    Chris, I have to say, this is probably THE most jealous I’ve ever been of Ash being your taste tester….and I’m jealous most of the time! 😂 My weakness (there were many) in my SAD days was Apple fritters! Thank you, Lord of the Kitchen!! 😁❤️

    I made the carnivore version the night you posted it. It was amazingly delicious! I told my husband the basic recipe, without add ins, would be perfect to make apple fritters. Thanks for figuring it out for me! ❤😋

    I use chayote for a apple substitute and jicama for potato substitute

    WOW! Can't wait to try this! I have used chayote squash in place of apple with some apple extract, but never jicama! I'll have to find some jicama.
    Thinking outside the box. Here in Wisconsin, deep fried cheese curds are the appetizer of choice. I would think your carnivore fritter batter work to make cheese curds! 🤔🤔🤔

      I've used chayote in an "apple" pie - it's a little less carbs but a pain in the patootie to process! Jicama (higher carbs) is naturally a bit sweeter, and firmer. It's actually nice julieened in a salad - not that I eat salads anymore!

    I missed the first video on fritters, so off to watch it. If you would like something else to use as "apples", try chayote squash. It has an apple like flavor and can be used as well as jicama for a substitute.

      Great tip! I'll have to give chayote squash a try. It’s tough to get at my local store so I went with the jicama, but next time I see it I’ll have to grab some.

      @@ChrisCookingNashville I can find them in the mountains of North Carolina as we have a large Hispanic population here. Try stores in those areas to see what you find.

      They carry them from time to time at our stores. It’s more just a stocking issue as they sell out regularly.

    Hey GOOD MORNING Chris, Ash and Mel....What a fantastic way to start my day seeing this video....DITTO on the jealousy part wow....I also as I said yesterday use Cahyote BUT I love jicama and am going to try that ....the cinnamon sugar dusting finish YUM....thank you Chris for another epic recipe...I was wondering as my mind is fresh in the A.M. in the Russian neighborhoods of Brighton Beach,Brooklyn, NY back in the 80's when an influx came over they had their version of fritters called Pochnik ((spelling is probably wrong) where they did the batter with savory cabbage or with a chopmeat mixture and sometimes both ....They were amazing but you had to eat them as they got soggy as they cooled down like most fritter types...just a very old memory ....you may want to explore .......Thank you. as always cant wait to try this for my husband.....Julianna NC

    Another fantastic recipe to try one day. Instead of jicama, can someone use chayote squash?

  • @gullinvarg

    You could probably make corn fritters with baby corn. I've seen keto cornbread made that way (almond flour based, but baby corn for texture).

    Chris, I just received the whey protein “Nothing Else” from Amazon and come to find out it has sunflower lecithin in it. Is that going to mess things up? If so I will send it back. 😢 15:48

    • @ChrisCookingNashville
      @ChrisCookingNashville  10 дней назад

      For this recipe no. Since you’re not whipping the why protein like you would egg whites you’re good to go as long as you don’t mind the trace amount of it.

    Great stuff. Chayote is a much better apple sub than jicama imho. Fewer carbs and end product fools me. But I bet jicama is okay too.
