Costa seems to the best at failing forward.
He barely ever wins and still keeps on getting great opportunities. Now even while being 0-4 against current UFC roster, he will probably get Khamzat or Jared next.
Probably because he hasn't lost in a terrible way & there's still potential for him to change his fighting style

Usually when there's a bad stoppage like that between two high profile fighters the ufc likes to make immediate rematches, it's much better for everyone. Costa also should fight someone like Joe Pyfer or Abdul Razak next, not a high ranked guy.

I think why Paulo was so successful before was because he would just pressure his opponents and overwhelm them with strikes for a TKO victory. Now he prefers to stand toe to toe and trade with his opponents. This puts him at a disadvantage because despite being very large for middleweight he has a very short reach, so his opponent can hit him where Paulo cannot hit back. Also, trading works well if you can avoid your opponents attacks, but Paulo gets hit a lot, and when he does hit, he’s not a one punch KO guy, so even through his technique is great (those left head kicks when he fought Whittaker), he doesn’t have the power to KO someone with one punch. He should go back to his pressuring style, just forward movement, aggressive offense, corner them against the cage and just unload with vicious combos.

Izzy, strickland and whittaker are all such brutal opponents to vs. theyre all pretty weird and so technical. must be super hard to train for them

Adesanya was a unique matchup that conflicted with Paulos style. Since then he has seemingly changed it to a more refined and point fighting approach. Whittaker and Sean were great opponents, but I think the heavy pressure and high volume style will work against most middleweights, and it is what is most natural for him.

I’m a big fan of Paulo. In my opinion he changed after the Izzy trash talk and knockout. It’s good to see him acknowledge this change, but I wish he would admit what caused the change. His best gift is his aggressiveness though. He has to make them respect him.
Paulo v Strickland was completely different against whittaker that fight was close Strickland fight was boring but I get it Strickland makes it hard but Costa was on the back foot the whole fight if he went forward it coulda been a classic
People love this man, his win's and losses don't even matter at this point 🏆

This dude says this after every loss then he fights exactly the same where he jabs, jabs, backs up and lets his opponent t off on him. He has not been the same since he got his ass kicked by Izzy. Old Paulo was aggressive and moved forward with big strong punches. Now he gasses after the first round and just backs up the whole time

No one rush for finish even if they gets hurt like before , No one Over extent now or throw random punches . Fighters are defensively sound n they usually dnt get into dog fight now .
