Well! Sir to my professional experience the Nikon Z8 is an another big specification camera designed primarily for commercial photo shooters and video shooters with big budgets. It packs high video specification too but then we need additional companies system tools to handle or get a perfect video shot. example like: gimbals, external monitors, high GB type B cards etc. -This camera has no flip out screen suitable for capturing videos from all angles. - Z8 is heavy to put on a gimbal with Nikons big size S glass (please note: Nikon is the only company that said in their press conference that they will focus on big bodies in future). -8K internal Raw means with such a high capacity above 300GB type B card will fill in 15 minutes of shooting. Above 300GB type B card cost in India approx. Rs. 65K alone. So, if we consider to capture video only with Nikon Z8 then it's an expensive camera to invest just for videos. Suppose in India if I buy Z8 then I should be ready for additional costs like: -S glass is expensive and in rating second to Canon in Indian market place to buy considering cost. -8K means I have to buy type B CFExpress card for Raw and minimum capacity card will cost approx. Rs. 37K and will fill in 8 minutes of shooting with high data rate. If I ignore high data rate for 8K then what is the use of buying this expensive camera. -4K means it requires v90 cards minimum for high data rates codec shooting which is also costly matter of Rs. 18K for minimum capacity v90 cards in market. -Need to invest in special gimbals that can handle heavy weight of body with Nikon S glass means for video stability there is an additional cost. have tested Z9, videos are jerky no matter how many types of methods you try holding in your hands. You need a monopod at least which is additional cost too. Don’t go behind hyped internal IBIS. It is good in photos with long zoom lenses. -Type EN15 C battery is expensive alone and with mix photo and video it last less than 1.5 hours in practical. Now, I understand the secret of 2 hours Z9 recording limits. We will never reach to 2 hours either with memory card and also with battery too for video recordings without PD chargers units. So, Z8 is an expensive investment. Start using with all the Z8 items will cost more than 4.5 to 5 Lakh alone. Which is near to cost of a good car approx. in second hand market in India. Even myself not excited with this Z8 camera as Nikon is not catering all the market customers. Sony,Canon,Fujifilm,Panasonic are on correct path. They have different categories of camera lines catering amateurs, photo shooters only, video shooters only and hybrid shooters only. So, what we want as per our requirement we can buy. Nikon is the only company focusing differently. And that is the reason why we and even me had started using less Nikon cameras. I was a Nikon shooter earlier but now Nikon doesn't fulfill my needs. No matter how hard I try to love this system but it always make me feel that I am holding a photo camera. Nikon should make two lines. One for photo shooters with non flip out screens with mid level video features and another line for video shooters and hybrid shooters with video features and with flip out screen. Note: Flip out screen is not for vloggers only. It has many uses as Canon, Sony, Panasonic even Fujifilm had started using in their high video specs cameras like HS2S and H2S. I hope at least with next Z7M3 or Z6M3 or Z5 M2, Nikon gives us a flip out screen or two lines cameras catering photo, video and hybrid shooters. Packing all features in one body and demanding high cost to buy and not requiring all features by us (where additional accessories cost involved is also a reason) is not we want.
Great analysis! They have made the Z9 affordable, though it is still out of reach for many. Soon, the Z7 Mark III with 61 MP and the Z6 Mark III with 33 MP and advanced video features will arrive to generate more options at variable price ranges.

Packing heavy video specs without a flipout screen makes Z8 a photo camera and less practical for all angle video shooting. I don't know why Sony A1 is not getting updates or atleast after Z8 launch Sony should push Alpha 1 updates and will make direct competion to Z8 as it has capability to output 16 bit raw output with parallel 4k internal card recording. Future is about ease of use (example small size camera and flipout screen), 422 or 444 All I intetnal codecs and Raw recording internally capabilities with per GB storing cost or media storage efficiency.

So, they are playing a safe game of having various types of cameras under various price brackets and they are doing well. Nikon have no cinema line camera and that actually reflects in their line and design too. Focus is more towards photo first, video and hybrid is second and third option. Nikon is playing old stratergy to bring one headline camera first and then in future bring new form factors cameras and less features or reduced features cameras from their headline camera. This is the stratergy where Canon is beaten by Sony. Sony is same in all bodies but they focus on features what customer wants in various price brackets.Canon in recent yeras is also following same Sony stratergy but different in lens side. Canon left competion with Nikon .Their cometion is with Sony.That is why so many Sony and Canon cameras in 2 years because of their competition. Nikon is following differently.Many of the features in Z9 and Z8 are never to be used .Looks good on paper and in advertisements.In practical situation it is different. Why to invest in that camera which looks good feature packed and looks in reach but once bought in real life, what are the scenarios we really gona use them. Say 8K Raw internal is good but B type cards in near future will be too costly.Say on 5 year timescale when Z8 will be 5 year old and then also B type cards will be not cheap and they will shoot maximum 15 mins with high data rates. New, technologies will come in near 5 years. So, in practical this Z8 camera even Z9 camera is for high end budget creators. If I consider all factors than z8 is a costly investment from which I can't exit easily on 5 years roadmap. So, I can afford Z9 and Z8 easily but will not invest as it's a costly factor in accessories just to shoot video.Photo is easy for all cameras now a days so photo is not a factot for me. Z9 and Z8 photo cameras first and many of us know this. Z8 and Z9 will be more practical if they introduce external SSD recording for Raw.
Just imagine when Nikon will give firmware updates to this canera, this will be more unbeatable by the comoetitors, because we know how nikon gave mindblowing updates to Z9 in just under 6 months they completely changed the camera by giving it updates. Really want to buy this camera.
After so many updates their AF still lags and it gets confused under difficult situations 😢 spending 3lakhs and not getting the desired AF performance 😢

Sorry sir it was late night so I forgot to ping u after the upload, The AF speed of Nikon Z8 can be measured in a way that the sensor scanning speed is 120 AF calculations per second, thats why Nikon unlocked the 120 FPS @ 11MP mode to showoff its 3D AF tracking performance. If we compare with Canon fastest camera, the Canon R3 can perform up to 60 fps of AF calculation and tracking. But Canon unlocked speed of MAX up to 195fps.. but it doesn't mean that in each frame Camera is able to do AF calculations, roughly the AF will be refreshed in every 3-4 frames
