I just got it.... been wanting a high end watch since I was 16, and now, I finally achieved this dream. Going by pictures, I wanted the standard blue version, especially since it has a display case. But when I got the opportunity to try the summer blue version, I just caved and bought it on the spot. It's fantastic. And looks cool, even on my extremely skinny wrist 🙂
@@ilpraghese337 Hello. I am the "K" from above. Probably not, your wrist is smaller than mine. I have issues with all Omega bracelets being adjustable enough to fit my small wrist. The 19mm lug to lug limits the replacement straps you can get that fit. The diameter of the case is a great fit for me, the thickness, however, is a different story. It will slide under the sleeve of a fleece but never disappear under a shirt cuff. Don't let that stop you going and trying one on.
I own the 39.5mm PO with the 8800 calibre, black glossy dial. It's a few years old. Absolutely gorgeous, thick but balanced, understated (i.e. it's not a Rolex) and versatile. Best bracelet and clasp on any watch I have ever owned or tried on, bar none.
I own a Diver 300M in white, so I'm an Omega fan. I think this Planet Ocean is the star of the 75th anniversary models by a significant margin. It just looks so relaxed and so right. Like a 15 year old pair of faded Levi's, a classic song by the Eagles, playing on the radio, or driving a classic convertible with the top down on a sunny day.
I have a blue 300m. Just wish the bezel was lumed. Have not taken it off since I got it almost 4 years ago. Would love a black planet ocean one of these days tho
I loved this version so much I sold a bunch of my other watches just to acquire it. It's my favorite watch and I've been collecting for nearly 30 years. It will get by far the most wrist time.
I've owned a PlanetOcean since 2010. It's a tank. Indestructible. I never take it off. Not for diving obviously, but even when performing the most gruelling tasks in the yard, in construction, anything. Other than the minor scratch, it looks like new. Had it maintained for the first time earlier this year (by Omega), and it's ready for many more years. My son is asking me if he can get it as an early inheritance...
Great story, glad to hear of high end watches really being put to the test so they can show us how tough they really are. As for your son, it will be alot more special to him when your gone. Obviously the choice is yours but id say definitely dont give it to him early.
@@BurritoSenorI disagree. I’m 1000% absolutely bias though as my Dad gave me his Seamaster 300m Professional when I was in my late 20’s and I think about him and that moment every time I look at it. I can’t wait to do the same thing to my future son later down the line so we can enjoy watches together like I do with my old man
I have one of these. Love it. The Lume is rather week and like all Omega bracelets it doesn't quite adjust small enough to be comfortable on my 6 and a 1/2 inch wrist. The dial is spectacular, shifting from grey to bright light blue to a deeper blue. The contrast of the hands and depth of dial makes it remarkably easy to read the time in low light, just as well considering the rubbish lume on it. In summary, Don't Buy One. I want mine to stay rare and be worth a fortune in years to come because people to didn't realise just how good they were at the time. My Planet Ocean Summer Blue has become my go to watch.
Just had to take my BB58 in for repair so thought while I was out and about I’ll browse the AD’s. Looked at the usual Rolex offerings and while they were ok nothing really grabbed my heart strings. Went over to the Omega side of the store and the PO in summer blue stood out by a country mile. It is absolutely gorgeous in the flesh. Always promised myself a modern Omega and this could be it 🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤
Amazing watch. Love the lume on the bezel. It's the perfect watch. I own the PO 39.5 in black. People say it's thick. Not at all, the dome sapphire adds 1.3mm. So really, it is 13mm thick.
This is my favorite of the 75th anniversary releases. Size and dial color are perfect for me. I've been waiting on one from my boutique. They haven't received one since the initial delivery.
The Planet Ocean has the best, most comfortable bracelet and clasp combo. I don't mind the HEV, I don't mind the thickness, I'm just waiting for the perfect color way (I'll know it when I see it). Cool video, Teddy. Thanks!
I hate myself for not discovering this watch sooner. Bought an unworn 2021 39.5 in black a few months ago, and now I am lusting after this but I have no more watch funds. If I had known in advance I wouldn't have bought the black version

Well done, Omega, well done. Ok, I've mocked what I wanted to, now I'll say that I really do like the watch. It's not perfect (too much brushing, hate the He escape wart, not quite enough power reserve for this much money as Teddy pointed out) but it is, on the whole, very nice. I'm seriously considering one and will only be able to make up my mind when I see it in-the-metal, so to speak, and can try it on.
Great review! I have a black 43,5 mm. 8900 which I like very much. I wish they would have done that model in sommer blue also. Correction: ZrO2 is Zirkonium dioxide so "O" is the letter O, not the number zero.
I have a 2016 Metas PO in 39.5 which has been my daily since the day I got it and I absolutely love it. I also love that I asked for this video earlier this week and now here it is 🙌🏻 finally the PO gets some love from Teddy!
I had a mid size smp300 for 15 years, I wore that watch every day for every situation, it was my only watch. This Planet Ocean will be the replacement to that watch.
This watch is awesome, Beautiful . Certified for 600 m is always a performance in the design and machining of a watch . The seamaster collection become a monument in the watch industry.
Just bought the Summer Blue Diver 300M version a few days before this video, so I'm very relieved to see Teddy's approval! I know people say this about every watch, but the official photos for the Diver 300M really don't do the dial justice at all. It has a striking holographic and fume aesthetic that I wasn't expecting. In combination with the blue lume markers and date window, it looks like it's underwater. I'm glad I saw it in person, because I think some of these releases are really unique.
Me too. Just watched the video and I agree. My OB texted me they have something that might interes me. Went in thinking I was going to get the SMP300 summer blue but when they said they just got in a PO summer blue, after looking at it, I fell in love and walked out with it. Been a pretty good year for me. Picked up my Speedy 321, this PO summer blue and told I will receive my Snoopy 50th before end of this year.
Perfect research and analysis Teddy and team! This watch is on my short list along with the new Tudor GMT and Rolex Explorer. My local A.D. at Bucherer Rolex store is also a big fan of your channel. Teddy, please think about opening up your outstanding line of watch selections as an authorized dealer to include Tudor and Omega in the future. Thanks again for your education of the community. I am ordering my fourth watch from Jon at the end of this month.
PO in 39.5 is my daily desk diver. At 14.4mm it wears great under a shirt cuff, and is not too thick at all. The He escape valve adds character and heritage: how many of us have complications on our watches we don’t really need any more: chronographs, moonphases etc. that serve a purpose to other users? The tech specs, design, legibility and wearability mean the PO gets the most wear from my collection.
When they released the anniversary watches, the Planet Ocean was the only one that I thought was actually cool enough to buy. Maybe the Ultra Deep for the specs, but this PO is definitely on the list.
ive always loved the look of the Planet Ocean over the seamaster 300. I feel the 300 looks very dated in design. This watch just looks way better and has a much more modern design that i never get tired of looking at.
The Ploprof I would say is by far the standout model from the collection. It's the only watch with a truly new design and from everything I've seen so far online (it's not out yet) it's extremely well conceived. Hope you actively look for an opportunity to review it!
That dial and color scheme is stunning!! Given the 39.5mm case diameter WHY are these piece all so thick?!?! If Omega could slim these down by 2-3mm in relation to other such divers (Rolex, Glashutte Original, etc...) they'd be fantastic! Also, why the 19mm bracelet size vs a more standard 20mm... many more options available for that. Nick-picking I know, but for what Omega is charging for these they should make it closer to perfect.
@@swiftusmaximus5651 no argument on the depth ratings... but how many of us would EVER even sniff 600m's of water depth while wearing this? I'd be happy w/ a 200-300m ISO depth rating and case thickness of 11-12mm. If that ever happens I'll buy one of these.
@@ericmoss8344so buy another watch then, 14mm isnt thick... internet made people think its thick and now everyone reads numbers and complain before having the watch in the hands. Sheeps
If they would just recess the bezel, they could save another 1-1.5mm. Even as such, the thickness of this watch is not bad compared to monsters that Omega has created in the past. I think the watch is great.
I love PO summer blue. My OB texted me saying they just got one in and if I wanted to come see it. Needless to say, I walked out with it. This watch is stunning person.
The best diver in my opinion. Cool looking, great specs. Guess pictures of videos are not doing it justice, need to see it in person. Great vid as always. 👍
Beautiful watch! I went with the Diver 300. I like the heritage look and since the only diving I am likely to do is in a swimming pool it was just a better choice for me.
I was fortunate to pick up the new Aqua Terra 41 soon after it was released and I love the dial. Photos don't do it justice. The Planet Ocean was tempting but I wanted a dressier look.
Thanks for the video👍, great review. I do love the colour but the black and orange is still my favourite with the white face/orange bezel close behind as the bezel incorporates Lume, why can’t they do that with all the bezels! I do however think that Omega are missing a trick! The PLANET OCEAN is an iconic watch but not every one wants a 14mm thick watch, like Tudor have done with the Pelagos, make a thinner version waterproof to 200/300m, more of a multi sport watch, seriously, how many people actually use these watches at 600m!! The Seamaster is a good watch but it is not the Planet Ocean, I would buy a thinner one with less depth ability, it would fit under a shirt sleeve better and make a lot of people happy.
It is most certainly a stunning piece,as for the polarizing feature ,get over it !! It’s there for a reason . As for the size 39.5 is a nice one size fits all ,but it’s actually the 1 feature that makes me hesitate to buy it . I would prefer the 43 mm but in titanium , because unlike most of the desk divers that will buy it I’m an actual diver who will use it for its intended purpose .
I placed an order for this a week ago at a good sized discount from my gray dealer. It’ll take about 6 weeks to get it from Omega. I was hoping to get it by X’mas but right now I’ll be lucky if I get it before the New Year’s.
I’m fun of Breitling watches especially Breitling Superocean I have one of these and i’m more than happy. 😊 When I see Omega Planet Ocean i was really shocked 😳 because really is amazing watch and stronger watch very high quality and so on…
Such a gorgeous, stunning watch! To me the case, profile and dial is looking a bit more like the 2500 Planet Ocean which was heavily influenced by the vintage 300 Seamaster watch
Thank you for making this video! Finding an in-depth review on this piece has been surprisingly difficult. I’m not a fan of the high gloss/shimmering look that the PO has become, but this watch seems a bit more muted with the brushed dial. Would you agree? Or does it still feel pretty blingy in the flesh?
I’m also not a fan of the current high gloss modern POs. IMO this version is significantly less blingy. I’d say only slightly more blingy compared to a blue BB58.
I believe the reason why Omega opted with 39.5mm case instead of the 43mm for the Planet Ocean is because the later size is too "similar" to the Ultra Deep, making the PO seemingly "redundant".
I think it's a pity they chose the 39mm PO for the 75th Anniversary colours, imho the 43.5mm version has better overall dimensions considering the case thickness. Coming from someone who has a small wrist but isn't afraid to wear a larger watch.
Just purchased a Planet Ocean, but unfortunately the Tan version. The only thing that swayed me was this one 39.5mm and the Tan was 43mm. They both are beautiful time pieces. I just might save to get this one as well.
The crazy thing is Omega knows exactly what they can do but refuse to do it. This watch already has the dial inspired by their older models and if they just lose the helium escape valve this would be an instant classic that derived from omega heritage without being a vintage inspired/reissue.
My old bond Seamaster was 11mm thick....I appreciate this is 600m depth rating, but I would really love these to be at the 12-12.5mm thickness.... too chunky for me unfortunately
If Omega Planet Ocean is supposed to be a real professional dive watch, the helium escape valve doesn't bother me at all. What bothers me personally is when a watch dial with big numerals at 3, 6, 9, and 12 positions, omits one of the numerals (usually numeral 3) and instead displays a date window. To me, those dials always look out of balance as if they chopped off the right side of the dial. Why Omega? If a watch company like Omega really feels that a professional diver watch needs a date window, put it at position 4 or between 4 and 5. Take a look at the beautiful and balanced dial of the Omega Seamaster 300 Heritage without a date window. Another major thing that bothers me personally is the display case back window on any dive watch especially if it adds extra thickness to the case. What is a display for? I don't care if the movement was made by Vacheron Constantin with the Geneva Seal. The display case back window doesn't bother me on classic Diver-style watches made of fancy metals like gold, bronze gold or silver, like some Tudor, Omega and other watches. Omega Planet Ocean is one of the best and most beautiful dive watches ever made and this model at 2:32 with a rubber strap is amazing but an unbalanced dial would always bother me.
I’d have to argue the planet ocean 39.5 is an objectively better watch than the sub. On the fly clasp adjustment, meta certification, see through case back, 600M water resistance, 45.5mm lug to lug distance, all make it a superior watch. The only downside is the bracelet, which would be perfect if it’s 20mm tapering to 18mm.
Really good looking watch, like the size, just thickness is a bit more. I like the strap design more then seemaster 300. I have the ruber and it is good.
I like the planet ocean handset but prefer the symmetry offered by the dial and bezel of the seamaster professional 300m diver. The date placement and having a 10 on the bezel makes the difference for me😂
Whenever I consider an Omega diver (“pre-owned” simply because I am a cheapskate), the HEV stops me in my tracks. At best I am a swimmer and no longer a diver and an Omegs HEV looks like a barnacle on an otherwise beautiful case. I know, Omega would say “just by the Omega Seamaster 300.” Fair point.

I’m fun of Breitling watches especially Breitling Superocean I have one of these and i’m more than happy. 😊
When I see Omega Planet Ocean i was really shocked 😳 because really is amazing watch and stronger watch very high quality and so on…
My favorite Omega, period.
Um, thinking of buying one... thanks for sharing. Liked and subscribed. John
Other than the back. To me, this is a great looking watch. The bracelet and micro adjustment are move towards Rolex comfort. Thanks
Such a gorgeous, stunning watch! To me the case, profile and dial is looking a bit more like the 2500 Planet Ocean which was heavily influenced by the vintage 300 Seamaster watch
That's a beauty of a 🔵🔵 dial, Teddy B
People who complain about the helium escape valve are free to buy a less authentic dive watch.
I like the Mido multifort you have that watch pre own.
Love the color. And that dial is a bit reminiscent for me of the Railmaster.
At this price point I'd take this Planet Ocean anyday over a basic OP.
I think for me it is tough to choice between the Aqua Terra and the Planet Ocean.
Same. So I got both 😂
Thank you for making this video!
@@thestkedne2410 that’s a really helpful comparison. I like the BB58 blue
Omega = take my money. Love all of mine.
Astonishing beautiful watch
Great video. Nitpicking: ZrO2 is letter O not zero. O2 stands for dioxide.
So bummed that they didnt release this in 43.5, a 39.5 is too small for my 7.75" wrist. Sadge, such a beautiful watch.
Looks great, but i would rather have the date window at 6, and framed - or no date at all.
Very similar dial to the hydroconquest by longines, which is the same company. Nice watch.
Love this sooo much !
The crazy thing is Omega knows exactly what they can do but refuse to do it. This watch already has the dial inspired by their older models and if they just lose the helium escape valve this would be an instant classic that derived from omega heritage without being a vintage inspired/reissue.
But then it just looks like "every other dive watch"...
@@Sirkelsag666 no, it looks like an omega 300 that evolves with time and still very much omega. Every other dive watch looks like it haha
i like the helium valve - it sets it apart
@@frankmai1824 Helium escape valve gives it some character. I love how it makes the watch look. Very distinctive.
I'm brand new to watches but man this is a smooth brain comment 🤣🤣.
What's most silly about the He release valve is that you can unscrew the crown and let the He out that way.
My old bond Seamaster was 11mm thick....I appreciate this is 600m depth rating, but I would really love these to be at the 12-12.5mm thickness.... too chunky for me unfortunately
Nice Video Teddy my favorite is the Seamaster 300 summer blue Edition. The Planet Ocean is to thick.
Thank you beautiful video and beautiful watch...
Really good looking watch, like the size, just thickness is a bit more. I like the strap design more then seemaster 300. I have the ruber and it is good.
Omega 😍
Sounds wild but wish it showed the movement I. The back ....half of the back being a case design and half showing movement that would be so unique
Beautiful watch and theBlue amaycing.sorry my english.😅
At 2k feet I may finally need that helium escape valve.
I would have bought one no question asked if it was a black or red sunburst shade to compliment my 39.5mm black.
