Is there a way to perhaps export the position of some 3D objects as well? In my Blender scene I have a laptop and the camera moves away from it. I'm trying to put a video over the screen of the laptop, but I can only guess what X, Y, Z values I should use for the position of the video in After Effects. EDIT: Okay, yeah, there is. What I did was I created a plane which I positioned, oriented and scaled in a way that it was the exact size of the screen of the laptop in Blender, then I ctrl + clicked on both the plane and the camera when exporting with the add-on. Then, inside After Effects, I just replaced the plane layer with the video by alt + drag n dropping it.
The import is fine, but my camera in the animation is pointing in the other direction, which means I have to place the elements in the direction the camera is pointing. Any solution?
Hello, first of all thank you for the video! :) :) I don't know why, but the movement of the camera doesn't match. Motion in After Effects is way too subtle compared to Blender. Do you know what is the cause of this?
Do you have aditional elements in After Effects that are 3d? Than you have to make sure, that they are at the same position. Otherwise the movements are way to strong, or to subtle, caused by the paralax effect.
does this work only with camera keyframes? I have my camera as a child to a box that I use rigid body on to through from a high spot. Would this be able to get that motion?
Use the importer script, and then if you want the video from blender as an mp4, render it and then either import it as an image sequence, or if you rendered it as an mp4 it can come in as a movie.
@@WhatMakeArt thanks for your reply. Which settings?! The active part is just there at the bottom in the timeline and I went file> export Adobe after effects. I see no settings.
@yanalineva4231 Hmm ... Puzzling, I would try with a new simple Blender scene and after effects file to eliminate variables and test, hope you figure it out
You need to select the output format for your animation Blender, make sure you have the frame range selected and if you wanted to make a video that you select ffmpegand MP4 for the encoding.
Post any blender to after effects questions in the comments
honestly, huge thanks to the creators of this! :) I've bought the blenderae addon, but this works much more efficiently and has much less bugs
Glad it helped 👍
Thank you so much for this tutorial, Jimmy! 🙏
Welcome 👍

Parent all of the scene elements and the camera to a 3D null or 3D solid, rotate it by 180°, from unparent and continue?
thank you so much....

Is the frame rate and aspect ratio exactly the same?

Thanks for sharing the suggestion and tip

Try selecting the box and exporting, if that doesn't work, maybe you can copy the keyframes from the box to another duplicate camera to use for export

Best!
You da best
I wanna export the animation from the frame 200 to 400, but somehow a long timeline of over 3 mins gets exported!! Do you know why that is?!
Did you set your frame range in the output settings?

hey i tried it, but when I import in AE, the camera has 0 keyframes. the composition that gets creaetd is 1 frame long. Any ideas?
Does the blender scene have camera movement?
Yes it does
