANCED BEAUTIFULLY.
