Love the drummer demonstrating why no need for a huge drum kit. Primordial & gutsy yet sophisticated. Wonderful non clichéd music as true jazz should be & like everything else percy does
Just fucking excellent! I've been memorized by Brand X and other jazz rock/fusion bands for the last 45years lol.. I'm 65 now! Their early albums in the Phil Collins era were just superb, and Percy's bass playing just so innovative and creative.Their later recordings with Goodsall,Katz and Jones is awesome..Manifest Destiny as an album and stuff with Tunnels is Fusion on a big scale👍 sad too hear the loss of John Goodsall and Frank Katz 🙏 as Frank Zappa once said 'Music is the best..and listening to Percy playing I guess he was right.thanks for sharing the vibe.
This is one of the most exciting performances I’ve heard in years. A composition of magnitude a tribe of musicians of great expression and collaboration. Exceptional and satisfying.
Percy - I saw some great (but raw) footage of you playing at a college of some description. It was just you and a sequencer playing stuff from around the Cape Catastrophe/Propeller Music period so late 80s early 90s. I now can’t find the footage on RUclips either it has been taken down or I’m not searching for the right thing. Any clues where I might find it?
Hi John, I do remember that gig at a college in PA, even though it was a long time ago. Someone told me a couple of years ago that there was a video of the gig on RUclips, but I have never seen it. I have no idea who put it up, or who took it down. Sorry I can't be of much help.
@@percyjones3162 thanks. Yeah I think it has been taken down for whatever reason. It was great to see you experiment with those compositions and pushing the envelope with them. Normally I find playing with kind of stuff fairly stale compared to ensemble playing but you brought some vitality to that performance, so hats off to you. Enjoying your work and unique voice as always 👍
