Good try on the ring. The Excalibur 2 doesn't nearly have the depth that a Garrett max or Manticore has. Also having a VDI scale would help narrow down the targets. Waves and tides can bury a ring two feet deep in a weeks time. I also think the ring would be made of platinum which makes it slightly heavier and you should be able to set your discrimination on your detector to only hit on platinum, or pretty close. Back in the nineties my parents sold metal detectors and my mom did a lot of water detecting for most jewelry. I remember her and I finding the same 10k ring three times, but not in water though. The wife and husband would fight and she would always chuck the ring. After the third time, they got a divorce! 😂
