    In my youth I was the biggest sinner in the world. In my old age I weep and kick myself for so offending my God. Forgiveness is so powerful.

      That's correct not to forget, I believe, (in order to learn from the experience) because when it's over, inevitably it's our forgiveness that is our reward.
      "In God We Trust", means trusting in him to balance the scales. In my experience, I almost never find-out how the scales get balanced with the other party, (I only have my forgiveness of the party to comfort me)

    There are two reasons for forgiving: the first is that each time we do so, we stop the damage that the hurt of the offense can cause; the second is that granting forgiveness will be for us the assurance of being forgiven by God when we offend Him, as described in the following verse: (Matthew 7:12) ''... forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.''

    • @n4ughty_knight
      @n4ughty_knight Месяц назад +6

      There's another reason. According to the Didache " But love those who hate you, and you shall not have an enemy." which essentially means that by forgiving others, you don't make a lot of enemies.

    Father, in my life I have found times when it's difficult to forgive. After getting Baptized Catholic at age 42; I learned to ask Mother Mary to forgive in my heart for me and with me. What a difference! She is the queen of Heaven and Earth and also the Queen of forgiveness!!! Asking Her help makes everything so much easier for me. I also ask Herr to love in my heart for me and with me; especially Her Son when I am about to receive Him, truly present in Holy Communion.

      surely his goodness and mercy shall daily attend us

      Praise to the Lord! O let all that is in me adore him!
      All that has life and breath, come now with praises before him.
      Let the Amen sound from his people again;
      gladly forever adore him.

      so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him;
      12 as far as the east is from the west, so far he removes our transgressions from us.
      13 As a father has compassion for his children, so the Lord has compassion for those who fear him.
      14 For he knows how we were made; he remembers that we are dust.
      15 As for mortals, their days are like grass; they flourish like a flower of the field;
      16 for the wind passes over it, and it is gone, and its place knows it no more.
      17 But the steadfast love of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear him, and his righteousness to children’s children,
      18 to those who keep his covenant and remember to do his commandments.
      19 The Lord has established his throne in the heavens, and his kingdom rules over all.
      20 Bless the Lord, O you his angels, you mighty ones who do his bidding, obedient to his spoken word.
      21 Bless the Lord, all his hosts, his ministers that do his will.

    God loves all his children....
    Matthew 18:10-14
    The Parable of the Lost Sheep
    10 “Take care that you do not despise one of these little ones; for, I tell you, in heaven their angels continually see the face of my Father in heaven. 12 What do you think? If a shepherd has a hundred sheep, and one of them has gone astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine on the mountains and go in search of the one that went astray? 13 And if he finds it, truly I tell you, he rejoices over it more than over the ninety-nine that never went astray. 14 So it is not the will of your Father in heaven that one of these little ones should be lost.

    the problem too is hypocrisy. That is taking a stance where the other is full of self indulgent "illusion" & need for repentance (aren't they pitful!) but the self (or someone like it) despite their own many illusions are apparently of a different sort or quality and of a matter, usually in a political moment, to be explained away (many times as "love") but whose judgement is a mere double standard advancing an agenda.

    Ohhh..! I never thought about random angry thoughts... or like something I forgave long ago returns. I get so irritated thinking I'm forgiving wrongly... It could be evil trying to get me to add to the attack... of that person or persons.
    I have tried to get into the habit of saying... "For this situation.. I'm sorry for my bad parts (I'm never perfect either lol) and I forgive them...
    I think about Jesus telling Peter forgive 77 times... and plus I myself *hate* that loathsome feeling of bitterness and resentment towards someone.. Especially since its long over and I already forgave! It's so annoying....
    This makes total sense.... I will now offer up a Hail Mary for that Person on the spot...! evil always wants us to be bitter and complain.. its so annoying lol
    Like go complain and hate in your own corner and leave me out of it... I do say that sometimes... lol... In Jesus's name of course... as He's got the authority not me lol
    God help us to always respond with repentance and forgiveness.. Amen!

    -Padre Pio
    "In our thoughts and at confession, we must not dwell on our sins that have already been confessed, (because of our contrition) Jesus has forgiven them at the tribunal of penance. There he faced us, (and our miseries) like a creditor in front of a debtor, and with a gesture of infinite generosity, he tore-up the bills we signed with our sins, (which we certainly could not have paid on our own without the help of his divine clemency).
    To go back to these sins and bring them up, (just to have them forgiven again) because of doubt that they were about abundantly remitted, would this not be considered a lack of trust in the goodness which he proved by his tearing-up every document contracted through our sins?
    Dwell on them, (if it is a source of comfort for your soul) but only for the purpose of weeping redemptive tears of repentance and love"

    John 14:16 KJV And I (CHRIST) will pray the FATHER, and HE shall give you ANOTHER COMFORTER, that HE may abide with you FOREVER;
    17 even the SPIRIT OF TRUTH; Whom the world cannot receive, because it sees HIM not, neither knows HIM: but you know HIM; for HE dwells with you, and shall be in you."
    1 Corinthians 6:19 KJV "What? know you not that your body is the Temple of the HOLY GHOST which is in you, which you have of GOD, and you are not your own?
    20 For you are bought with a price (CHRIST crucified for the forgiveness of all sins once for all): therefore glorify GOD in your body, and in your spirit, which are GOD's.
    Note: The HOLY SPIRIT indwells a true believer forever and raises that true believer from the dead.

      Jesus was Jewish he was a Jewish preacher following Jewish practices. Jesus didn't start any new religion it's the people that came after him did that. What they wrote about jesus is mostly myth. They tried to turn him into the prophesied Messiah but they couldn't blag the visible quantifiable prophecies, world peace and return of the exiles, the second coming rubbish is new testament cop out for not fulfilling world peace. Imagine a Messiah needing two goes at something, it's ridiculous
