Now this is an absolute classic Disney ride. Has it all - atmosphere, smell, nostalgia, relaxing, informative and an escape from the heat! Hope it doesn't get refurbed, love it.
I completely agree Richard! I love everything about this attraction. I honestly would be totally fine if they never changed this version, but I am sure they will eventually
the only thing i’d say is that from this past trip i’ve had that the mechanics were super loud and almost deafening to any speaking on the ride. a non extensive refurbishment would be nice
It's the last ride left at Epco that is truly educational. Guardians of the Galaxy, Test Track the Seas with Nemo and Friends is all purely entertainment.
until you get upset over the ancient Mesopotamia erasure. fav category and they don't even get a shout out for sumerian math predating most of the world. love this ride but love Mesopotamia more :(
This usurped Carousel of Progress as my favorite old school ride. Carousel smells too musty now, and the last scene is lame. Plus our group got stuck in there and had to watch it twice. I thought they were going to force us to watch it a third time, but thankfully, they got it moving again. Spaceship Earth was way better. I liked the People Mover, too. I hadn’t done that one before, either.
Just how I remember it. It was one of my favourite rides at Epcot as a kid. I remember the burning sulfur at the start of the ride and the aminatronics throughout. Nostalgia.
I love this ride so much , and it’s such a classic ride for me to ride at Disney , for the nostalgia and the memories . I love it so much. especially the part where they tell your future and my Grandpa love that part . We always enjoy it and laugh at the way we look in the picture .
My parents had taken me to this place when I was an infant, 30 years ago. Good to see it still exists and I'd like to make the trip again someday, maybe when I have kids of my own.
I’ve seen several videos with POV’s on this ride. This is the first one I’ve seen that included the narrative that goes along with it. This was fantastic. Thank you so so much!
When I went to epcot i expected test track or mission space to be my favorite but everything about this ride just completely adored by me. I dont know how to describe what i felt when going on this ride except just pure enjoyment
Not to get too deep but I feel the same way, and I think it's because it creates a sense of oneness with our history. Even though these events occurred hundreds or thousands of years ago, we feel a connection with them because they led to where we are today. Plus the ending really drives home the idea that we are just as much a part of history as them, with what I think is a very hopeful message. "So here’s to the next 30,000 years on Spaceship Earth. While no one knows for sure what we’ll see or do, I do know it will be quite an adventure-an adventure that we’ll take and make together. See you in the future!"
This was so great. It’s been over 20 years since I’ve been on this ride. How wonderful to really get the full experience again. Thanks so much take care 👍😁💕
Oh my gosh, I enjoyed this so much!! We are from the UK and don’t know when we will get back to Florida for many reasons, this is one of my favourite rides & it brings back so many happy memories so a big thank you 🙏😊
This is a wonderful project. Thank you for videotaping this for those of us who like to reminisce about this ride. There are also those who can’t afford to experience it that can also enjoy it because of you doing this. Thank you! ❤
Thanks for the ride on Spaceship Earth, a must ride at Epcot. When they refurbish this should be interesting to see what Disney does. Y'all take care, my friend
No problem at all Dennis! Yes, i hope that the new version will be just as enjoyable, if not better than the current version. I really love the ride currently so I am a little nervous for the changes. Thank you so much Dennis!
Thanks so much for taking the time to capture such a fantastic copy of the current version of Spaceship Earth, it's interesting to see what it's become, personally think the Jeremy Irons version musically, and with the city scape at the end is infinitely better. I just wish there's a video of that and of the same great quality like your video. Thanks again for posting this 🙂 also from what I'm seeing I think it's being changed again!
Thank you Rob! I really like the Jeremy Irons version too, but i think this version with Judi Dench became my overall favorite over the years. Although the ending descent with the screens I could do without lol. It was supposed to close in 2020 for a massive overhaul that was going to take 2-3 years to do! But Disney canceled the project due to the pandemic. I’m sure it will happen eventually, but who knows when. Thanks for watching!
I love this ride! Even if they do end up updating it I hope they keep the history of communication aspect. This is one of the best rides at EPCOT Center!
Thank you for this great video! This has always been a unique dark ride. Educational and entertaining. The giant ' Golf Ball ' too is a Disney iconic structure , hopefully staying and showcasing our history and new technologies far into the future!!
It’s my pleasure Julie! This ride has always been one of my favorites at WDW. I could ride it continuously and it would never get boring to me haha. Thanks for watching 😃
Thank you so much Tomas! Yes, it will be interesting to see if they wait for October 1st exactly to turn those new lights on, or if they do it a little earlier
This was one of my absolute favorites when we went two years ago ! We went on a girls trip and as a celebration for a personal Medical issue I was having and got some good news about . This trip was awesome ! What I love about Epcot is there is a nice mix of high thrill rides and then these rides where you can lay back, relax and enjoy what you are watching . It’s educational and fun at the same time!
I was at Epcot last Thursday and we got stuck on this ride and had to be evacuated so I didn’t get to ride all the way through. This was a great video that allowed me to see what I missed.
Thank you for this great video of one of my favorite WDW rides. I especially enjoy the music and narration that goes with it, and often just listen to that (which I downloaded separate from a video of the ride). As always, great job, and God Bless...
It is my pleasure Ken! This ride has been my favorite WDW ride for years. I really love the narration by Judi Dench. Her voice is extremely soothing to me lol. Thanks for watching as always Ken!
In the mid 90s I was a little kid and too scared to ride this. I made my family miss out and always regretted it. Then this past January, we went back and did it together, 26 years later.
I went to Disney world for when I was 13 I went for two weeks and stayed at the all star movies resort, was very blessed and fortunate to have gone to each park atleast 2 times I think Epcot and magic kingdom 3 or 4 times and the ride that always stood out to me was this one this ride blew me away & i cannot wait to one day my my family there and do all the fun stuff I did then all over again Disney world is honestly awesome and I think it’s gonna be my next obsession
🌐The characters were zoomed in such a way I saw some new details, hard esp. because some lighting was out & they were in the dark. The sleeping monk probably liked it that way though. LOL THX. 4.
This ride basically summarized all the history I learned over years of school into 9 minutes 😂. Maybe we should all just take a trip to EPCOT instead lol.
Its fun how they knew in the past what comes in the Future at the end. The VR Glasses (looks like the Google Glass) , self driving Cars (like Tesla) and Virtual Meetups via PC.
I have a Sony A7SIII with a fast 1.4 lense and its just awesome for these kind of filming. I love the excellent low light on this camera. This is why the footage is so clean. As they say, you have to pay to play. My setup up is upwards of about $5k. So worth it.
Just like MK Carousel of Progress, Epcot’s Spaceship Earth is a classic must ride every time I visit. Know the entire script. Lol. Favorite is “Remember how easy it was to learn your ABC’s? Thank the Phoenicians-they invented them.”
Yes, i got in about 5 minutes before the park closed! I could ride Spaceship Earth continuously and I’d never get tired of it haha. Thanks for watching as always Freya! 😃
One of my favorite rides at Epcot! I prefer the earlier version with Jeremy Irons narrating. The ending was much better without all of the corny Jetson's cartoon stuff. Thanks for the nicely done video!
I really love this ride too. My favorite at Epcot by far! Both Judi Dench and Jeremy Irons did a fantastic job narrating for their version of the ride. Thanks for watching!
My preference for narration was Walter Cronkite for this ride-don’t know why but that’s just me. And yes they can definitely do without the jetsons cartoon stuff at the end.
I got to go in 1989 as a kid and this is one of the rides I remember the most. My memory is hazy but I didn't remember it being quite this cool. Granted, as a kid I didn't really care about history and culture as much as I do as an adult, lol.
I remember this ride from about 12 years ago when we went to Disney world with my family. We went on this one several times and one time we got stuck on the way up, and on the way down during the same ride 😂
I went on this ride back in 1999 and I got scared on it. Thankfully, my dad rode on it with me and it took him a while to calm me down. Everytime when I think about it, the ride is not so bad.

I completely agree Richard! I love everything about this attraction. I honestly would be totally fine if they never changed this version, but I am sure they will eventually
if they kept everything the same except the ending, it'd be the perfect history ride.
Hi Richard. I agree completely! I also love the music which I often listen to.
Now, if they'd only leave Splash Mountain alone...
I love the smell of musty animatronics.
the only thing i’d say is that from this past trip i’ve had that the mechanics were super loud and almost deafening to any speaking on the ride. a non extensive refurbishment would be nice
This has still remained my favorite Disney ride of all time. There’s just something so special and nostalgic about it!
I agree! Such a classic

Yes from mammoths to your own future spaceship earth is a masterpiece
You're probably over weight and boring too

Best POV of spaceship earth ive seen 👏🏻
Agreed, this guy is good.
I really appreciate that, thank you so much!
Thank goodness this is a slow ride
Amazing that all of that was put in that big ball! :)
I love going on this ride with my dad since I was a little girl. We go to Disney every year and this is the highlight of the trip for me.

@M M that would be brilliant - it would have to be thought out very carefully as our weather is so variable but yes a great idea!

I rode this over four times when I was there, definitely a favorite!
I remember going on this with my cousin in 2016. The good ol days
I love old school EPCOT!

This is seriously one of my favorite rides at Disney. I love learning about history just slap Disney on it I’ll ride more times then I can lol
This is one ride I’d like to see with the lights on and see how the track looks
You wouldn't want to see it with the lights on, when i rode it in 1989 the lights came on and there are tracks winding all over that ball
What happened to the song it used to have now is the time now is the best time?

Sad that Disney powers decided to remove this ride. It was a great ride.
They decided to refurbish the ride, not remove it. But that was postponed.
Wonderful.
Thank you for the video, except there was a cut around the 1:57 mark. Do you have a full ride through with no cuts? Thank you.
I am so into history and Egypt so I would love this ride. But the closest Disney park to me is California’s DisneyLand!
Who does the narration? This was the 1st ride we rode at Epcot back in 1985.
Dame Judi Dench currently does the narration! Vic Perrin was the narrator back in 1985
