It was off by at least 5-10mph so it probably did closer to 45-50.
Placing a phone on metal to run GPS is a NoNo since it interferes with the signal. That's why you saw it lag at 2, drop to 0 and then slowly climb or quickly jump to a higher number as the train picked up speed. The metal all around the phone was glitching the signal.
