Be sure to follow the video closely and be certain any internal connections involving the assembly are securely in place. Often times during a repair components can become dislodged or loosened. If the assembly isn't dysfunctional it should work fine if you follow the steps. Good luck!
Unfortunately, both the touch screen (outer glass) and LCD will need to be replaced. This is due to the fact the two parts come used together, and are EXTREMELY difficult to separate. If you would like to purchase the combination screen (LCD + touch screen), we have the part available at RepairsUniverse (dot) com.
the keypad flex (where is the charging port) is the one which controls the touch of the front buttons? or are they integrated within the main digitizer?
Followed this step by step and fixed my phone. Except the first step - I didn't untorx the bottom two screws so I ran into problems with getting the loudspeaker and back cover off and on lol. But it still works. Much appreciated.
this is the same question i have.... could a e973 screen be used for the e970? i have replaced mine once already, and the screens look 100% identical....
Thank you for this video...I have a question though. This morning I was on my main screen and clicked on an app to open and my screen froze. From there it went to a grayish white screen. I cannot access the home screen or do anything with the phone. Have you seen this before or can you possibly tell me what the problem is and how I would go about fixing it. Thanks for your time and I look forward to your response.
Hello! So, first, thank you!! I have just replaced my screen and digitizer on my LS970 using your wonderful video. However, somehow between taking the pieces apart and putting them together, my power key doesn't stick out anymore. It is flush with the frame, and isn't able to be pressed or give any response when pushed... From what I can see, rewatching the video 30 times hehe, I haven't lost any pieces as part of the power key. Any idea what could have happened?
Hello I replaced my LG optimus G E970 screen assembly and it is just black after I put back together from the video in reverse. Home Screen does not show but I can hear it open up after I slide up and can hear volume. Where did I go wrong is there some kind of strip I need to use to have the screen light up?
I'm looking to replace the digitizer on my Optimus G. I see in the comment below that you can do it individually. I'm trying to weigh my options, because buying just the digitizer is much cheaper. How hard is it to remove the digitizer by itself, and what kind of tools would I need? I'm already expecting to have to use a heatgun, plus screwdrivers/opening tools. Any help would be appreciated :)
mkolorz The screens are fused together. If you choose to try and do a glass only repair then be prepared if you break the LCD. It may cost you more in the long run. Unless you are a Mobile Electronics Repair Tech or have extensive experience in repair I would recommend to buy the complete screen.
Have you guys made a video on assembling it back together again? I'm weighing my options on whether or not its worth the trouble of replacing them myself....I wouldn't want to screw up putting it back together again.
Ok I have a question after doing everything right my screen is dark where did I go wrong I can barely see apps if I tilt the screen what could be the wrong thing I did
Your video is by far the best on this, and I got through it. The Sprint version made it about a 2 hour sweat for me however; the battery was actually really anchored in with 3 full width adhesive strips and I came close to destroying the battery trying to get it out. The screws were all torqued in so tight that my phillips stripped on screw 2, and the safe remove pry tool was destroyed by the time I got it done. Now...I know I pinched a notch into the white coax cable in the process but put it back together anyway and it worked...sort of. My house is a dead zone, but even driving some distance to other parts of the major city I'm in the signal seems weak. Is that the white cable or something else, perhaps? Thanks for the vid, I'd never have gotten this done without it.
Working on this phone. The screen/digitizer is good, but I need a new motherboard. I have another one with a cracked screen but good motherboard. is it possible to just switch out the motherboard using this guide and get my phone to work?
When putting back the phone together and turning it on to test, the LCD doesnt display and the flex cable of the LCD gets VERY hot. But if i take of the back plastic piece that holds the speaker and antennas, the LCD works and it doesn't heat up. What could be the problem?
Michael Garcia Sounds like you have something shorting out. Inspect the flex cable going to the LCD and the Digitizer. Make sure that The underside of the cable is not damaged in any way. It can become chaffed with repeated install and removal of the plastic cover. Make sure that there is nothing metal coming in contact with any of the flexes. I hope this helps.
+Eduardo Gazzinelli Fonseca The LCD is fused to the front glass panel. It would be very challenging for you to replace only the front glass panel. We would not recommend this.
Short answer is Yes. Long answer is. The screen is fused to the glass digitizer. It requires applying heat to the glass and carefully separating them. then refusing the screen to the LCD. If you don't have the proper equipment to do this. I highly recommend that you buy the complete assembly. You can find this here....www.repairsuniverse.com/lg-optimus-g-ls970-screen-replacements-repair-parts.html
Замучился на нем пленки менять, после носки в кармане через месяц менять приходилось. Присмотрел тут для него чехол в Дон Чехол, теперь пленка и корпус под защитой.
locoberzerker It is not as difficult as it seems. It is definitely worth it, if you are trying to save any information. Dealing with insurance can be a hassle as well, fixing you device is a viable solution for anybody trying to save money and time.
Which part of the device did you replace?
Thanks for the video. We were able to follow the steps and replace the screen on our phone and save a lot of money!!!
Can it still be held down with the two screws? If so you should be ok.

By the look of the battery, do you think is possible that I can install wireless charging receiver?

We'll provide the feedback to our video production team. Check back with us for any updates.
alright thank you 😉
+Jen Alena This will work for the LS970, as it states in the description. Only a few things differ on the body style of the E970 and LS970.
Hi there. Would this also apply to the LG E977?
I cannot find the replacement screen for the E970. I only see the LS970 and E973..could I use the E973?

Thanks very much for your quick response. I think I will probably take your advice and just get the entire assembly.
is this the same interior of the optimus g e977?

Do screen and display come together? and do you know how much is it?
Thanks!
Yes, The Touch Screen Digitizer is fused with the LCD.

Yeah, if the motherboard is of the same type or model of your screen it will work fine. try it, this guide is the right one.
So i was able to switch out the motherboard with another one and it worked.
Bueno, entoces donde pordria comprar nueva para Colombia, gracias.
Hola, no estamos muy seguro. Desculpanos.
It is necessary to put the glue or i can fix the screen without putting the glue?
You would require adhesive for the repair.
Hola, donde compraste la pantalla?
Hola, en este momento ya no ofresemos la pantalla para este model. Desculpanos por cualquier molestia.
can you make a full reassembly tutorial please
When taking off the battery connector, instead of disconnecting, both sides of the connector came up. At this point am I completely boned?

Well, this look like a lot more work than it's worth. Screw these phone manufacturers and their stupid glass screens!

Go 'head and void that non-existant warranty . Fix it yourself for much less . Patience; time .
Hi there. Would this also apply to the LG E971?
closer to the e975
