I am gay and sometimes I feel like God hates me cause I was kicked out of a church. But when I am feeling guilt, I listen this song, I feel more comfortable and in piece. Thank you :)
In Christianity, the first commandment is "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind," found in Matthew 22:37-40 and Deuteronomy 6:5. The second commandment, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself," is in Matthew 22:39 and Leviticus 19:18. Jesus said these two commandments are the foundation of all the law and prophets. If you were kicked out of a church and felt unloved, it's because the evil in those people has taken over them. We all have good and evil within us and are born into sin. If someone doesn't recognize this, they may let evil dominate their actions and fail to practice the commandments, showing they do not truly love themselves for unconditionally as so they cannot love others the same way. The word "love" in this context comes from the Greek word **ἀγάπη** (*agapē*), which signifies selfless, unconditional love. It’s a love based on commitment and action, not just emotions or feelings. This is different from other Greek words for love, such as **philia** (friendship), **eros** (romantic love), and **storge** (familial love). **Agapē** is the highest form of love, reflecting God’s love for humanity and the love we are commanded to show to others. If anyone calls themselves Christian they have a commitment to love others unconditionally.
I'm so sorry they did that to you. There are many Christian denominations that affirm your value as a gay individual including mine. PC (USA) hope you find a home and supporting community
when i was a christian this ways my favorite group now i still like them because there starting to break boundries and open ppls minds that been locked for so long. god to me is everything the street i walk on, the morning air, my family and friends also ppl i dnt know basically it is everything at once. and trust me if god were to wright a book i dnt think most of you can read it cus it wont make since to a close mind that only think one way
I am not a Christian anymore because of what I have suffered in the church, but even in the face of bigotry, I have been so lucky to have my supportive parents. My dad showed me this song nearly a decade ago, and as a young kid, I just saw it as any old nice church song… but after going what I’ve gone through, discovering myself as queer and experiencing firsthand what such hate feels like, rediscovering this song has been a blessing- I wish I had known it’s true meaning sooner. Actually understanding the songs meaning makes me so especially grateful for the support my parents have given me, and it’s been wonderful to actually have this song to feel loved to- maybe not by any god, for myself, but just by anyone supportive here- it’s so great seeing a comment section full of love from the last decade, and knowing that these people have all made many feel loved. I very much doubt that the creator(s?) of this song would see this, but if you do: thank you.
As a person who has almost left Christianity due to how the church I grew up in became coopted by the GOP into a hateful organization, songs like this remind me that there is so much more to faith than a legalistic list of "sins". While I still havent quite found a church home as an LGBT exvangelical, this song gives me hope that there is room for me.
I love this song so much. It's one of the few Christian songs that I can sing on a bad day and really feel good instead of lying to myself how I "should" feel good.
my youth pastor showed this to us tonight :D it was great, i was about in tears just from the inclusion of "God loves lesbians" - because i know He loves me, but knowing that the leaders arent hateful made me so happy
Stephanie Pease Yes, God truly loves lesbians. That doesn't mean he loves their behavior(It talks about that in Romans if you're interested). I feel like the best way to minister to those who are lost is through love. :)
Tamara Pease your story is touching, but i have to be honest with u! being a Lesbian does NOT mean your going to hell, the only thing you need to be received is to believe on the name of Jesus Christ as God, who died for your sins. that does not make the sins you and I commit "ok" or rightly seen in Gods eyes, God does not "love" when you are with a women anymore or less then he does not "love" when I myself (as a straight male) look and lust for over women. so to honor the lord who dies for me i have to FIGHT my very own BASIC urges to be with a women outside the context of marriage. for me to say God loves when I (even as a straight male) sleep with women out of the context of marriage is a lie and I make God out to be a liar if i promote that, and it might cost me my eternity if i continue down this slope. Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?,“And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart form me, you who practise lawlessness.’ Matthew7:22-24 These are not my words but the Word of God. The reason i go about this runabout way is to say to you, God loves you and me but he does not love the lawlessness that you and me practise everyday and unless we repent and turn towards what is good it will cost us everything. i repeat i am NOT singling out homosexuality, I am singling out ALL forms of ADULTERY and adulterous behavior I am not in anyway trying to bring u down as a human being, but you need to know the truth or one day it will cost you everything.
Nicholas Morris ...so, you're literally saying unless i 'fix' myself, i'm going to hell. i promise, there's nothing you can tell me to try and convince me that i'm committing some horrible sin that i haven't heard a million times before. i DO believe in God. i love Jesus and i've accepted Him. and sorry to break it to you, but i trust what the Lord has told me (and my youth pastor) more than i trust a stranger on the internet.
Tamara Pease .."so you're literally saying unless i "fix" myself, IM going to hell, ...well if that was the case im going to hell too, cause i have an adultery problem that just manifest itself in a different way...so that is not what im trying to say! What i am trying to say though, that both you and MY adultery problem is not seen as "just" before God. but If i promote my life style that claims God loves my adultery, i make God out to be a liar. As i lean more closely towards Christ my affections lean more closely to what he wants me to be and do in him. As i know him more he transforms my desires into his desires, and my passions towards his passions, some days are harder than other, and often i will fail, but day my day he brings me closer to him and closer towards a life he desires me to life. God does love you, but that doesn't mean God loves everything that you do. in the SAME WAY, that God does not love the things i do that are unjust or adulterous. Im not asking you to trust me, You can trust your Youth pastor, or you can trust what the Word of God says I am only after your best interest, how you live your life has NO effect on me, but plz dont end up on the wrong side of eternity by claiming God said he loves your or my sin in my life. Im really not singling you out, we both have challenges that manifest itself in different ways, some more difficult and trying then others, God really does love you, and God really does want you and I to both cling to a different life in him. God calls us to come as we are, not to stay as we are. i really hope you hear what im saying and find out how you can live a life that honors God in every part of your life.
Same here. I love the line "god will not be owned by religion". Completely destroys the whole "your god isnt real, my god is" debate with religious ppl. All religions are correct in their own way. God is love. I mean that literally. Love is the most evidence we have that God might be real. It's the most amazing, pure thing in this universe. As a non-Christian, I think Gungor really portrays God in a positive, inclusive, loving way.
A letra e a canção não se aplica a intolerantes ou que desprezam que Deus é amor e está a disposição dev todos, sem mocinhos e vilões, sem 'detentores'
People hate on Gungor to much. People are missing the point of this video. How can you disagree with the message? It is biblical. "God is love", is straight out of the bible. God is love, and I am not ashamed to say it. 1 Corinthians 13:4-7New International Version (NIV) 4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
One thing I think a lot of people miss is that He's also just. He is love, but there is punishment for wrongdoing. We can't just say God is love and ignore the fact that with love comes discipline. Not hating on the song, I think it's hilarious, but still.
@drag0nfly_girl @drag0nfly_girl You don't need to be a heretic to believe God is not male. Yes, Jesus Christ was a man. However, the English translation uses "He," etc. for God because it was translated from the original language during a time when masculine pronouns were all-encompassing. Are you really putting limits on a boundless God? I (and countless Christians before me) would argue It's just as correct to say 'God our Mother,' though that makes people very uncomfortable in the Western world. God is described as a Mother a few times in the Old Testament. Besides, if God made male and female in Their image (Gensis 1:26-27), then God is both male and female, correct?
The greatest song of God I've heard so far. Not taking any sides, does not take any favoritism to any group of religion or ideology. A very truthful and most wonderful message. God is Love and Love is God. God loves everyone equally.
Which, by definition, is a side. I appreciate the truths told about God: He is not a white man, He is not a man, He loves humans of every race, color and creed, He loves those we are incapable of loving. But there is so much more to our God! He is Holy, righteous, patient, merciful, gracious, Creator, Sustainer, all-powerful, all-knowing, eternal, Truth, Life... I realize that wasn't the point of the song, but I would have liked it better if it had just a bit godliness about it rather than making Him a joke.
Wow, they actually managed to combine the brutal childish honesty of "South Park" with the Christian faith ... and it is awesome. Sometimes I like humans.
Occasionally we actually do get our act together and learn how to spread the love of Jesus. Most of the time we’re messing stuff up, but when we finally get something right it’s incredible the stuff we can do in God’s name. ❤️
My grandmother was a gardener, and she had beautiful rose bushes that were taller than I was. Every fall she would make me help her prune them. It was hard work too. When I was younger, I always thought is was cruel that we cut off so much of the huge flowering rose bushes. They were thriving with life, and with each clip they looked more dead than before. However, each spring the roses would come back and bloom more abundantly than the year before.
So I'm agnostic and could easily make some argument, but honestly, why can't people enjoy the song?? It's well written and has a good message. I know it's about a god, and anything involved with god always becomes an argument, but seriously, you guys need to calm down. If there is a god, he/she probably wouldn't want people arguing over a song written about him/her
Often folks say that God is love and kind and that He is, but He is also just and righteous. God's first attribute is holliness. If you read the scriptures you'll find the song is misleading, giving the impression that yes, we are loved... end of story. If we accept God's sacrificial love, we are making a covenant with Him to be obedient and live holy before Him. Let no man deceive you... God is not mocked.
So do we need to focus on that then? What kind of mentality does that create when you only focus on what we're doing wrong in the covenant? When we fully accept God's love all the other things follow don't they? Yeah, it doesn't happen magically, but God's message to the world is to simply love God and to love one another as we would ourselves. Those are the first two commandments, and those are the two that Jesus emphasized in his teachings. I don't like that mentality of Biblical literalism because it takes away from that notion. God isn't just love, but he fights for us and he conquered evil because he LOVES us. Because he hasn't stopped loving us in our sin. God doesn't just leave people alone when they fall away, he sent his son to find the lost sheep and to keep them from perishing. Even when people willfully abandon scripture I don't think God leaves those people. He waits patiently as the father does for the Prodigal son. He IS love and that's the end of it
Accepting Jesus as Savior is not agreeing or promising to do anything other than believe and accept Jesus’ love. There are no requirements other than that. If you decide to commit your life to Jesus then you are making promises to do as he says. But, if you just receive his love, pursue his love, than his love transforms you and you automatically do as it says in scripture because you allowed his him to work in you actively. The most important message of the Bible stated by Jesus himself is to love one another which is exactly what this song says. You can pass all the other rules because you are acting out of love which is what God was saying to do from the beginning.
I've always felt like "God is love, but He's holy, too", is a veiled threat to bring people in line with religious rules and regulations and to control them. You better be careful who you are trying to play god over. I was extremely rigid in my beliefs and let me tell you now, your only job is to introduce people to Christ and leave them to make up their own minds. God doesn't threaten. He invites, because human beings have free will. They must decide for themselves, and even after they made the commitment, it's up to them to work out their own salvation. Introduce them to Christ. Don't try and be Christ to them. If someone really has an encounter with the Lord Jesus, they will naturally follow Him. Doesn't need to be forced.
honk of despair God loves everyone, but He does hate sin. It is wrong for Christians to say God hates [the doer of the sin]. But it is equally wrong to believe a righteous and just God lets sin slide.
I showed this to a friend, to explain what a Christian is like. Not even Jesus was american or white; so why do other people feel superior because of that?
Jesus actually in the vision of John on the Island of Patmos was said to have hair as white as wool. I've been told by my family who are die hard Christians that he also has wooly hair. People have debated whether Jesus is white, a little darker, or even black. Most people assume him as Jewish, and the Jewish people are very diverse. Go to Israel and see for yourself. Jewish isn't a race, just like Mexican isn't a race. Also, if you know how diverse the Middle East is, you would figure out that Jesus could've looked any certain way. There are lighter skinned Jews or Israelites, medium skinned and darker skinned. Whether Jesus had quote "wooly hair" is a mystery. I've also heard of visions where Jesus was a white man, or was seen as white and shining. Whether that means Jesus is white, I don't know. All I care about is following God because race DOESN'T MATTER! Hell does, and you dying in Hell with demons torturing you and Satan himself making your time down there as miserable as ever is most important. Stop worrying about the color of his skin and worry about God who made ALL colors and creeds of skin.
@@dorseyan12345 There's a great song from Andy Gullahorn and Jill Phillips Christmas album that perfectuly describes your message. It's called "Some Children See Him" and it's really beautiful
God could've made the world really dull and boring. But he created colors for us to see and he gave us the sense of taste to enjoy. He made the animals and the sky and he decorated the world with all these beautiful things. It's just exactly like parents preparing a room for the arrival of the baby. They put so much effort and time to decorate it and make it look nice and comfortable for the baby.
Love this song but I see several people have a partial (at best) understanding. God is love, yes, demonstrated most clearly through his death on the cross and resurrection for each one of us. But He is also holy and just. Scripture clearly and consistently shows we must (through His power) die to our old selves and be resurrected as a new creation, obedient and glorifying to Him.
Christians don't need to point this out. Their job is to love people and let God work inside them. Healed lives are the fruit - it can't help but grow when people are genuinely loved.
Wesley Nilsen Wesley, your first comment was, "I hope you're not misunderstanding it-He does love lesbians, but he certainly does not love their actions," and then you just wrote, "No, I didn't assume anything. I'm just pointing out that the Bible says homosexuality is a sin, because it's not real love but lust. If you accept homosexuality as part of who you are and don't treat it like a sin, that is wrong. The Bible says that very clearly." You are elevating yourself to understanding the mind of God, and that is arrogant, legalistic and proud. To be as clear as possible: You are not coming from the love of God. I am friends with many gay people, and you have no idea what you are, indeed, assuming by saying "it's not real love but lust" and if someone doesn't "treat it like a sin, that is wrong." Really? Wow, don't go there. My hope is that you will go spend time in His Love for you, humble yourself, let God help remove that log in your eye, and THEN let His love overflow from you. Don't be like the Pharisees, assuming to know God or His ways just because 'THE BIBLE SAYS SO.' You don't seem to realize how this kind of attitude chases people away from what is true and pure --what truly draws all: The Love of Jesus. I cannot be any clearer.
Wesley Nilsen You aren't hearing me, Wesley, and I'm sorry for that. I believe that Abba Father's word became flesh = Jesus, and that he demonstrated the way for believers to act = LOVE. When we (you and I and all believers) really begin to understand God's love for us, personally, then He changes us as we abide in Him. Then, like I said, God's love flows through us to other people, and if they become believers too, then He is faithful to be the Author and Finisher of their faith. Read the words of Jesus, not Leviticus. Love the broken as He did --not by spouting OT scripture, but by showing them Abba Father's love. That's what I am trying to say, brother, don't worry about laying down the law for people, let His love draw them to Him, and let Him do the teaching, the cleansing, and the changing through His love and power. I have experienced this myself, and seen God's powerful transformation do this in so many! You can rest in the fact that He loves you, so unbelievably, and you don't have to do His job, just rest in His love, and you cannot help but be changed in ways you can't imagine, and He'll do amazing things through you and you will impact people so much more effectively than now! I promise you, and I will sincerely pray this for you.
Oh! I never thought about it that way!!!!! Wow. I have been enlightened. Thank you! I never would have had that perspective if you hadn't mentioned it!
I love this song, but I think it gives people the wrong idea. This makes it seem like God will just fix any problems in your life like a genie. There will be problems in your life, and God may not fix them right away, but he is definitely with you during the struggle.
Courtney Rowe I believe everything they say in this video is the complete truth, but for some people it is easy to misunderstand it. Saying "God is Love and He loves everyone" doesn't mean "God will give you everything you think you need". If someone has a completely twisted understanding of what love is then obviously they would misunderstand it.
I swear every time someone has to make and speak truth to others people have to reject. How can you possibly see anything wrong with this song? he is love that is it. he loves everyone. even the ones that are leaving hateful and rude comments. People Listen... if God loves terrorists, atheists, killers and liars. HE LOVES YOU TOO. So those of you that are struggling with sin maybe you think that God doesn't care for you. That's not true. Please ignore the mean comments. Don't let those things confuse and distract you from the message of this song.
+Pete Lavelle I get what you are saying but in another way this song if profoundly deep..... the simpleness of God's love is deeper than I can understand.... A lot of people have a hard time believing or understanding that God loves the evil terrorist as much as he loves Billy Graham. How radically would the world be changed if the children of God truly believed this simple song?
+Pete Lavelle What is wrong with you? Saying God is love is a form of worship. Paul must have been a baby Christian too? He talked about God's love all the time. 1 Corinthians 13:4-7New International Version (NIV)4 Love is patient, love is kind.
@apollomars1617 then because something is “irrational" it is not real? Some numbers are irrational abd there are still real. We need to be careful when we make that assumption. In my personal experience when someone say: “I don't believe in God who would do ____ " What they are really saying is that “I wouldn't believe in God who wouldn't fit my reasoning" and perhaps the creator of the Universe might have a sense of justice, reason, and morality a liiiiittle more developed than us.
stand strong Then I find the line "he is not a white man" a tad out of place. I'd also disagree that he doesn't make mistakes if the bible is to be believed.
stand strong If the Noah's Ark story is to be believed, the Christian God was wiping away his mistakes. One could argue putting the tree of knowledge in the garden of Eden was a mistake, unless the plan was to get Adam and Eve to eat the fruit from the get go, which would bring up a bunch of other issues with God's morality. There's also letting the Herbews linger as slaved for multiple generations because he forgot. Oops.
Ok I understand why you would believe those were mistakes. You could go as far as saying God made a mistake when he created people all together. He didn't though. He knew everything would happen before it did and he knew we were going to be sinful by nature. All those things had to happen for His greater purpose so He could send His son to save us. Also he did not forget about the Hebrews. He heard their cry for several years but God's timing is perfect and we don't understand everything He does/ allows but it's always for a greater purpose(: So He never made a mistake only we as humans can't see how bad things like this could ever be apart of a bigger and beautiful picture. So most people would see this as, I agree, a mistake but it's not(:
Yes God's love is really that great but the song forgot to say that God's love is not salvation & that God is also consuming fire! Yes God is love and God is a consuming fire, a God of mercy and grace but also a God of justice, rightousness and a Holy God!
We are given a choice. If we love Him then we have the opportunity to be with Him forever. If when we die our hearts are turned away from Him then we are separated. The act of being truly separated from God is torture beyond our comprehension because until then we have never been separated from Him and His love (even if we don't appreciate it or recognize it). He will not force us into a relationship but He desperately seeks it and if we reach towards Him in our last breath that's all it takes.
So if you don't want me to quote scriptures, why do you even bother replying to me? Jesus is coming soon enough and there will be many weeping for all of them who rejected the Son of God
I liked your post. But I sure hope you didn't mean "But Jesus is the only way, so this video is wrong" as if the video had said something different. It didn't!
finalfundy God loves us all knowing from the very beginning that we were going to fail. That's LOVE! (1Cor 13:4-8) ¿Would you love someone knowing that that person is going to betray you? God doesn't even care if we're perfect or not, He loves us and wants for us to have victory over sin...Read the Bible and you'll get to an answer. God Bless You :)
I'm sorry but this song bothers me, and yes I'm a Christian. God is love, but that love meant that he was nailed to a cross, bearing the burden of our sin. It wasn't a little game where a few hearts magically turned vegetables into sweets. An enormous price was paid for your salvation. Don't trivialise love with earthly trite. Never lose the wonder of the cross. As for God is not a man, the word became flesh and made his (yes "his" not "its") dwelling among us. We love the idea that God will tolerate everything because it suits. It's not true: "Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God" (1 Corinthians 6:9-11). Love does not mean tolerance as this video seems to suggest. Love these people so that they embrace the salvation that is freely offered to them.
Which is a perfect example of how some christians woefully misrepresent themselves and their religion. It's basically a propaganda campaign. (and no, it isn't /only/ christians.)
+Paul Cate You're talking about Jesus who was, in fact, NOT God. Also, I would like for you to prove that God hates some people WITHOUT quoting a 2000 year old book written by (SURPRISE) a mortal man.
+Kayawtiku I'm talking about Jesus, you're right. "In the beginning was the Word. The Word was with God and the Word WAS God" (John 1, I encourage you to read it all the way through). You can't expect me to not quote the Bible when it is the Word of God. All scripture is God breathed and is useful for teaching. I don't remember saying that God hates anyone. I'm also unsure about which mortal man you are talking about. The Bible was written by all sorts of people - scholars, prophets, poets, doctors, kings...all with a consistent message. God bless you.
It's a nice song and a fun video, but I wish they had used expansive language when referring to God. Using the masculine pronoun throughout the lyrics somewhat defeats the purpose of the song.
Love this guys. But if you really believe that "God is not a man" please consider occasionally using a feminine pronoun. Otherwise God remains very firmly male. (The lyric "he loves everyone" is repeated over and over. She now and then would demonstrate what you mean!)
I didn't think of the pronoun thing. That's a good point. I would prefer they didn't use pronouns on those lines and just sing "God is love and God loves everyone". No need to bring our gendered stereotypes into it at all.
"He" is used very often as a default pronoun, feel free to carry on about how that's discrimination because I don't give a shit, I'm just pointing out the obvious.
it totally is stereotypical... and I think it was made that way intentionally. think about who he's writing the songs too. Mostly greedy conservative republicans, and people who really think God hates gay people and really everyone who sins. and what we see are Muslim's because we are looking at them through the eyes of God. But for the specific audience Gungor is trying to reach are people that see all Muslim's as terrorists... it's supposed to stab at the listener and really get you to think about how you have been seeing God's love.
This video was amazing for me until the part that says that God loves catholics, protestants... (ok) then even ''terrorists'' refering to muslims. That is crossing the line. Such a christian song made by our lovely media :)
Amen, God is Love!! :) What can be confusing is that some can think that God is so good and loving, that they don't need Jesus to redeem them and make them dear Children of God... Does anybody feel that way sometimes?
What's unbiblical about it? The term "God" often refers to the Father, not Jesus, and the father is spirit, so not literally a man. And god does love everyone, hence John 3:16. HE has wrath, but doesn't mean he has not love.
James Brown I'm not going to get into a long discussion because I detest RUclips's comments section since Google took over. But Holy Writ clearly speaks of God loving in different ways. He loves His people differently than he loves the unsaved. I do not deny He loves them as creatures, but that is a benevolent kind of love. Also, Holy Writ speaks far more about God's hatred for the wicked than it does about His love. But people tend to ignore that part. As far as the song goes, its theology is so bad it borders on the heretical.
***** So you concede that God does love everyone. They never specified how God loves the people, they just said he loves them. You gave no biblical support against what they said, yet you called them borderline heretics? "Do not go around as a slanderer among your people" Leviticus 19:16 You may wanna take a look in the mirror brother.
For those in the comments that take one of the images as being “racially offensive”. Gentle reminder that this video was made during the same era as the search for bin Laden. That’s what is being depicted, it’s in no way meant to be taken as anything else. God bless you.❤
I put my faith in the true 7 risen Lord Jesus Christ because I see him and hear him everyday! All around us God is speaking to each one of us, but most of us cant/wont hear Him because we are too preoccupied with our own voices, and our own agendas. God wants what is best for us, but many people think they know what they want, so God is left out of their lives, then they complain when life gets hard, or struggles come. You reap what you sow!
amen to that brother. I wonder if people realize were exactly like them with the same problems and such with just one difference. that difference doesnt make us any better, it just gives us an unfailing hope.
What is horrific about a loving God who rescues us from complete darkness (eternal torture)? What is horrific about realizing that you are condemned and deserve punishment as much as your neighbor? That only produces humility, love and mercy. Without light there is only darkness. You ask if we deserve eternal torture, I ask if we deserve eternal glory.
Also, consider this passage- "For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that shall be revealed to us." Romans 8:18. It means to say that while we may have about 70-100 years of both suffering and joy on earth. It cannot be compared with an eternity of pure joy and contentment on a paradise earth.
"So then, the law was our guardian until Christ came, in order that we might be justified by faith. But now that faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian, for in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God, through faith." Galatians 3:24
I am not condemning you bro, I am telling you that I was condemned and broken from the fall. I could not see rightly. These are not my words, but I have found them to be true. They have given me life. I was a drug addict for ten years in/out of jail and when I prayed and asked Jesus for forgiveness, my life drastically changed. I have started three non-profits two for foster kids, and loved people in several other countries. Before Him, I couldn't even help myself let alone hundreds of people.
I'd like to repost this but due to that lack of understanding by many, I can't. I heard from a non believer recently that they'd NEVER heard that God hated anything as they believe God is Love. I think many today have a limited understanding... we need to be careful to represent God in his Fullness & Truth!
(...cont) If you refuse to take up your cross and follow me, you are not worthy of being mine. If you cling to your life, you will lose it; but if you give it up for me, you will find it." (I find this verse has basically the same meaning, but it is just worded differently so it helps bring understanding to what the verse in Luke means).
it best supports an event that people can't prove otherwise. There is no physical way to show that God exists because he is outside this time/world, but looking at the small things in science and design it is evident that something greater then chance created us.
I wanna make a strong point. Please feel free to debate my point. I know the song says God loves everyone and that part may be controversial but God sent his only son to pay for all our sins. God is a loving God, opening His arms to all those who’ll believe and Him, Glorify him, and Honor Him. Therefore opening His arms and Love to everyone.
Anyone else here in 2023 commemorating the passing of Pat Robertson by listening to this song?
I am gay and sometimes I feel like God hates me cause I was kicked out of a church. But when I am feeling guilt, I listen this song, I feel more comfortable and in piece. Thank you :)
Of course not bruno... god whats u to do what u like to do...
God loves you so much
In Christianity, the first commandment is "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind," found in Matthew 22:37-40 and Deuteronomy 6:5.
God does not have the same judgment or hatred that mankind has. Men take it upon themselves to judge on behalf of God, that is not their place.
I'm so sorry they did that to you. There are many Christian denominations that affirm your value as a gay individual including mine. PC (USA) hope you find a home and supporting community
This was uploaded 8 months after I was born. I am 14 now. This song is still amazing.
This song has the most basic message, and yet is probably the most radical Christian song I have every heard. God is love.
This song makes me cry almost every time I heard it. It's so beautiful. Thanks for making this :)
when i was a christian this ways my favorite group now i still like them because there starting to break boundries and open ppls minds that been locked for so long. god to me is everything the street i walk on, the morning air, my family and friends also ppl i dnt know basically it is everything at once. and trust me if god were to wright a book i dnt think most of you can read it cus it wont make since to a close mind that only think one way
I am not a Christian anymore because of what I have suffered in the church, but even in the face of bigotry, I have been so lucky to have my supportive parents.
It's been years and I still love this♡
As a person who has almost left Christianity due to how the church I grew up in became coopted by the GOP into a hateful organization, songs like this remind me that there is so much more to faith than a legalistic list of "sins". While I still havent quite found a church home as an LGBT exvangelical, this song gives me hope that there is room for me.
amen stop the hating. God is love. blessings
I love this song so much. It's one of the few Christian songs that I can sing on a bad day and really feel good instead of lying to myself how I "should" feel good.
i want this kind of video more
That song made me laugh multiple times! Love you guys, keep up the good work.
my youth pastor showed this to us tonight :D it was great, i was about in tears just from the inclusion of "God loves lesbians" - because i know He loves me, but knowing that the leaders arent hateful made me so happy
Stephanie Pease Yes, God truly loves lesbians. That doesn't mean he loves their behavior(It talks about that in Romans if you're interested). I feel like the best way to minister to those who are lost is through love. :)
***** I'm sorry if my comment came off as condescending, that was truly not my intention. Might you explain how you found it that way?
Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?,“And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart form me, you who practise lawlessness.’ Matthew7:22-24
These are not my words but the Word of God.
The reason i go about this runabout way is to say to you, God loves you and me but he does not love the lawlessness that you and me practise everyday and unless we repent and turn towards what is good it will cost us everything.
i repeat i am NOT singling out homosexuality, I am singling out ALL forms of ADULTERY and adulterous behavior
I am not in anyway trying to bring u down as a human being, but you need to know the truth or one day it will cost you everything.
Tamara Pease .."so you're literally saying unless i "fix" myself, IM going to hell,
...well if that was the case im going to hell too, cause i have an adultery problem that just manifest itself in a different way...so that is not what im trying to say!
Im not asking you to trust me, You can trust your Youth pastor, or you can trust what the Word of God says
I am only after your best interest, how you live your life has NO effect on me, but plz dont end up on the wrong side of eternity by claiming God said he loves your or my sin in my life.
I still love this song and share it when I see people talking about "Christians" who don't love and, therefore, don't know God.
This is by far one of my favorite songs about God.
Words can not express how much I love this song.
Well you tried :)
Thank you so much for this amazing song and video!!! So beautiful. God is LOVE. His very essence.
God is good, God is good and God loves everyone.
This must be the most beautiful thing I've ever seen!
Conheço essa música há muitos anos, na época em que estava me desligando da igreja. Hoje, procurei pra ouvir de novo. É nesse Deus que eu acredito! ❤
I ❤️ THIS!
A letra e a canção não se aplica a intolerantes ou que desprezam que Deus é amor e está a disposição dev todos, sem mocinhos e vilões, sem 'detentores'
Reposting this for current generations. Still perfect. God is LOVE.
People hate on Gungor to much. People are missing the point of this video. How can you disagree with the message? It is biblical. "God is love", is straight out of the bible. God is love, and I am not ashamed to say it.
1 Corinthians 13:4-7New International Version (NIV)
4 Love is patient, love is kind.
Except for, you know, that pesky Old Testament.
Is that an point of some kind?
I do like the message but not so much the pictures. On this video only White race is showing hmmmmmmm why?
Does anyone else think it's appropriate that this song's length is 3:16?
Its actually 3:17
Conroy Williams The length depends actualy on what device you watch the video, on computers is the length usually one second shorter
:(
omg what that cant be a coincidence
what's wrong with that number?
The greatest song of God I've heard so far. Not taking any sides, does not take any favoritism to any group of religion or ideology. A very truthful and most wonderful message. God is Love and Love is God. God loves everyone equally.
But God does take sides...
I'm crying.
Wow, they actually managed to combine the brutal childish honesty of "South Park" with the Christian faith ... and it is awesome.
Sometimes I like humans.
ME too lol
ahut up
Occasionally we actually do get our act together and learn how to spread the love of Jesus.

I was really moved when the man flew away on his hamster! Sooo good!
God is love
AWESOME!! What a great msg and very clever video clip!!!
So I'm agnostic and could easily make some argument, but honestly, why can't people enjoy the song?? It's well written and has a good message. I know it's about a god, and anything involved with god always becomes an argument, but seriously, you guys need to calm down. If there is a god, he/she probably wouldn't want people arguing over a song written about him/her
Noel the Killjoy from the Black Parade Yeah, we all just need to chill out, God loves agnostics too. Also, my chemical romance are great.
Amen brother ;)
Often folks say that God is love and kind and that He is, but He is also just and righteous. God's first attribute is holliness. If you read the scriptures you'll find the song is misleading, giving the impression that yes, we are loved... end of story.
If we accept God's sacrificial love, we are making a covenant with Him to be obedient and live holy before Him. Let no man deceive you... God is not mocked.
Mark Bowers Get behind, Satan. My God is love.
Love is not merely an attribute of God alongside others, like holiness or justice or righteousness.
Love is what God IS.
Therefore rejoice!
Michael and I disagree on quite a bit of theological points, however, this song is a perfect introduction to God for the unbeliever.
God is love and he loves all of y'all :)
love this. so tired of the fake christians telling people "god hates _____". god loves everyone, even the worst person on earth.
honk of despair God loves everyone, but He does hate sin. It is wrong for Christians to say God hates [the doer of the sin]. But it is equally wrong to believe a righteous and just God lets sin slide.
yes correct
Project Littlest Jensen sorry kinda late but god let's things slide all the time. he literally forgives you I you ask him to ignore the sin
Yes he loves the person but not there sin
honk of despair psalm 5:5
Thanks so much for sharing this awesome song. It's so true.
I showed this to a friend, to explain what a Christian is like. Not even Jesus was american or white; so why do other people feel superior because of that?
They need to feel superior because they are afraid.

God is a man. Jesus Christ became a man and still is one. That’s why he’s called the second adam
Perfect Definition Of My Beliefs
And everybody else who really loves God and the Logos and the Spriit.
Man, South Park has come a long way...
@@dcprime Good point.
You had me at God loves robocop
Hahaha
. . . and not a packet of crisps/French fries ??? So insensitive.
i love the video
God is no discussions on youtube guys.
God loves everyone (even lesbians). then and there I was moved by this!
Wesley Nilsen Wesley, I hope you're not misunderstanding it --He loves you, but he certainly does not love your arrogance, legalism and pride.
***** I agree.
Wesley Nilsen you assumed things. Not all lesbians do the thing that you are thinking. :)
God is more than a genie :)
I know, but I think that this song gives people the wrong idea about Him.
I know, but I'm just wondering if it gives people the wrong idea because it shows people with problems, "Love" comes, and then everything is perfect.
Mm, I see what you mean. I'd say the lyrics themselves are great, though.
still ma jams
but what's wrong with vegetables? :P
Great song and video! Thanks for sharing!
Don't let those things confuse and distract you from the message of this song.
it is a good song...for those still in need of milk.
+Pete Lavelle My gosh, you hit the nail on the head. There was something bugging me about this song, and this is it.
+Pete Lavelle and yes, there are many baby believers of all ages who need to hear god is love.
@apollomars1617 then because something is “irrational" it is not real? Some numbers are irrational abd there are still real. We need to be careful when we make that assumption. In my personal experience when someone say: “I don't believe in God who would do ____ " What they are really saying is that “I wouldn't believe in God who wouldn't fit my reasoning" and perhaps the creator of the Universe might have a sense of justice, reason, and morality a liiiiittle more developed than us.
i love this song!
:God is not a man.." "He loves everyone."
Well make up your mind, won't you?
He mean's He is not a man in that he is not human and can't make human mistakes
stand strong Then I find the line "he is not a white man" a tad out of place.
I'd also disagree that he doesn't make mistakes if the bible is to be believed.
What?! Wait why? I mean why do you believe He makes mistakes???
stand strong If the Noah's Ark story is to be believed, the Christian God was wiping away his mistakes.
Yes God is love and God is a consuming fire, a God of mercy and grace but also a God of justice, rightousness and a Holy God!
missdancerchick004 Nope. Wrath, in God's case, is one out of love, not out of hate.
Amen!
Aside from the "terrorist" (featured as a traditionally Muslim man) and using the male pronoun, this was pretty cool!

+Papa Legba well in the Bible, upon which this band referred to, God is known as He.
Which limits the divine to human anatomy.
+Papa Legba Not really. He is the best pronoun we have. It is better than "it."
But Jesus is the only way
Jesus is God
Jesus is the only way FOR YOU. For others, there are other ways.
(Please don't quote scripture at me, you may as well be quoting Lord of the Rings)
It didn't!
TheChanCan, since Jesus is the only God, then he is the only Way. There is only one God.
Okie doke. And you know how I feel about the biblical god because I know God is love. I'm glad we've had this talk.
God loves us all... but, He definitely does not love our SIN
Perhaps god shouldn't have made imperfect humans with the capacity to sin...
finalfundy God loves us all knowing from the very beginning that we were going to fail. That's LOVE! (1Cor 13:4-8) ¿Would you love someone knowing that that person is going to betray you? God doesn't even care if we're perfect or not, He loves us and wants for us to have victory over sin...Read the Bible and you'll get to an answer. God Bless You :)
With all the stones you throw, I presume you are sinless.
Miguel Zazueta we are sinners. Sin is not something outside of us. We are sinners.
It's called "free will." Would you have rather been a robot?
I'm sorry but this song bothers me, and yes I'm a Christian. God is love, but that love meant that he was nailed to a cross, bearing the burden of our sin. It wasn't a little game where a few hearts magically turned vegetables into sweets. An enormous price was paid for your salvation. Don't trivialise love with earthly trite. Never lose the wonder of the cross.
As for God is not a man, the word became flesh and made his (yes "his" not "its") dwelling among us. We love the idea that God will tolerate everything because it suits. It's not true:
"Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God" (1 Corinthians 6:9-11). Love does not mean tolerance as this video seems to suggest. Love these people so that they embrace the salvation that is freely offered to them.
This song only says that God loves them.
+Kayawtiku According to current dogma, many Christians believe Jesus to be god, both a part of him and separate from him.
Weston! You're on this video now! :) I mainly disagree with everything you're saying, but your persistence is impressive.
I feel that "God is not a man" doesn't have to do with God's gender.
It means he isn't human. He isn't a man.
Actually it does have to do with God's gender, or lack thereof.
***** girl... God has no gender...
"He" is used very often as a default pronoun, feel free to carry on about how that's discrimination because I don't give a shit, I'm just pointing out the obvious.
Man's minutiae gets in the way...
Love is God...
God is LOVE

I loved this song, but why was an Arab of all people a terrorist? Stereotype, much?
it totally is stereotypical... and I think it was made that way intentionally. think about who he's writing the songs too.
I think the idea is that God loves everyone despite their actions.
It says in the bible that god loves everyone no matter what this song is right about everything try reading the bible
Amen, God is Love!! :) What can be confusing is that some can think that God is so good and loving, that they don't need Jesus to redeem them and make them dear Children of God... Does anybody feel that way sometimes?
Unbiblical music fail!!!
*****
So you concede that God does love everyone.
They never specified how God loves the people, they just said he loves them.
You gave no biblical support against what they said, yet you called them borderline heretics?
"Do not go around as a slanderer among your people" Leviticus 19:16
You may wanna take a look in the mirror brother.
Pure message. Love!
Yes I love this song so much. But maybe change the terrorist part with the guy with the turban.... still love this song and it’s so powerful.
This is amazing I think I'm using this at my church service
such a fun song and video. LOVE.
I love this song and music video so much! It must have been so much fun to record!
I think it's more important for Christians to listen to this song than even non-believers...
LOVE LOVE LOVE this video!
The coloured banding on the LP is a reflection of the light, so it should not rotate when the turntable spins.
Dave Thompson Thanks Science Mike! Great observation. Haha.
Great video!
Can't stop watching this! I love it so much!!
I'd like to repost this but due to that lack of understanding by many, I can't. I heard from a non believer recently that they'd NEVER heard that God hated anything as they believe God is Love. I think many today have a limited understanding... we need to be careful to represent God in his Fullness & Truth!
Amazing Video!!
Amazing lyrics!!
This doesn't discount the old law, it just adds to it.
it best supports an event that people can't prove otherwise. There is no physical way to show that God exists because he is outside this time/world, but looking at the small things in science and design it is evident that something greater then chance created us.
Although old but still amazing!!! I love Gungor´s songs!
I saw this in lesson
I tried to not cry
But now I’m alone.
This is so awesome!
Thank u for this!
