- This game stuck in my head for quiet some time...lets play a short series that dives a little deeper into the gameplay and other aspects of the game and automation. Goal is to make a fully autonomous setup, with shunting yards and lots of trains.
Rail Route is a puzzle train tycoon builder with a lot of opportunities for automation and high complexity. You are responsible for train dispatching, scheduling, contract work and rail network construction.

I found at least two issues today.
1. One minute preparation time for your regional trains is not enough, all your trains arrive at the platform with one minute delay and they can't catch up, so you don't earn red points.
2. The regio you set up at 19.30 o'clock will always be late. You scheduled it, to arrive at Frankfurt Süd the same time, as it leaves Griesheim. So it needs to be infinite fast. The time from departure till arival determines the average speed (displayed in the journey path). Your job is to evaluate, if this speed is realistically possible (track speed, slowdowns due to switches, traffic,...) and adjust if necessary.

Rail Route is very different with a large realistic map. I can recommend "Karlsruhe & Surroundings" on the Steam Workshop. There you have a lot to do: Start with your commuter trains, and local freight (by this scale, everything in the standard maps is "local"). You will have unlocked T3 Green and T2 Red with Shunting circuits and tunnels pretty quickly, but T3 Red is a real challenge. And I am still working at it.
By this time, you have all your local network around Karlsruhe Hbf running, but now it gets more complicated:
- IC trains and later regional trains want to pass the whole map, Baden Baden - Karlsruhe - Wilferdingen-Singen, passing through a dozen different regional stations.
- The scenic one-rail freight routes through the Black Forest, that spiral and wind up the mountains, through a long tunnel, and arrive at isolated Industrial factories on the top.
- Many ultra-local stations do not have contracts on their own. So the only way to serve them is Urban Traffic (Stadtbahn), that begin at a yard building next to large station like Karlsruhe, Rastatt or Bruchsal, and they serve the local stations and then have to come back again into the yard.
There are countless projects that you can take, and basically an endless hell of optimization.
I've spent over 10 hours to get the stabling sensor to work. There's not one video showing it on a terminus station. But, I'll try adding a signal on the "buffers" and disable auto-reverse and see if that works

12:18: I think der Arrival exclamation mark is, that you can't go earlier in the schedule, because of the break between leg 1 and 2. If you would go earlier, the pause is not as long as the schedule say.
The Depature exclamation mark is the same for wait at least 1min at the station. You can wait 2min at the station, but you waste 1min of the time while the station is occupied.
So to see the exclamation mark is ok, but you shouldn't click to go earlier because the schedule doesnt allow.
