In 2002 my brother and I chartered the Jacque Apito out of Kona, and not far outside the harbor I hooked up on a blue marlin. The fight lasted maybe half hour and we landed it safely. It weighed in at 275 lbs, and I let the skipper keep it. We caught mahi mahi and a wahoo, as well. That trip was one of the greatest adventures of my life and I dream of going back. Thanks for sharing your video, I thoroughly enjoyed watching and hearing your commentary.

Wow thank you so much. Means the world to me that any of these videos can be helpful or give any perspective on things to people. My goal with these is to provide some positive influence to the sport and hopefully help some people catch some fish along the way. Comments like this make it worth doing. I appreciate it !

Keep it up Chris .. I’m 15yrs into my marlin fishing career, for want of a better term and I’ve had enough experiences to know what I’m doing, but I struggle to the time I would like to go out and as a result I have long periods of not much happening..so this message encourages me to just keep going and keep positive… one of the best things I ever heard was from a cousin of mine who has done lots of marlin fishing and caught plenty.. he just said time on the water and being prepared.. all you need.. the rest will come..

Backing up so much I think the angler loses some of the experience of fighting the fish.. Chasing down for tournament but for sportfishing. Feel that power.

You spent entirely too much time talking in this video lol. It was 20 minutes of talking, 10 minutes of watching a guy slowly reel in, and 5 mins of action. The vid should have been 15 mins tops.
