    Love your version of "Misty", Jimmy! Those chords and phrasing, especially when you got it swinging, was just a treat! Keep it going with these videos with your wisdom and your playing. Love it!

    You’re probably the best guitar teacher around, even though I don’t play jazz I watch all your videos and always learn something I can use, music wise or not. Thank you very much. Have a good day.

    Yep. Misty. Digging the extended notes in the chords.

    I still come back to these videos if I start feeling sorry for myself and need a good kick in the ass. Maybe it was where I was raised by my grandpa. He passed far too early in my life, but I miss that no excuses attitude. It doesn't seem to fit too well in today's world. Everyone is allowed to have excuses and blame their mediocrity on everyone else. I went to a Frank Vignola gig and he had very positive things to say about you. Real legend from an era where musicians were real musicians and music was real music.

    I couldn't agree with you more Mr Bruno, everything is so dumb down it's pathetic, & so sad!!! I do like playing jazz/fusion & Rock & blues, I also live playing classical/flamenco guitar, so when it comes to Real Jazz, I agree, the guitar should Never be distorted, that's like having Andres Segovia play a beautiful peice on his classical guitar through a loud Marshall stack!!! It doesn't work!!! Enjoy you videos & you sharing you life experience, we need straight shooters like you to teach reality, thanks, stay safe & God Bless!!!

    Hey Jimmy, I got one of your lesson DVDs several years ago. You truly inspired me..... to put legs on my guitar and use it as a Coffee Table. Just kidding... It's an End Table. Seriously, I play ALOT of Jazz today, using things I learned from you! My Road days, of doing it for a living, were Rock, Blues and Country, which I haven't played in some time now. I play for FUN, now, as you were saying, and I Love it! Thanks for being Jimmy Bruno! May God Bless You with His Peace!

    I had the bright idea to do some courses at community college to save some money on my degree from university. I just decided to pay the higher price at university when in the community college course over half of the students failed the simplest exam and pissed and moaned all kinds of excuses why. What did the college do? They curved the shit out of the grading scale so only the 3 worst students failed. At university the professors are tenured and don't give two shits if you slack off and fail. That's your problem. There is no way those community college students left career ready. That was 10 years ago when I graduated. The universities may be curving the grading scales by now lol.

    In honor of Jimmy’s enthusiasm for TV news, sports, and weather, several Philly TV stations are competing for the right to have a Jimmy Bruno mural painted on the outside of their building. Why should Eddie Lang be the only Philadelphia-area jazz guitarist to have a mural?

    Chuck Finley, a Jimmy Bruno mural?
    Hell, how about a statue?
    If Philly can afford a Rocky statue, why not a Bruno statue?

    • @chuckfinley3542
      @chuckfinley3542 5 лет назад +1

      A statue is a better idea, as long as we’re sure that Jimmy didn’t fight for the South in the Civil War, like Robert E. Lee.

    Beautiful touch of misty Jimmy .
    These kids don't have the chops for the present-day style of Jazz they don't have a Teacher like you Jimmy to show the New Dao of Jazz. One way on looking at it These Kids playing Basic old style of Jazz. They're learning 1+1 is 2 they can't do Algebra & Geometry . learning the basic music .Hopefully they don't get stuck in the old ways on playing. But Old time music is refreshing to hear at times.
    Like all Artistic endeavors one must make their own not a carbon copy of their teacher teacher teacher

    that was a fun video. great mix of some interesting chords substitutions and hilarious talk. what if you played like you speak? would I like the music that came out? I think it would be a bit rougher than the beauty of your music. Maybe music isn't for such talk? I don't know, what do you think?

    Also, why did Frank call E flat, the people’s key? What’s the inside joke?

      Hey Joe, the restaurant had the first reservation at 5 and the last at 9:30 for Valentine's. They wanted me to play extra. So I lasted until 10:30 but could do no more. Always get paid though. If Jimmy walked in he'd probably point at me and say "You suck!" HA! 😁
