I think you underestimate the usefulness of the navigational point. It is very useful in ordering and lining up planes towards a runway. I usually send incoming flights to a navigational point so that I have a flow of incoming planes coming from a single direction towards a runway. That way I dont have to juggle several inbound planes flighing in random directions.
In the last ep he thought that it meant you control outbound planes that have reached their colours. Which is worse because the planes just poof away when you arrive at a colour adding that would just add another layer of complexity.
Yeah me as an aviation expert really hurts to watch this when someone doesn’t know waypoints and holding patterns.
He clearly does not play MSFS 2020 or watch ATC vids
Mix in those with a hold point foe go arounds when things get tight
As a pilot irl, when you uploaded the first vid, I installed this game faster than anything I’ve ever done. It’s super addictive. Just a warning, it gets really complicated on later
Respect for the pilot 🫡
I've had this as an android game for like 10 years now. :o
@@how2pick4name wdym? It just released?
@@Plab1402 Yeah, they stole the idea from an android game. I guess you have to spell everything out these days.
@@how2pick4name oh, my apologies for not understanding, they really did copy a android game? What is its name?
… oh RCE, never change.
Those Hold and Navigation Waypoints are pretty much essential to getting high scores, the hold in particular!
But I do absolutely want you to keep playing it! Far more entertaining than clickers, or even Hydroneer!
I saw those and I'm like, has RCE ever lived near an airport?! Because if he had, he'd know that the only way real Air Traffic Controller manage is by having planes circle. Of course, reality has this nice thing about having 3D space so that 2 planes can cross without even coming close to crossing!
7:10 oh it's captain sully saving everyone!
That was my first thought when I saw Cactus for the callsign, and realized it was 1549.
The easteregg of the hudson river crash is an interesting inclusion in the game! I wonder if theyll include other events that are similar in other cities
......but lets maybee not include New York in this game.......😅
For the crossover runway, an important consideration is the time a landing plane spends stopped on the runway to taxi, so you should think of both runways as being one-way heading AWAY from the crossover point. That way, when a plane lands on one runway, it doesn't sit there blocking the OTHER runway for a couple precious seconds. I generally take that one-way approach to all runways in this game, regardless of the level. I find it exponentially easier to control traffic to flow in a single direction, and if you always take off planes in the same direction you land them, you can minimize the wait time, and dramatically reduce the chances of a collision.
Also, with this pre-release demo, the leaderboard isn't actually active to the playing community. My record on the Tokyo level is over 400 points, for instance.
What's the tokyo strat? Do u use holds like missed approach holds? And waypoints like IAP?
2:20
In real life, it's the opposite: planes in the air have priority over planes on the ground.
The Miracle on the Hudson is considered the most successful emergency water landing by an airliner.
That was some architect level ATCing there.
Somethings I found out:
you can use destinations as makeshift waypoints for all traffic.
way I used waypoints was basically to normalize flight corridors, mainly for setting up inbounds on pre final approach, they work good as catch alls for inbounds, also sometimes for points where I needed a precise timed hard turn.
the holding patterns suck ass, I had only two planes in one, and they still somehow crashed into each other when one speed demon pilot caught up with the other.
Expedite upgrade seem to be only really worth it for like 4-5 upgrades, then they don't seem to affect the turn radius much more.
As a pilot of a BMW I would like to inform you that this is not your airport and we will land wherever we see fit. Your job is to keep our runways clear for us when we need them.
7:06 you missed a Breaking Bad Tuco clip
As someone flying to Kos tomoorow from England, I truely appreciate this video and PRAY Matt isn't an air traffic controller in his spare time
Kos... or some say... Kosm... grant eyes to the traffic controllers!
You can use other colored destinations as waypoints. Like you can use a blue waypoint to guide a red or gray etc
9:41 If only BMW started making jets, I mean, can't they just let the ban on BMW plane engines go? It's been 80 years already.
i got happy tingles when i saw the mayday say bird strike, lost both engines and returning to LaGuardia, because i actually knew what was being referenced.
Matt: commenting on how close together two planes will land.
Also Matt: NoOo ThEy CrAsHeD iNtO eAcH oThEr!?
BMW plane had me in tears while doing dishes, top tier
Matt needs to work for Boeing
u want him dead too?
@@rishiaman2288 no no no, he's the one doing the deading
I mean, that's some architect level controlling, he doesn't use waypoints at all
And I thought Biffa ran those planes in tight places, You stressed me out, Matt! LOL
6:15 the orange dot was at the bottom and glitched to the top and the orange plane switched runways...what kind of trickery is happening here matt???
It's called video editing. It jumped from the start of Day 4 to over halfway through Day 4. The destinations change position as you play
We have the blue angles
Angels
@@thomasphillips885the blue obtuses
The mute acutes
I can't see a game with an airport without being reminded of Skyrama and still this is a thousand times more complex than it! Keep up the good work, Matt!
As someone that works at the airport with the most runways in the world (it’s O’Hare, IL, USA with 8) I hope they have O’Hare in this game! He thinks 2 are bad!😂😂
There’s a reason airports don’t use crossing runways at the same time (it’s wind direction and wind speed)
Weird that New York is only the second level. It should be the level that is the ultimate test of your skills; basically if you can make it there, you can make it anywhere.
there are so many more difficult airports in this world, NY is nothing compared to them
choose the way point, it is the most must take upgrade of the game, and you will easier to queue up the approaching planes, like real world ATCs.
Every time you got an upgrade, I was like 'hold waypoint, hold waypoint NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO'
Bro is trying to recreate tenerifie disaster
Fr bro💀
12:43 i think you would love the Kai Tak Airport :)
it's fun to watch you do this! i recommend you try to get acclimated with the hold points more as they help once things REALLY get clogged
7:12 - That’s Sully!
Thanks for introducing me to this game, i love it!
If you and the viewers like this game, you should try Rail Route!
I'd love to see moar of Fly Corp and this game, Mini Airways!
5:40 that would be the Blue Angels. Close!
Its Blue Angels Matt! haha
Although...they are blue hornets...
I downloaded this after your first video and love it. Very addictive and stressful. I like the editor in there and made a map based on my local small airport. I just wish, for the runway length slider in the editor, that you could actually set the number of feet or meters for the runway, all it does is change the length without showing what the actual length is.
I love watching this game. Really satisfying and stressful at the same time. More!
I've had this on my tablet for like ten years now. Just the landing but it looks pretty much identical.
Nicely "borrowed" from the mini people.
Two Parallel runways and still lands and takes off from one runway... classic RCE.
Our airial acrobatics group is the Blue Angels.
Hehe, it's a fun series to watch, so keep them coming 😂
The correct american ATC terminology for „quick! afterburners! afterburners!“ is „no delay please“
Your crashes really make me want to play the game!
Play this more! is's super fun to watch you manage all the craziness
Yes pls do more of this!
C’mon man! Landing patterns! Great little series this one!
yeah would love to see another 1 of this .. hugs def adding this to games im getting for my partner
you moaned and said "oh that's tight" so many times that my boyfriend wondered what i was watching 😭
New mini game? Nice
fr
ugh, now I have to get this one too, tho motorways is still my favourite out of their games
It's a different developer, they're going to change the name to avoid confusion
@@Franimus gotcha, probably why I hadn't heard of the game, pretty sure I follow the devs of the other mini games. Think I'll still get the game tho, they nailed the stress vibes when stuff goes wrong
We want Motorway Matt back!
Airplane😮
Would love to see you play this again
That thumbnail is dangerous
I was thinking when are the going to land on the river and a minute later, there it went.
Imagine when Matt figures out how to use hold waypoints
1:44 ofc it's not cuz this is what he said
At 5:31 the yellow point is very sus
More Mini Airways, yes please!
Who wants to watch a game that is easy?!?
RCE should play Airport Madness Time Machine
i recommend playing crab treasure or something like that... very funny and weird game
7:30 wait there are ppl who dont know this? But i as a joke tough right after the plane told it has lost its engines that "it will probably land on the hudson river" but didnt think theyd actually do it
16:31: Since when an airplane leaving the airspace causes an airport to shutdown?!?!?!
You need to do another video but make sure you use waypoints next time. I want to see how you go with them
mom! wake up! rce posted another videos about Mini Airways!!!!
I know it’s wrong but I like to think this is what air traffic controllers see
11:53 gee I wonder what the hold waypoint is for?
It’s the blue angels
This game looks like fun!
Matt plz oh plz can we revive mini metro?? I’m dying for more
Like to see Matt trying a real atc sim.
Love this game
Please replay that puzzle game you got sponsored to play. I really enjoyed it and there still so much more for you to do
I'm screaming at my point to get Matt to use Hold waypoint instead of the expedite to resolve the too many planes in the air waiting to land situation...
Thanks for playing this, do make another video
How are you playing this game in the full release?
Free?
To be a bit realistic planes have to go at least 2 loops around the Shanghai airport before landing😆
You said "blue hornets" I think you meant "blue Angels" (the navy's flilght demonstration squadron) The "Thunderbirds" are the same thing but for the airforce.
the blue hornets hurt my soul
Why has matt become so successful. And why do i watch evry single video he posts?
I think I played this game on Nintendo DSI almost 15 years ago
The thumbnail really went dooku mode
Hi
day something of asking Matt to play nimby rails
The reason Shanghai airport is right next to restricted airspace is because a large portion of China is restricted, leading to irregular and angular airports
play the other airport game again, enjoyed that one.
In a different perspective this game is about kamikazeing planes into neighbor hoods, why couldnt they have made the map bigger to have other airports
A bit annoyed that planes receive TCAS alerts, but don't execute RAs
Lol. BMW. Classic.
7:26, US Airways 1549
More please!!!
♥️♥️♥️
Hello
more episodes please
RCE Jr.
👍
They actually put Captain Sully sullenbergers heroic landing in the Hudson in the game, US Airways Flight 1549 was struck by Canada gooses after takeoff at about 2.800 feet and because it took 35 seconds to Analyse the situation start the APU they couldn’t make it to any airport and ditched in the Hudson. I love how in the game the pilot says Cactus 1539. also how did Matt not realise at first it’s the Miracle of the Hudson. And surprisingly the flight path of the in game plane is pretty accurate to the real flight path.
Im watchong this at 2 a.m.
Please play this game again
LETS GOOOOOOOO
