Emma has been a sought after, working artist since well before her epic performance of 'Voila" last July 2023. It was 6 months after that performance in Dec. 2023 that she performed 'Hallelujah' for the Dutch public broadcaster MAX with the European Pop Orchestra. Since then, she has been performing as a featured vocalist with Andre Rieu and the Johann Strauss Orchestra on world tour. I believe they have just wrapped up a swing through the Scandinavian countries. Between tour dates she still finds time to perform at events throughout the Netherlands. Her most recent epic performance was in the form of a duet with April Darby of the song 'When You Believe'. It was performed at the 5th of May Liberation Concert on a stage built over the Amstel River in Amsterdam in the presence of the Dutch Royal Family. It was a beautiful and powerful performance that has made her a National Treasure in the conscious of the Dutch people. Emma has become every bit as linked to the Dutch national character as the King and Queen themselves. She is simply phenomenal. Emma is very special! She has a very high consciousness level, higher than her peers and most adults. This high consciousness level allows her to have high energy levels that she can impart to the listener. For a singer, she takes the listener on a trip bordering divinity. Yes, she certainly is. She has an absolutely breathtaking voice. I’ve heard of her new single and I’ll check it out if I can. Now I'm going to throw a new thought your way, in this recording, the sound mix wasn't as good as it could or should have been, they didn't give Emma's microphone the levels it needed, and while it didn't detract from the overall effect, it didn't truly give the result it could have done, and they put a slightly different version up a few days later, recorded in the studio with no audience as such, and only a piano for backing, played by a family friend, Rob Mennen, it's on RUclips, and if you enjoyed the Christmas show version, and you clearly did, and rightly so, then the studio version is also likely to seriously impress you, it can be found at ruclips.net/video/ma01DXvF5Vk/видео.html Another absolutely stunning performance has just been uploaded, it's a good version of the song she sang in the Hague as part of the celebration concert at the start of May, during a time when she was incredibly busy, between concerts for the celebration and concerts in the UK and Ireland with Andre Rieu, she had very little spare time, but the way she sang at all of the concerts at that time was incredible, I was at the live Dublin concerts, and she sang Voila, and the Michael Jackson song, 'Heal the world', both were sublime, and the version she did of a Demi Levato cover, 'Father' in the Hague was significantly different to the version she sang last September and this latest version was stunningly powerful, she went for and nailed a new top note that she's not gone for before, and it was exquisite, the video can be found at ruclips.net/video/zXWBj7-edWU/видео.html Emma has gone from strength to strength over the last year since her first apperance on Andre RIeu's stage in Maastricht, and as well as singing with Andre's world tour, she's also done other events, and every one of them has been a resounding success, and it's down to the way in which Emma is so determined and driven to be the best she can be, when we heard Voila for the first time, and it wasn't just the first time, it was the first ever appearance by Emma on Andre's stage, in front of 12,500 people, it was also the first ever live performance of that new version of Voila that Andre and Emma perfected after he decided to give her the opportunity to sing at the summer concerts, she absolutely nailed the performance, to the extent that the next day, even though they'd only done one performance, Andre asked Emma to join him as a guest star for 2 concerts in Malta, for 5 Christmas concerts in Maastricht, and for 75 concerts around the world during 2024, and they're half way through that tour now, and the video of Voila that was released last August has been watched by an average of over 1 million viewers a week on RUclips alone, and there are significant views on other social media sites. Her health issues are significant, she was born with gastroparesis, but it's so rare, despite putting her on to tube feeding at 9 MONTHS to keep her alive, she wasn't properly diagnosed until she was 10, and the disease has affected her significantly, she has no memory of eating normally, the most she can cope with is a small piece of rice cracker twice a day, with tiny slivers of other foods to give her the taste of them, and she also has problems with milk drinks, and of course, meals are so much more than sustenance, they form an integral part of social cohesion, and her participation in meals is not an event she can enjoy, as she's effectively excluded from full participation, and her growth was held back, even now, she's only 1 Mtr 50 height, and around 50 Kgs, so tiny, and another result of that is her stamina is very limited, when carrying the equivalent of a boat anchor for 22 hours a day, more than two flights of stairs, or even walking long distances such as at a large international airport is an issue, and she ends up having to use a wheelchair, it's been a hard road for her to work through. What there is no doubt about is her talent, her singing ability and her determination to not let the disease define her, she's made it very clear that singing is her therapy, her freedom, she performs during the two hours a day that she can be free of the feeding tubes that effectively keep her alive, There's so much more that can be said about the songs she's recorded, but for now, I'll just close with what's become my signature sign off when commenting about Emma, and yes, it means a lot to me to be able to do this, she is a very special individual, and she deserves as much support as it is possible to give her. Emma's foundation can be found at gastrostars.nl Please, if at all possible, join me in making a (regular) contribution to her foundation, to enable them to help patients like Emma, and research this awful disease that has affected her from birth, and requires her to be tied to the pumps and feeding tubes since she was 9 MONTHS old, for 22 hours a day, hopefully, the work of her foundation will find a cure. One of their main people is a surgeon who has a lot of experience in dealing with gastroparesis, and she is not only a surgeon, but also suffers from the same disease herself, to the extent that as a result of her condition worsening, she's had to leave her role in the hospital, and she is now dedicated to the foundation, and working to help find possible new treatments, or even better the cure that will free people like Emma to live a more normal life, rather than be tied to the feeding pumps for so many hours every day. It will be so good if the work of Emma's foundation can lead to a better treatment, or even a cure, which will free her to do more singing, and it may be people here who make that possible.
That is one hell of a breakdown of her story. You have no idea how much I appreciate you taking the time to write all that out and explain how she started and the opportunities that she was given from her amazing talent and the passion and strength that she has Just to get through the airports like you said is so difficult but it’s all worth it for her because she enjoys singing so much that’s just such an amazing inspirational story and I get behind you 100% and I think that donating to this cause No Doubt something that anyone should consider if they have the funds to do so. I make it a promise that if my finances ever stabilize, I will make a significant contribution to that organization. Anything to keep the ball rolling on finding a cure for that is some thing that I get behind. It’s weird that this is the cause of her issues. Even the sad ones relative to the procedures she goes through every five months. Painful. People do not understand that those two pumps and tubes for 22 hours per day keep her alive. That is why she feels free when she is on stage unplugged. By the way, her mom and dad as well as her brother and sister are so supportive of her and you can feel the love that is in that family.
