I make some Breakfast on the Discada, Skottle, Cowboy Wok, Disc and then go for a ride in the desert around Las Vegas and talk about the state of e-bikes. "Juiced CampScrambler "is my e-bike.(Not an affiliate)
Thanks, Steve. You gave me a great idea with this video to just do day trips into remote areas near my home just for a few hours! I could have a picnic, take a hike, ride my bike, read a book or whatever, in peace and solitude. Then, I'd be home later so my family wouldn't worry. I definitely need to do that. Thanks for the video and idea!
You are definitely living the life. Simple stress free and happy. Can’t wait to do what you do. Connection with nature has a way of healing and bringing peace and happiness into our lives. Thank you for sharing your experience and knowledge.
Thank you Steve for taking us along with your ride. Many of us can only life such a life through your generous sharing.
I’ve lived here all my life and never knew about all the solo camping opportunities until this channel. Gotta start wandering beyond Mt. Charleston. Thanks Steve
You are the most budget friendly camper I've seen and the one that actually is closer to what I want to do
I enjoyed the video and the "talk". Thanks Steve
Guys like you are very good for the electric bike industry My Man👍🏻 love the videos💯💯💯
Content is great and the background music is so refreshing. Calm and kind.
I've watched this vid several times. Such a fun trip! Thanks for sharing your adventure!
LOVE THAT BIKE STEVE, NICE AND SIMPLE GET YOU AROUND FROM POINT A TO POINT B AWESOME!!! AND LOVE THE BREAKFAST TOO!!
The wok did a great job cooking everything in one pan. Really enjoyed this video.
That was so fun to watch. Thank you.
Last February I stayed in the Las Vegas region for more then a week in my van and Found so much to see and do around, you’re so right the sunsets, the natural wonders!!! I loved it
Thanks for sharing this video, great video.
Breakfast and a bike ride. Life is good. Thanks for sharing Steve.
Always happy for a new video. 😀
Watching your video at 8 pm.... Man the breakfast looks good !
“One bacon, two bacon, three bacon. . . Mr. Eggs” 😂
I’m envious of the solitude you’ve found. Good point - hard to get away from our minds 🤔😣
I love that cook system!
They are getting more popular. Works for me.
Love your e-bike. If you ever use the CO2 inflator, remember that the gas cartridge will become frostbite cold. Use a glove or other insulator to protect your hand. And, CO2 will leak from a bike inner tube faster than air. When convenient bleed the CO2 from your tire and inflate the tire with air.
Food always tastes so much better cooked outdoors! Thanks for the adventure!
Something to consider purchasing is better tent staves. I have been using these for decades. I used to be involved in a medieval reenactment and had a huge tall canvas "circus tent" One storm most of them went down, mine didn't because of the stakes they look like these...seems to be harder to find. My first set were clearly made by hand but put in at a 45' angle, these guys hold real well. I use 2 at each corner of my awning they hold very well and to pull them out without killing yourself, pull them out at the angle, not straight up :) I am almost done with my 2010 Transit Connect Build, I have a 2020 Montague Paratrooper mountain bike that was designed for paratroopers because it folds. I designed my van build so the bike will fit nicely between the couch and galley while driving. I bought a Bafang 1000 watt mid drive motor (with an extended 2 year warranty off of Amazon, so at least if it dies I will get the money back to buy a new one) and a 52v 23.1 amp battery that will go on the back rack. I do leather work, so will build a nice bag that the battery can fit into and also carry some tools, just need to design how it will stay in place. I had a back injury at my last job and I am now disabled(still waiting for the Fed Govt to approve it, takes years sadly). I loved camping and exploring in nature so that's why I am doing what I do. Happy Travel's
Xplorer Steve went missing in the desert. His white 4runner was found with no sign of Xplorer Steve. Authorities suspect he went for a bike ride with little water and could not find his way back. Bike tracks were found in the sand with Coyote tracks in hot pursuit. We just hope his battery lasts longer than the Coyotes in pursuit! Good luck Xplorer Steve! 🐺
Someone inform Cosmo!
At least it can't fall on him like the Grom.😂
Xplorer Steve was found alive! Apparently he fell on a cactus! Injured, but he will mend in the coming weeks. -Enjoyed the ride and scenery! Some views can be desolate! A great reminder that we live on a planet, within the solar system!
Mmmm...I can smell that bacon though the internet...yummy! Thanks for the ebike ride.
Come on out to Quartzsite during Camp Hobotech in January. You will have a good time!
More food time please. I like watching mukbangs and food videos too. Another safe ride!
Will do!!
Steve, really like your video.....keep up!
Really enjoying your videos .
Thank you for sharing your thoughts on the juice and other ebikes...
Nice breakfast, Great outing. TAKE CARE..
If you put some vinegar and detergent in a spray bottle, you can reduce your wash water usage by a big margin.
(Not that you need to if you are only going away for a day or two.)
@MetaView7 I was going to say that since that's what I do as well, but I don't think vinegar is proper in this case as the pan is carbon steel. Correct me if I'm wrong!🤪
Now that's what I call social distancing! Great stuff Steve...what a life. Aloha guy!
You got that right!
You cook breakfast in the bush better than I do in my kitchen,
Looks really peaceful out there indeed! Thanks for the video
Nice bike Steve ! With my hips I would just use all electric....no pedaling. Ty4Sharing
Thumbs up.
Wolf
Love the ebike. Great set up. Looking to do the same with my van. Just takes money. lol
Like the gloves Steve!!
You are the best - just what I needed on this Saturday - Cheesehead Approves
I personally know someone who knows Steve, and he tells me you are a smart guy and a good guy... #teamzebra I enjoy your videos...AAA+++
Heyah. Message received. Enjoy a fabulous life!
I think I’m starting to live vicariously through you.
I too have done this, but then one day I found myself free...Happily retired.
Xplorer Steve DIY , I’m happy for you. Many years from now , maybe their go I .
Howdy! Hope you and your loved ones are well. Hope to see more content some day soon... if not then that's ok, 😌 Cheers!
I just started following you. I gotta say, I like your style, man.
I appreciate that!
Just a suggestion to look into (depends on the rims) setting your cycle tires up as “tubeless”.
It would make your tires less prone to flats and would actually lighten the bike up a bit.
I've put over 1500 miles on my RadCity ST and I would recommend mine to almost any one. It's affordable and good quality. They were in so high demand I had to try several times to get the order in back in 2018. I've modded mine to haul lots of groceries and it gets me in and out of downtown faster than a car during rushhour. I really couldn't ask for anything more.
Rads are at the top of the heap.
@@XplorerSteveDIY Really? I never really looked at anything else besides the sur ron but because of the full suspension on it they didn't have any rear baskets available and I knew I wanted to use it for hauling. If I were in your shoes I would look at something like the sur ron because you can legally get more power for offroad use while 750 watts is the legal limit for on road use.
Good info as usual.
Really enjoying the Saturday upload schedule. Something good to look forward to at the beginning of the weekend. I'm glad you got over your fear of eating on camera.
Nice video really like it
Man Steve makes me happy we already have plans to move to Novada and I have become a new subscriber Thank you shine on LoL the other hope you get the joke
That bacon looks great!
Steve your videos are better and better, real life adventures is where it's at. Thank you bro
Very good!^^
Enjoyed the video. Thank you for sharing.
So what was your dinner? Food always tastes better outdoors and your appetite too!
Excellent breakfast👍👍
Quite an elaborate breakfast setup Steve... Well done.. Only thing missing for me was some buttered toast :)
Have you ever watched Sam the cooking guy? I enjoy his channel as well.
Nice👍
Great video. Enjoyed the bike ride/ talk. Appreciate what you do. I'd write more but you made me hungry. 🐷🐷
Have fun, stay safe and stay healthy.
Agree with your political and health concerns or no concerns ! Relaxing 😎 episode!
Great video as always. At this time in the development of electric bikes I think it’s better to build the bike yourself from a kit. That way you’ll know how to service the bike. Also, most pedal assists bikes are getting upgrades every year but still lack real power. I have a Specialized Enduro twenty niner with the EGO kit which produces 2,400 watts of power and uses a throttle rather than pedal assist. Most pedal assist bikes only have 250 watts of power. I think you would be better served with a more powerful, more rugged and more capable electric bike given then environment we live and play in. For the desert surrounding Las Vegas you need more power, more suspension travel, and more range.
Fun video and always enjoy the cooking spots. I keep suggesting to my son an ebike(less weight on RV) I believe you are right, they will just keep improving with time. I’m happy those coyotes stayed on the other side of the hill and you had a pleasant ride. May need to add a small air horn and can of pepper spray just in case😂👍 Thanks for sharing the sights, I too especially enjoy the quiet spaces!
Very true!
I have an air horn works well for animals an humans alike.
I'd put a cover on the bike when traveling to keep the dirt off the chain and sockets.
Nice video.
Hey Ripp!
Steve I always questioned the tires on these E-bikes because they kind of reminded me of like the Go-Cart tires that would go flat a lot and the ply was thin so easy to slice on a sharp rock. As far as the wilderness out on my own one good open knife and of course one 9mm and I don't have to worry about too many coyotes and crazy-ass humans. And today your chance is better that it will be a crazy-ass human than a coyote.
Love your music choices as always!
I think I like watching your videos because they are very calming to watch. :) And informative as well.
We have lots of coyotes in our backyard! They are harmless, mostly, but gotta watch out if you are a chihuahua!
Good to know.
Since the government in British Columbia is offering a $2000 rebate on street legal electric motorcycles I'm discovering a lot of these products are of questionable quality and often their range claims are highly inflated. I'd assume the marketplace would find one manufacturer who could eventually be a product leader in this category.
Watch out for alien abductions out there!
At the end of your ride you didn’t even have Helmet Head. Well played!!!
Excellent VIdeo. We live in the desert south of you a few hundred miles in Arizona and enjoy getting away from civilization and exploring the back roads of the desert. Might want to consider a Spot type of device for an emergency since you are solo. Just in case.
Sounds great!
making me Hungry!!...lol!.. i work a a Hustle Bustle Casino....'Getting AWAY' is GOOD.....Quietness!! ENJOY!!
Morning, just a thought, did you ever think of strapping the bike like a motorcycle? By the forks or bars , it will take the bounce out and you won't have to strap over the paint. It will be rock solid. I'm not a "you should " lol just sharing a thought.
I considered many things. It's not going anywhere that I can tell. Paint is fine.
Beautiful
@10:48 who needs a shower cabana in such a beautiful place if you’re alone? 🤣🤣
Nice video and music. What pieces of music are you playing? I am creating a playlist for my next trip. Thanks!
It is just the RUclips royalty free music provided in the creators suite.
Not a sound? Someone was playing piano! Thanks for the video!
That was me...
Perfection in everything you do! Very nice, and you obviously like doing it alone. Can’t blame you, with the current pandemic and political concerns.
Suggest putting Slime in your e-bike tires. Works great for desert riding and punctures. Also, not sure about cellular where you were riding, but a satellite comm device (Garmin Inreach) might be a thought. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the tips!
IMHO the armadillo strips work a lot better. I had plenty of flats where slime did nothing. Now I run the in tire armadillo strips and I always buy tires with kevlar fiber in them and I have had no flats for years.
Add a tire pulg kit too. Then your 👍
Travel at your own risk...
No shooting within 47 miles...
Sounds like those signs should also on the streets of Los Angeles..
Ha.
dropping some tire pressure will make the bumps a little better. take care
As always mr exploration steve baby ..Excellent report .. luv the desert ..have ya thought aboot a lil prospecting..😁pip pips and carryon squadron leader
I have been thinking about a metal detector if that counts.
@@XplorerSteveDIY that does mr steve baby ..😁
@@XplorerSteveDIY minelab 40 threw to 60 ..very cheap but very good ..😁pip pips and carryon
Nice, 4Runner!! Did you keep your suspension at stock height?
Ok you have the juiced scramble. I have the juiced scorpion. Will your bike rack work with the heavier scorpion.?
Bear with me, reminds me of a series "Black Adder goes Forth" when General Melchett states " it's a barren featureless desert out there" and his 2IC says "I think the map be be upside down Sir" :-)...also, have you watched "The Long Way Up", on Apple with Ewen McGregor and Charlie Boorman battling their E-Harley Davidsons up from Ushuaia in Argentina through South and Central America to Los Angeles in the United States...well worth the mid life crisis they are going through. Great vid as usual Steve.
I saw an ad for that. Will have to check it out.
How have the Goodyear A/T’s held up over the years in the rocky terrain surrounding LV? ((Very cool water pump settup you came up with btw))
Alone having a good time 2020!
Very nice video I enjoyed it. How is your daughter doing, plus what ever happen to your wife.
All good
Is your vehicle four-wheel-drive ? Good times
No..
I agree Steve, the local bike shop has no incentive to work on a E bike they don't even sell. Good luck finding service/repair locally.
I can handle those things myself. Always have.
👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Hey Steve, have you ever taken your son camping with you like did/do with your Daughter...? Thanks in advance.
No. His interest is/was not in camping. He likes traveling to far away places.
bike mileage before recharge? great video
That doesn't look like the same helmet from 2 videos ago. What happened? I like these cooking/camping videos, reminds me of Primal Outdoors'.
The helmet went back. Upon trying it back on the streets, it lacked unobstructed vision. It was highly rated and fit me will but my anatomy didn't gel with it. I placed a comment on that original video saying so. This new one is much more open.
Great video as usual. Quick question - what are you doing for a spare? Do you have room for one underneath with the larger tires?
I have the same tire on the spare. This vehicle came with these sizes as an option.
Steve did you get that feeling your the Last Man on Earth while riding?
Well, the high tension power lines were a reminder...ha.
Take some air out of your tires for a smoother ride. 12psi
Best advice ever, and often overlooked.
Not a soul around...good food, good day!
What helmet did you end up getting to replace your previous one?
100% Status. Light. and well ventilated. Most important- good visibility.
I use SLIME Scabs .
Is the bike the same brand as your blue one? I just bought the blue one thru your link
It is'nt. I got rid of that one for lack of rear suspension and power. Bikes are evolving fast. So many more choices than a couple years ago and this Ariel Rider is the one LAESK8 is talking about. Among the best.
The bike rack is from Harbor Freight, right?
