Great video Nate! Always a tough pill to swallow when you lose one. I always try to follow up within a day or so to see if I can answer any questions that they may have if they have not accepted.
A great way would be to stay on one line of communication, this helps everyone focus on one way to get ahold of each other. All the information is captured in one spot and each party can look at the information.
Sorry to hear. That client sounds like trouble anyway. You’re better off without him. This is what I do… Once I send off the quote via email/text, I will follow up with a text message stating my next available. That way, I can refer back to it quickly versus going through my emails. It also works out well for communicating my arrival, ongoing property information and departure times. All text messages are timestamped & admissible in court. Thank you for all the information. Keep your head up and keep crushing. Love watching the channel Nate 🤙🏻
I hate email. Using the CRM works for me. Communicating that way works if it’s tracking the activity. I try to close with phone calls. I don’t have to worry about email outside of my CRM getting put into a spam file. Sorry to hear you lost it. I know the frustration.
I operate in a similar manner. If they contact me over the web I don’t call just email. I do try to call to schedule the service date but I think you did everything right. I had a elderly lady that I met in person gave the estimate and scheduled the date in person only to lose the job to someone else bc she didn’t keep her notes. I show up and take a quick look and say this house looks cleaner than I remember knock on the door and when she answered the door you could see it on her face that she remembered she messed up and hired two contractors. It’s life!
I've always used the Text message for communication. Never relied on email because one missed or fat-fingered letter and it's in cyberspace forever. Some older customers don't like to text so it's strictly voice calling then. Just never a fan of emails.
It's an option. Maybe it's my age or generation though but I have the hardest time with texting... just no good way to keep track of all the texts. I get buried every day with texts from people I don't even know and so I prefer to avoid it if I can. Thanks for your input and for watching.
Yea I'll send the quote then text saying I've sent it at the same time it might be annoying for them getting spammed twice but better than losing the job.
I wouldn't worry about it too much, shit happens. It probably ended up in his spam folder, I've had that myself. You did your part, not your fault. If I were you though so you don't get bad mouthed around town, send him another email asking him to check his spam and also a copy of your original email 👍
This is your fault man. You’re willing to pick up the phone and call him right before the job, but you aren’t willing to call him to iron out the details on the contract? Come on…. And you sent him an email that was different than the email from your invoicing system, so it might have went to his spam folder. Sometimes you need to make sure customers get it.
all we can do is learn from our mistakes thanks for sharing it happens to all of us. washon
Well said. Wash On! ... the new motto in my head.

In my 15 years of window cleaning, these customers have always been a problem after you complete the job. My experience only Nate.
Yeah.

I always follow up after they tell me they want the work to confirm if I don’t hear back from them in text or email.
Makes sense. Thanks for watching
It probably went to spam. If it was the first time contacting by that email. It happens to me, follow up is the key.

Print out the email from your sent folder. Snail-mail it to him with a note that says sorry you didn't get my email. Jerk.
lol good idea!
