@Norga94 yeah she tends to do that a lot (or Caius moves your sent close to her as he attacks it). There is a method people use which is make her cast magic and then cancel right away and make her cast magic again. The action of starting the first spell makes her to step back so if you keep cancelling and doing it you can "move" Serah back. I never really done it myself, but I have seen it done and its pretty usefull.
It's funny how people like gamefront say that the paradox ending where Noel fights Caius by himself is the hardest one but this is definitely the hardest fight in the game!
@Chemicgen1 You'll have to find the proper gate seal. If I remember it correctly then the Academia 4XX AF gate seal is in the abandoned town in A Dying World.. :) Not sure tho..
basically, max out yourself and probably the 3 monsters your using though it's optional. stagger him as fast as you possibly can after buffing serah, heal if you need to and use wound on him in his stagger phase to reduce his max health. getting the chain bonus weapon from the archylte steppe will help you in this battle for sure. it's important to keep wound potion at the ready.
Man for me Caius doesn't even care if he's being provoked by my monster. He still decides to go stright for Claire with a combo of Giga-Graviton and Inferno's. And everytime I eat his health he always manages to heal it up without me looking -_-
@lyles97 I would say yes, she gets thundaga and firaga as well and her magic stat gets quite high. I think her best ones are RAV and SAB. I dont know why they made Noel the better medic though.
I got fed up and just started using elixirs once my health would get too low. I'm not a fan of not being able to stop Serah from walking right towards the sentinel, at least not without drastically slowing down her attacks (cast/cancel method) so I just decided to keep up the damage and cure with elixirs and grimoire hat potions
this is ridiculous when i stagger him he chain breaks and cast his healing and buffs on himself then just goes to town and whenever i stagger him he chain breaks

@omegaevolution Another thing, I seem to take much more wound damage from his Inferno and Pulsar Burst attacks than you do. Any suggestions that would enable me to mitigate the damage?
I died atleast 37 times with fully done crystarium before i decided heck this boss wont let me kill him so ill just sit back and use a sentinel and use saboteur to wound him to death and it worked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! just switch to heal your sentinel once hes low enough and then go back to saboteur mode and wound him to death :3. Hope this helps anyone else who had trouble btw i use a xolotl as my sentinel
What level is your sentinel on? Because all the sentinels i have are weaker than me! :( Any advice i can get about it? The level i have for serah is Level 99 and my sentinels are weaker than her but she still dies before them it sort off makes me mad!!!! NEED HELP ASAP

@meteor22 If anything I had even MORE trouble I leveled Serah up more. She just can't do the damage necessary to overcome his healing. This fight's garbage. I had easier times killing Long Gui and Caius 3 w Paradox Scope than this.
@bezanson2 have you fought Yomi? THAT is the hardest fight in the game... but yeah, this is definiteley a shit tonne harder than the Noel v Caius fight haha
@omegaevolution hey bro I was just wondering how do your buffs last so long? Is there a particular accessory that gives you the ability? And great job on this fight man, this Caius is a bitch, Im still trying to beat him lol
This is the most ridiculous fight ever, every time I debuff him they just instantly go and every time I stagger him he instantly chain breaks, his health regenerates out of nowhere and I end up doing alot less damage than my game actually says. If I met cause in real life I would slap him
@maniac2792 It's a mute point anyway because it doesn't take long to MAX their stats, especially when you start farming Trapezohedron from Yomi and the Ultima weapon components from Immortal and Ochu. . I don't remember FF XIII being this easy to MAX their stats
omg its so easy with lightning divine to NEARLY kill him, tried it 6 times now i got a sentinel chocobo (level 5) and a healer and her and keep getting so close then he completely heals! BOO
Had to abandon this boss. I tried maxed out Silver Chocobo (Sentinel) and Saboteur again maxed out, I was maxed out in everything and no matter what I did NOTHING worked. The problem with this cheap and IMHO broken boss is the fact he can juggle you and not give you any fucking time to recover and from there kill you. It happens to me EVERY SINGLE TIME, this boss is just trash and without doubt the most frustrating boss in any game I have ever played. Even Dark Souls didn't piss me off to this extent. Nvm I just beat him, Jesus he's hard.
HA Who knew that Sentinel role was actually useful, Didn't use it effectively til that fight Now I've 2 uses for my Silver Chocobo ( found by moogle throwing into big green ball thing in 4XX AF )

caius likes to ignore the sentinel and kill me i dont understand

Hardest but one of the most fun bosses I've got him down to 3/4 help but I can't do any more damage and I know he's going to revive himself afterwards
Note to self: Never ask Serah to "make it rain."

this can be a vwery hard fight even if ur maxed out, u should have a whole bunch of potions elixs and pheonixdowns. just use em all on this fight.

@543joe Actually they both suck as Syn's, but Noel is the better one, and he's also the better medic, he just has slower casting.

This boss is the hardest boss in the game. Hands down. This is the only paradox ending I don't have.
