I think the 996 Turbo is the one to buy, not much difference in price vs the C4S. But only the C4s has the beautiful rear reflector! It's the best looking 996.

Difference in price when you come to maintain it.

I do t think so I was in the position to buy both but went for the C4S, as it sounds much nicer than the Turbo m, which sounds like a hairdryer, and the C4S also revs higher, and is lighter than the Turbo.
I got one that had the IMS upgraded and loved every minute

@@MrCaterhamr500 I have one too and love it. good choice. in the end I loved the rear more than the Turbo rear. Price not really an issue as both similar. That said I would still buy a Turbo at the right price.

V nice cars in their time… now look awfully dated, esp the front and plasticky interior.. In terms of current values vs the car you get, its prob the best value and utility 911… future classic? No. There are too many of them.

Thanks for the comment, I suppose it depends in which country and which market but looking back in history all Porsche's become a classic given enough time.

…I’ve driven mine from Luxembourg to Portugal, also driven roughly 2k km down there during vacation and back again, totalizing 6k km…
Want to know how many other 996 C4S I came across during those 6k km?…One! With Switzerland numberplates.
Are you so sure there are that much of them?…

The too many comment was aimed generally, not just the 996. Everything from the 996 onwards, is too many of them. No normal production 911 from 996 onwards will ever be a classic. GT series excepted. Same thing with other cars such as modern mercedes SL. It is not only the numbers made, but also the electronics that age any modern car much faster. Finally, material quality of the 996 series is - in my opinion- the low point of 911 model history. It was done at the time for good reasons (porsche was nearly bankrupt in 1995 when then996 was designed).
Still a great car to drive though, so enjoy it!.
