I just saw the Federal University of Nigeria Abuja & the buildings seem to be more modern but they need maintenance on the grass coz it's overgrown in certain parts.

Hi Lily. Thanks for selling Ghana to the world. I like the videos you’ve produced. However, I wish to suggest for your consideration a few things that would improve the content.
Please concerning the school videos you can do a bit more research to add certain details like
1. Number of campus and Student population,
2. Work force (professionals & support staff)
3. Courses offered and areas of specialty/comparative advantage
4. Number of hall & hostels with their capacity
5. Highlight on centers of excellence
6. Sports facilities
6. Other facilities available to the general public (shopping centers, hospitals/clinics, preschools and primary schools) on and off campus etc.
These and more will enrich the content. So for University of Ghana alone you could get like 3 videos or more. Some for KNUST, UCC, UDS, UHAS, GIMPA, UPSA etc.

Lilly speaks the truth. Nigerians talk big but the truth is their institutions are as corrupt as the noise they make. Ghana is small Ghana yes, but when it comes to education, apart from South Africa, Ghana is the best place where people flock to study.
The British built Ibadan University for West Africa. but Gold Coasters clamoured for their own.
Therefore the
University of Ghana started as the University of the Gold Coast in 1948 at Achimota College through the efforts of the local intelligenstia and certain prominent chiefs who lobbied the colonial administration and also provided some resources-cash and the land for the present site at Legon.

You can’t compare University of Abuja that commenced yesterday with the University of Ghana, Levon, that commenced years ago. Compare the Ghana university with their equivalents like Obafemi Awolowo University, Ahmadu Bello University, UNN, University of Lagos. Thanks.

University of Ghana was built by the British during the colonial period to serve as the only university for British West Africa.

@@michaelmensah1836 Bro, you need to read. It was built in 1948 by the British, then university of Gold Coast affiliated to the university of London. Nkrumah changed the name, expanded it and put up more structures. Besides if it hadn’t been J.B. Danquah, the British would’ve built it in Nigeria.

It wasn’t built by THE BRITISH
The ashantihene, PREMPEH the second, gave the money to the state to start LEGON
It was the asantehene who gave the initial seed money for the project to start after the BRITISH told us that, they can’t have that initial amount of monies to start as they were at that time, building another university in Nigeria and Sierra Leone!
The British wanted to build a small college for us but ASANTEHENE stepped in and used his COCOA FUNDINGS as well as GOLD to start the project
Is all because tribalism that’s why they don’t want to NAMED LEGON after him just as Ashanti’s agreed to named KWAME NKRUMAH after the university in Kumasi!

When the British didn’t want to fund these projects, asantehene, nana SIR AGYEMANG prempeh the second, gave an initial amount for the project to start and mobilized all the cocoa farmers in his kingdom to contribute for the project to take off!
