For anyone having the same problem, it’s the same 4 screw system nitro cars use to set their gear mesh. And nitro cars suffer from the same problem when casing jumps and stuff. The best way to secure is to completely clean off the screws with brake cleaner, then use blue loctite with a tiny hint of red loctite. If you want to remove them, heat them up first with a heat gun or blow dryer or torch. Do not just crank on it cold because they might strip. And stay on top replacing of the screws once the hex looks slightly worn. Screws only cost a few bucks
I've found the best way to get heat directly into the screw after Loctite is to use a thick tip on a soldering iron, therefore with the ability to get so much heat straight into the screw, just put the red Loctite!
Awesome spot to run RCs! The motor mount issue really sucks because they made a nice cradle to support the motor vertically but created a new problem with it moving horizontally. M2C is supposed to be making a better version. Ultimately, this will end up being a solid truck but will also be about $1100 after upgrades. Machined gears, stronger hinge pins, motor mount and axles.
It's cool that Traxxas is trying to make a mount that holds the entire motor to stop flexing. But the spur and mount not being one unit is a terrible flaw. It shows Traxxas' inexperience with aluminum chassis. They assume this will work on electric because it works with their Nitro's.
