This sim was a complete random find. Steam's algorithm generated it, I did a bit of research and immediately was hook before I ever downloaded the demo. Yeah it had Star Trek vibes, but that's not what sold me. It was the exploration and how he's designed that system. I spent some time watching his recent dev commentary on RUclips and was really impressed. Financially I can't donate, but word of mouth is just as powerful. That's how a game grows. So many people keep making comparisons to Starfield, but in my book this sim is on a new level.

I also just found the game several days ago...partly due tk this video. I tried out the demo and was immediately hooked. I became a backer and have been roaming about the galaxy since...and its not even close to being fully functional yet. Theres so much potential here...thanks for the video!
In reference to the piano in the VIP lounge, Dan has said the idea will be to support MIDI keyboards that plug into computers, so you will be able to play a real keyboard for the crew, so you can role play as a band etc.
I had never heard of this game....and I just downloaded the demo. As a roleplayer who adores "star trek bridge crew" in VR...I absolutely LOVE the concept of this. I'll have to contact the devs as I do sound and music design. DEFINITELY will be tossing some funds at the kickstarter next payday.
In relation to Crew Habitation, I believe Dan has said it will be a room per crew member. Players will be able to take items from around the ship/alien worlds and put them in their cabin (with object permanence). So you can customise your personal space to a degree.

Not cosmetics...just got half way through this. I have to pay for a chance to help design a ship once? What's their track record for designing fun and realistic universes to explore? Due to the complexity of the ships the developer is limited in how they can implement ships currently. He has talked about designing a modular ship to allow for more meaningful customization of the ship allowing for more player freedom. That is a goal that is for further down the road as it presents several challenges.
