This tough micro FPV racer is intended as an introductory drone for FPV flying. It does that job very well. *Find it here. RTF Version* amzn.to/2HcWcF6 *International orders here* s.click.aliexpress.com/e/ciDBHSrm Pros - Available with or without goggles. If you prefer, you can also use your own 5.8Ghz FPV goggles. - Designed to be tough and durable to crashes with strong carbon fiber frame, and well protected components. - 720p HD camera with built-in DVR for video recording. - 5.8 Ghz analog FPV transmitter. - 1020 brushed plug-in motors. Very easy to replace and relatively inexpensive goo.gl/fcmwUq - Lost quad/low battery alerting buzzer. - Telemetry controller warning beep on low battery. Quadcopter descends and lands on low battery (does not return to home). - 710mah 2S LiHV battery provides close to 7 minutes flight time. - Can also be bound and controlled with T8SG transmitter. Cons - FPV lag delay is very apparent, limiting its flying to outdoors in an open area. Experienced FPV pilots would not like this due to maneuver limitations imposed by the lag. However, for beginner FPV pilots who will/should be flying at lower speeds, this drone is a good entry level FPV drone for the price. - Can not change FPV channels with RTF version. Changing to other channels requires use of the monitor goggles. - No acro mode capability. Only stabilized angle mode available, but in high rate it is still very fast and challenging. - Not really for indoor flying due to its lag. Best flown outdoors in an open area. - Provided balance charger is not very good.
Thanks. I bought one of these and have had it for 3 weeks now. I bought it to help improve my very beginner FPV skills and it does exactly what I need. I am very pleased with it. I fly it bound to my Jumper T8SG transmitter (Hubsan X4 protocol and H501S sub protocol) and it flies very smoothly with this. I agree with what you said about the battery charger and I charge it with my BC-4S15D charger which only charges it up to 4.2V per cell but at least it does give a proper balanced charge. The flight time is only marginally shorter.
I also have the BC-4S15D charger, along with iMax, and an even bigger Gemini hobby grade charger. But I always find myself using the cheap BC-4S15D due to its ease of setup, and its proper balance charging. Don't know why that charger didn't become more popular, as I think that it's awesome :)
Ive chucked mine up the field a few times. Bought spare battery, props and set of motors which do fail. I can easily get 200 yds control and video range which is really good for a cheap quad. Signal is very stable at this distance....ideal first learner which zips around the field. Also bought a split charger which does the 2 batteries at the same time. Ready now for an expensive quad which i now am in the position to buy and not wreck learning.
Although it's not perfect, I agree that it's an excellent quad for beginner FPV'ers. Advanced fliers take issue with it because of the lag. But new fliers are going to be gentle in the turns, making the lag much less an issue. It's really not a racer, just a FPV trainer.
For all who oun this drone I have found decent replacement lipos the very same used for the 144001 rc car as well as the q903 rc car the 1000mah 30 c high discharge lipo they use fits nicely in the hubsans get good fast power for a solid 5-7 min just talk to me can help you can find on amazon as well there's a 7.6v 1100 mAh 60c on order will hit everyone back after the test.
Im just waiting for mine to arive.. Thx for info.. Im sure it will come in handy... Question is.. Is it worth adding goggle box and screen when i alteady own eachine vr600 goggles🤔🤔
Greetings from Connecticut! Well, after watching this video, I think it's time for me to jump from my indoor tiny whoop to this little bird! Thank you for another great review!!!
I love the design of this drone but i am glad i watched your video before spending $80 on it. Blue screen? Not good. For $45 i got a hs150 that flys great 3rd person.
I like the look of it, I got the little Hubsan X4 and I like there stuff. I already got a Bugs 3 mini, might as well get a brushless drone, plus it only £40 -50 so cheaper than X4 storm.Nevertheless I like this drone so I may eventually get it.Another good feature of this drone is it has an alarm buzzer so if you lose it you can locate it easily as the buzzer activates. I needed one the other day as my Bugs 6 flew away into a forest, couldn't find it - could of if it had a beeper locater. This may be my next purchase!
Love your vids brother! I just ordered it and can't wait to fly it, i fly line of sight because it's easy but at allmost 56 years old I've tried fpv and have as hard of a time getting it as i did going from 8 track to cassette... Lol! But all kidding aside, i really want to learn fpv because I've allways loved simulation. My favorite game on ps2 is ace combat, most of you folks are probably thinking.... This guy doesn't know how to dismount his time machine! Infact it's been my granddaughter that has helped me figure out my stupid smartphone! Now people can be mean when they see comments on utube, and if that's what your goin to do with this i wish you wouldn't call me an idiot or dumb old guy. I'm just looking for tips to fly fpv! Thanks everyone and happy 4th of july!.... Thank God, guts, guns and glory for what we have and from this veteran.... I love you all!
Yes, Hubsan does make some nice drones. I have 2. One is still lost in the trees, due to a camera malfunction. I was hoping to replace it, at wholesale, from the company, but repeated emails, and unanswered phone calls, have gotten me no response, at all ! I will not be buying another Hubsan, due to a total lack of support..
Saved up for ages and I got one of those..Waited for it to arrive..The day it arrived was a horrible wet windy day (so were the next couple of days). Finally got a nice day to get out and fly. Had it in the air for approx 3 minutes (line of sight) fell out of sky, has not fired up again. Contacted Banggood. still waiting for a reply..Totally annoyed I got a dud. and when I saved for ages to get one
Come on people, the shoutouts are for fun but that’s not why we watch his videos, lighten up. I enjoyed the review. I have been thinking about this one since it came out, now I’m definitely picking one up. After having reviewed this now what goggles would you recommend I buy that would be good for this and others.
I use and like the Eachine VR D2 goggles. I like its large screen with sliding fresnel lens for my old near-sighted eyes. Most of all I like its built-in DVR so that I can record FPV video for my reviews.
Cool drone but my antenna, all four motors, and 8 props broke in the first month, it doesn’t seem like a huge problem until you pay 20 dollar shipping and it takes a month to arrive-like I said it’s a good drone but support is just so bad
How do you charge the battery, in the manual it says in the pc terminal but my battery is not charging cause my drone doesn’t Start ..should I charge my battery into wall outlet?
Thanks so much!!!!!! I asked and you uploaded!!!! You are my favorite quadcopter reviewer and you reviewed it so your opinion means a lot in the deciding factor of buying this. Thanks! And one question....do you think the latency is because you are recording on the drone?
No, I saw the same lag whether recording or not. I think that it's because the DVR is installed in-line with the FPV transmitter. i.e the signal goes sequentially from the camera, to the DVR, then to the transmitter.
How have you been Quadcopter 101? It's been a couple years since I have been on here, but I just bought the Husban x4 storm I have not had a chance to take it out for a flight yet. I did play with it in the house for a few minutes. it seems like a pretty good little quad. I bought the version with the F.P.V. goggles included. I am going to order a better antenna for the receiver, hopefully, to get a better F.P.V. picture I'm not sure if that will work or not. I just wanted to say hey and I'm slowly getting back into the loop again soon I am ordering the DJI maverick mini or mini 2
Any idea where I could get replacement prop screws? I took one of the CCW thread props off to clean out some grass and dropped the screw and can't find it.
Yes my controller does that as well turn rt let off sticks still going right I get it you have to hold those sticks tight and adjust as you fly I thought it was a calibration issue nope it's the controller.
Do You remember what was the C rate on first battery You were using in this video? I want to buy some spare batteries for this drone and i'm not sure if 20C is enough but 45C is like twice as much in here.
Any idea if you can use this controller hooked up to your computer or phone for the training apps? I'm guessing phone is defo an option due to the bluetooth
I am new to drones and I grabbed one of these drones. Should I be worried that the transmitters left analog stick has no resistance on the Y axis? (Up and down)
Sounds like you're used to flying drones with altitude hold. This is a full manual flier, without altitude hold. Thus it does not have spring centering of the left throttle stick. No resistance is normal, and actually desired, on such a drone. This gives you full and immediate control of the throttle as opposed to an altitude hold type drone which can take several seconds for throttle input to be recognized.
Hi just like to say how much I enjoy your videos and truthfully I did buy 2 Drones following your reviews. Just watched your H501c review which I think Iam buying. What I want to know can I use a 5.8g FPV with this drone also do you know if the HT011a transmitter which I just bought would this be suitable for the H501c. I did buy a H501m to go with the new transmitter unfortunately I had to return it owing to a bad drone and the transmitter that came with the drone. Really wanted that drone. I have a H501ss which is brilliant. Please try and help regards Irvine
The HT011A is mainly intended for the Hubsan WiFi fliers that use the X-Hubsan app. Although the H5501C may be capable of binding at 2.4Ghz with HT011A controller, it would not provide any advantage in terms of range over its provided stock controller. But yes, you could simply add a cheap AIO camera to the H501C to add FPV capability. You would also need 5.8Ghz FPV goggles or receiver monitor to be able to view the video. The drone's GPS antenna is under the metallic silvery dome (H501C), or gold dome (other H501's). Do not cover the metallic dome with anything as the GPS must have a clear upward view.
Thanks for the video, I have a question. I´m currently flying a DJI drone as I have photography as a hobby and I very much enjoy flying it. However, I´m thinking in getting some training with FPV drone racing, what are the main differences in terms of controlling, difficulty of flying and overall flight experience? is there any specificmodel that you would specifically recommend? Many thanks,
This is a good intro drone to experience FPV flying. But eventually you will need to transition to unstabilized acro mode flying vice stabilized angle mode which this drone is only capable of flying. To do such, I strongly recommend practicing using a simulator program such as FPV Freerider fpv-freerider.itch.io/fpv-freerider
The H122D uses a 2S battery, and powers the drone via its 2S balancing plug. Most 7.4V 2S LiPo batteries have a balancing plug. So, you'd just need to find a 2S LiPo battery of similar size to your original battery. See this www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?3017750-Help-with-hubsan-h122d
Hello I’m sorry to bother you , but someone step a video where they get the Hubsan h502e working with the GPS watch and the follow me featured work omg it was so awesome ! You’ve got to try again plz , I’m doing the Antenna mod and the camera adjustments ! Thanks big dog!
Yes, please provide a link. I would be very curious to see what he did. Note that RUclips will temporarily block the link as spam. But I will be able to see, review, and approve it.
No as this is an analog video signal, it would not work directly with your digital phone. But there is an option to convert the analog signal to digital for viewing on your phone bit.ly/FPV-Phone2
No, this drone is meant as an introductory drone to FPV racers. FPV racers do not use digital WiFi for their FPV video, thus no phone app or phone will work with this drone. Instead, FPV racers (and this drone) use old fashioned analog TV video signal. This signal can only be viewed with a dedicated FPV monitor screen or goggles with built-in 5.8Ghz video receiver. The reason is that when a digital FPV video signal gets weak (such as when the drone is at distant range) the video signal will blank out on the viewing screen. Going totally blind like this, even for a short moment, can be disastrous if you're flying a high speed racer. In comparison, old fashioned analog signal will get scratchy, but will not totally blank out upon weak signal. This makes the old fashioned analog signal much safer for use with FPV racers.
Quadcopter 101 oh great thanks for your reply I just bought the le-idea7 gps drone. Which dose not move even close to the way this one dose . This seems like a fun quad to fly and is cheaper I spent 130 on it. Might return. But I also just had a disastrous fly away with the hubsan s501 didn’t know how reliable the company . They were supposed have an office in Cali. But they never answered . Could only email someone in shanghai .Thanks again
Quadcopter 101 yes it flies, when it takes off, i have to pull right stick back to make it stay hovering but as soon as i let go of the stick, it flies forward by itself.
Try this. 1) place the drone on a flat and level surface. 2) Move and hold the left stick to the right. Simultaneously wiggle the right stick until the drone's lights flash. 3) Try taking off and see if the problem has been corrected.
Hubsan H122D motors are not reliable. I have changed them 5 times, and I'm afraid to fly this quad over water, trees, etc. It can brake engine any time. Any time!
I didn't know u could only win a shout out once in s life's,,, in California it's 6:00 am and I set my alarm to be the first,,, like today,,,,, I'll just turn my notifications off and u suscribe..... thank you..

Do you recommend any charger?
Im a noob when it comes to fpv drone. How do i pair this with other goggles like eachine goggles?
nullpointer66 you cant
nullpointer66 unless you put other ones on them

Hey Hiram it's harry i'm also from Connecticut im wondering if you know of any drone clubs near the valley derby,ct.area?
Thanks for your reply it's a pity after my H501m was unable to get GPS and Wifi so I returned the drone thx again
I was so waiting for this one

Have one even if its not a beginner fpv racer this thing is durable I've crashed mine so much and still haven't changed the props...👍
I have a Hubsan H501A X4 and it uses a balance charger so I can use that battery for a longer flight time.

Quadcopter 101 thanks buddy!
I am looking at getting a race drone this looks like a good way to start
still flying mine after 3 months , pretty reliable

I found if you fly them near a cell tower ..the camera will go out
I got a shoutout!!!!!!!
Please review snapper7!!
Micro brushless 1s aluminium frame!
It flies very fast and stable also cheap😄😄
How much does it Cost?

Does the hubsan h122d have sound when recording?
Hello, quadcopter101. Do you recommend this or the xk x130t ? Thanks
Want to buy one for my first fpv drone
Nice review by the way!
LiHV cells take a slightly larger voltage (4.35 V/Cell) so my guess is the charges is OK?
Would that be strong enough to carry Little camera like a rylo 360 camera, GoPro??
No, sorry. Too small.
Cool it's got an onboard dvr!

Puh this beast is fast for beginners. Is the controller fine enought to fly accurately and first time slowlier?
I get 200 meters plus range not bad with a rc lipo 1000mah 30 2s lipo 7.4v
Always enjoy your video very educational 💪😎👍
Can you connect the camera to the phone?
Nice but the controlers sticks culd have been better.
Yes my controller does that as well turn rt let off sticks still going right I get it you have to hold those sticks tight and adjust as you fly I thought it was a calibration issue nope it's the controller.
Hi, I have a question- if I buy decent fpv googles- do I get rid of lag while flying this drone? Or I need to replace transmitter as well?
How fast is this drone pls reply
Edit: could you connect eachine goggles to this drone
Do You remember what was the C rate on first battery You were using in this video? I want to buy some spare batteries for this drone and i'm not sure if 20C is enough but 45C is like twice as much in here.
30C. Although out of stock, the following has more info on the original battery, including dimensions. amzn.to/2WachVV
Any idea if you can use this controller hooked up to your computer or phone for the training apps? I'm guessing phone is defo an option due to the bluetooth
Nope. Sorry, but this drone does not use an app. It uses analog 5.8Ghz FPV video only.

Quadcopter 101 thanks for the information, I will look into a simulator, what controller would do you recomend?
This one. Works with most drones ruclips.net/video/ksEbk53NQPQ/видео.html

Quadcopter 101 thanks for the info!
How mach time the battery working?
6;08 hi thanks for this Video, I'm wondering do you have the link of this Lipo Battery, The Original battery I'm not happy with, thanks
@@Quadcopter101 Thanks Man,
What app do I use for fpv on my phone?
This drone does not use an app. You will need to separately purchase 5.8Ghz analog FPV goggles or monitors to view the video from the drone.
Can this handle a GoPro on it without any issues.
Nope.
Where do u find footage from the camera?
What good cheap begginer dvr goggles would you recommend for this drone plss reply
Any of the cheap Eachine goggles would work with this.
Hello I’m sorry to bother you , but someone step a video where they get the Hubsan h502e working with the GPS watch and the follow me featured work omg it was so awesome ! You’ve got to try again plz , I’m doing the Antenna mod and the camera adjustments ! Thanks big dog!
Do you know how they did such (firmware update?)? It wouldn't work for me with the H502E.
No firmware update he just took his time somehow it was slow but it worked let me try to get a link copy on there ok ,
Yes, please provide a link. I would be very curious to see what he did. Note that RUclips will temporarily block the link as spam. But I will be able to see, review, and approve it.
Can you see the camera footage via app instead the monitor? If yes which app?
Nope. The FPV TV signal is analog and can not be viewed using a smartphone. Only can be viewed with 5.8Ghz video monitors or FPV racing goggles.
No as this is an analog video signal, it would not work directly with your digital phone. But there is an option to convert the analog signal to digital for viewing on your phone bit.ly/FPV-Phone2
Great video I’m subscribed 👍
Do I have to register?
Hello thanks for video. I’m confused can you use any type phone on the fpv mount for the video. I’m assuming there is no app for this non Wifi quad?
Thought you could buy a 5.8 g adapter for your phone ,long as the phone has on the go usb capable
are there other cheap batteries that fit that drone or only the original?
Please watch the battery discussion in the above video from 4:32 to 6:40 into the video.
Lost signal beeper.. that is a good idea
i have done the calibration but the my drone moves forward. is this the remote issue? if so, how do you reset the remote?
Can it fly? Does it take off, or does it slide along on the ground?
Quadcopter 101 yes it flies, when it takes off, i have to pull right stick back to make it stay hovering but as soon as i let go of the stick, it flies forward by itself.
How are you starting the calibration?
Try this. 1) place the drone on a flat and level surface.
2) Move and hold the left stick to the right. Simultaneously wiggle the right stick until the drone's lights flash.
3) Try taking off and see if the problem has been corrected.
Quadcopter 101 i did this and the result is the same sir.
It looks neat..
Is that googles can use to an other drone fpv?
Only those that use 5.8Ghz analog FPV. However, these goggles will not work with WiFi FPV fliers.
Can the eachine vr006 goggles connect to this
yes
What is the range on it?
Great video!!
What s to he lipo??
Would you think is possible to change out the front camera and put a better one like a AIO. Also will the pro duo Venom charger charge the battery.
please what is onboard DVR ?
Yes, this drone has a built-in DVR.
DVR means "Digital Video Recorder". In other words, the drone can record in flight video.
Is it compatible with the mjx LCD screen fpv please ? :)
Yes works with mine
Nice review
I just got one of these delivered and it was DOA:-(
Where did you get it from?
Does this quad have betaflight
Nope.

Does it have auto level?
Yes it does.
what goggles are you using.
He's using the ones that come with it
It's actually a small screen that you can add to the goggles or the controller
Does it fly acro?
Nope. Sorry.
man that thing has ZERO range
Its 5.8ghz
Speed?? Rpm???
About 70 kmh
Hubsan H122D motors are not reliable. I have changed them 5 times, and I'm afraid to fly this quad over water, trees, etc. It can brake engine any time. Any time!
LAST (he meekly whispered after waiting HOURS just to be safe-smile)
