SA pushing how many points SGA and other players score per game as a statistic that would make them worthy of the MVP, but last year when Joker was averaging nearly a triple double, breaking records that hadn't been touched in 50 plus years, setting records that had never been set before, and that wasn't good enough?! Let's not forget his historic NBA Finals performance. Bringing Denver their first title. I didn't even touch on his IQ and vision on the floor. His play making ability. His ability to make everyone around him better. The swing of 20 plus/minus when he's on and off the floor. Nikola is doing that again this season, so why isn't he your favorite? Why is SGA and Tatum your favorite? MVP isn't just about scoring, but if that is part of your criteria, what about everything else? What about rebounds? What about assists? PER? Etc. Joker has surpassed MJ in PER rating. His numbers are historical! You got nothing to keep you from supporting the best player in the league for MVP, which is Nikola Jokic. Again. ESPN and it's commentators already robbed that man of last year's MVP. He was better than Embiid. The free throw merchant, averaging 12 a game. A no-show on Denver's Home Court. Joker rarely gets to the charity stripe. Imagine what his numbers would be, if he got a friendly whistle. His stats said he was better than Embiid, which is what you seem to go by. Sometimes anyway. Just as an example, if player A is a lone star on a team of subpar players and wins 60 games, and player B is the best player on a four star team and wins 62 games. So player B is more valuable? Dear SAS: Genuine question - When did the MVP stop being the Most Valuable Player? I’m confused why it’s now the BPOTBT (best player on the best team) award. Jokic, Giannis, Ant, SGA, Luka, Steph…all seem more valuable to their respective teams vs how valuable Tatum is to Boston. Personally, it seems like the media is trying to move the goalposts in order to put Tatum into the MVP conversation, and make him the face of the league as the generation that came before him ages out.

This is a coaching thing and it showed when he said in the press conference that he's not going to force it if someone else is in rhythm. Celtics are an amazing TEAM. Only thing I can put on him is the wide open 3 he missed at the end of the game. He's not on a team where he is miles ahead of the rest of the players like other MVP candidates.
