    As a physician, my most significant concern with the rampant use of PRP, especially for hair loss is that I fear that sooner or later a provider would inadvertently inject PRP into a patient with nascent skin cancer (BCC. SCC and worse yet melanoma). Nowhere I have heard that a hair restoration specialist is a dermatologist or have asked his/her patient to first get a complete scalp examination by a dermatologist to make sure that he is free of any skin cancer. Injecting PRP into or near a skin cancer, or any cancer for that matter, would result in catastrophic results. I urge all hair restoration specialists to proceed with caution, financial and patient-driven pressure notwithstanding, and to completely ruled out any cancer in the scalp before proceeding with this procedure.
    I grimace to think that such a tragic case will be forthcoming in the future. Cheers.

    Emcyte prp is the gold standard in PRP, a lot of people getting PRP sessions and not finding results is because clinics mostly use cheap kits or machines so they can maximize profit, if you want to get result make sure the clinic uses the best quality PRP machines and kits like Emcyte or Arthrex Angel system

      Some says weekly basis dermaroller works as same as prp? Both of them releases growth factor? Is it true??

    • @TankerShell
      @TankerShell 2 года назад

      @@bestrong1955 Both have different mechanisms of action, Microneedling will make controlled injury to the skin (at least in some situations) that can stimulate the production of growth factors and inflammatory cytokines that promote skin healing and possibly hair growth.
      The second use of microneedling is to increase the efficacy of drugs (Minoxdill for example) They did a study, half the patients received daily minoxidil, and the other half of the patients received weekly dermarolling sessions (using a 1.5 mm dermaroller) in addition to minoxidil treatment. Results showed that patients using a dermaroller achieved greater benefits than those using minoxidil alone.
      Also, I would recommend waiting 2 weeks between microlending sessions to let the skin heal completely and minimize the risk of scarring.
      Lastly, I wouldn't recommend using a normal dermaroler device because it will create excessive damage to hair fibers, my recommendation is to use the Derminator 2 microneeling device.
      Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) refers to the use of a patient's own platelet cells from their blood to stimulate hair growth. Platelets are a part of our blood cells and they are rich in various growth factors and cytokines that have the 'potential' to stimulate hair growth
      PRP is not helpful for all patients with hair loss but is helpful in a proportion of individuals with hair thinning. In carefully selected patients, current estimates suggest that a benefit is attained in at least 30-40 % of patients.
      Of course, the result from PRP requires a good machine, kit, and technique to get the maximum efficacy from it, Using microneedling in the same session with PRP will probably get a better result.
      Both of these treatments are considered optional or second-line treatments to be used with the main treatments (for Androgenetic Alopecia DHT blocker whether it was finasteride or dutasteride is the most important thing, Minoxidil topically or orally...etc) of course all of these should be discussed and taken under doctor supervision as they have their own side effects and the doctor is the best to recommend the right dose and to monitor everything closely to minimize side effects and have a clear plan for your specific hair loss type and severity.
      Sorry for keeping it this long but I wanted to cover everything about your question.

    Great video doc. I have been doing PRP treatment to my patients in my clinic in London for the past 5 years. As a fellow doctor I endorse all what you’ve mentioned in your video. I also wanted to add that using a mesotherapy gun is very effective way of injecting PRP to scalp. As it has a setup in millimetres. So you can select what depth the needles goes inside the scalp. Mostly 4-5mm. Varies between patients. It’s absolutely painless and delivers equal amount of the PRP each time we inject. Furthermore PRFibrin is great for acne scars.

Apparently some doctors actually numb your scalp properly, so ask questions. Also, make sure the centrifuge is high quality. Finasteride in combination with minoxidil gave me much better results. Lastly, ensure your doctor is incredibly skilled, preferably a doctor only focusing hair treatment. Some Dermatologists only do PRP as a part of their Botox practice.

Always ask your doctor if prp is something they do it regularly and if it is pain free and keep in mind you have to keep doing it. I did 3 sessions and I could barely see any increase (My wife says no increase at all). Too expensive for a min result, doesn't worth it.

    Just like we brush our teeth everyday as a preventative, the same should be done for hair loss in males, we should introduce pro-active measures before hair loss has a chance to take hold. These measures should include such thing such as Capixyl or Procapil. I use a formula which utilises both of these products and I have successfully turned around my mild thinning. My father and all the males in my family had lost their hair by my current age; I on the other hand have a full head of hair with no sign of further thinning. I believe the preventative measures are the answer.

      I believe there is more research and efficacy for PRP. Mesotherapy involves the administration of superficial injections. They usually contain diluted drugs such as minoxidil, vitamins, and nutrients. While PRP treatment involves injecting platelet-rich plasma derived from an analogous blood sample from you into the affected areas of the scalp. You should do research of studies from NIH or other medical sources. Be better off using Rogaine (minoxidil) is my understanding than mesotherapy. I’m no doctor but I question why your dermatologist would recommend. May not have equipment for PRP.

    • @orangefox5121

      It is a mesotherapy but instead of HA or PDRN you use PRP or PRF. The depth is about the same - 4 mm. There is a liquid PRF which Dr Linkov omitted in his review, PRF does not come in clot form only.

    I had this and spent lots of money. It did nothing. It may have even made my condition worse. I have a friend who works for a medical equipment company (name you'd all know). When I told her about my experience, she said "I wish you'd told me you were going to do that. It never works." I said "They said it only works 70%of the time." She said "More like 7%."

    Is it true for diabetic patients that any bodily hair loss besides the head is not treatable due to the blood flow loss? IE: Legs, arms, etc.

    • @Lootzuh
      @Lootzuh 2 года назад +2

      I can't say for sure with body hair loss, although i'd assume it would be the same (why would blood in your head be too much different to body), but the bloodflow theory for head hairloss is a myth that's been disproven already. It's one of those tales that people believe for hairloss similar to the old "hairloss is from your mothers side", which we know is obviously not true. I think for hair loss due to lack of blood flow in the body, it would have to be extremely severe to the point of loosing a limb for you to loose body hair due to lack of blood.

      @@Lootzuh no. Sorry. My doctors all say the same thing. I only asked here in case this doctor might now done new technology that could provide miracles. Lol. you’re head heart is closer to your heart. With diabetes, the hair can no longer grow bc the blood supply dies off. So for example if you took transplanted hair, it wouldn’t take bc you can’t create blood flow where it has died. I asked my doctor bc I used to have fairly hairy legs and now there’s hardly any. Especially below the knee. And I have done my best to take care of my blood sugar but it has still affected blood flow in my feet and legs.

      Okay I did a bit of digging and seems like you're right when it comes to diabetes and body hair loss. Apparently it can cause deposits within blood vessels throughout the body. However, it does seem this wouldn't effect hair growth on the scalp. Although diabetes does seen to have the potential to cause forms of alopecia which could effect the head hair. Hope your condition eases for you🙏

  • @scottgarbo1288

    After watching this entire video, I still have no idea if this procedure restores/regrows hair. This is kind of the usual double-talk around hair loss treatments that never really say if they regrow hair. I can't help but think, if this procedure really worked, there would have been a lot of before-and-after pictures.

      He does the procedure. It does work but like everything else not for everyone. I’ve done it and it really helped me. It all depends on cause of hair loss, if follicles have permanent scarring etcetera. It’s not cheap and varies depending on where you live. I live in Indianapolis and it is $700 per session.
