So glad I discovered Open Studio around the beginning of the pandemic and signed up. So many great lessons and practice sessions to open your ears and mind.
Hi Peter, I'm a trumpet player and I drive tractor/trailer for 40 hours a week. I wanna thank you for all the good teaching you and your partner has given. And I will definitely take in the advice of practicing at least 30mins to an hr. a day. I'll put down scrolling through fb and playing games on my phone and put that time into practicing.
Hey Peter, this Q&A is a real blessing...so much so that it's taken me at least three days to get through it. From the wrist to the blindfold to the voicings in all keys, watching this for the foreseeable future will be part of my daily/weekly routine. Thank you.
The advice at @1:10 to think of bebop in terms of "rhythmic and melodic connections" rather than primarily harmonic devices, is really good. Thanks Peter!
Thanks Peter, really enjoyed it I'm a saxophone player but really good. I love that 4th interval voicing and really want to know how to play in the sound melodically. Thanks
I have perfect pitch so I used mental practice when I was working 60+ hours a week. When I had a chance, I would practice from 5 to 15 minutes. I’m not saying it’s a great method but it helped me out tremendously.
Just can’t catch you guys live because of time zone but I always get to hear you anyways and I think you are doing a magnificent job of inspiring a lot of aspiring musicians such as myself and have learned tons in just a short time I’ve discovered you in these past couple of months and I am very thankful for the knowledge and efforts you share!! As for the mt. Rushmore thing or anything that might offend anyone or me for that matter, I really don’t care...I guess, for me to be listening to open studio, I also need to be open minded. Keep up the beautiful work gentlemen and your staff!!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🍻👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

One of the most informative and more importantly one of the most inspiring sessions and demos I've experienced in a long long time. Kudos Peter.
I missed it live, but enjoying it now. Cheers Peter
