Hands down...one of the best fragrance reviews! Love your personality and style of review. You can tell that you love what you do and it shows. Great job.
Your reactions are PRICELESS!! Love the authenticity and thanks for sharing your experiences with these fragrances and your candle making journey videos. I will def buy 16/17 fragrances now because of you!
I've tried 5 of the 16/17 fragrances. I had the same reaction to Calle 23- not too impressed out of bottle, but when I made it in a candle I was blown away! Love it. Agree totally that Lombard St. and Kathmandu don't throw well, but both are good scents. These two also work in cold process soap, and don't discolor. Calle 23 is awful in soap. Alistaire - I appreciate as a quality scent, but I don't like cologne and it's definitely a men's cologne scent. Mayfield is a beautiful scent. The thing about these scents is that they are, as you said, unique, and have a weird way of sneaking up on you until you fall for them. Funny how that happens! It never happened with another fragrance company.
Yes, you are so right about this!! Only company I've found with this pattern too. I love Mayfield--wish it were a tad stronger though in soy. Love and light always!! Please let me know if you have any additional video ideas :)
@@earthglow I'm a new subscriber and so I haven't watched all your earlier videos (I will, tho - love your vids). I apologize if you've already covered these topics, but my first thoughts on new video ideas: 1. How did you develop your wax blend? I'm wondering about the process you went through and what you've tried. Other waxes you tried and liked/didn't like? 2. How do you sell your candles? Website, shows? 3. How did you begin your candle journey? (could combine with topic above) Thanks for asking!
@@cherylmeehan6915 Thank you so much for your wonderful ideas. I have added these to my list of future video topics. So honored and privileged to have you in our RUclips candlemaking family. Love and light always.
You are so right about it being hard to find a true palo santo scent....I finally gave up and just used essential oils to create my own Palo Santo scent but it would be easier if I could find a ready made scent so I'm going to try Kathmandu. Thanks for the review!
I’m delighted this was helpful! Yes, Palo Santo is so challenging. I also like Palo Santo Patchouli from the Flaming Candle but to me that one is more of a Mahogany and Teakwood… I wonder how to would be to mix that one with this though!
I just purchased Le Jardin. Florencia smells so beautiful. I will be making wax melts with it soon. Mojave is not my favorite, but I will custom blend with another oil. Hopefully, I will create something unique.
I love your business name ❤ oh my….just by your reactions to the scents I went and bought one hundred thirty three worth of fragrances 😮 went for the 4oz bottles since this is my first time buying FO
The scents from 1617 are amazing! I have to be honest as much as I wanted to like these for my candle line, I don't think I will add them to my luxury line. I made candles with Kathmandu and Persephone with my usual process and the HT that I expect from my other FO company is not the same sadly :( I will try to bump up the % but given I may use more oil so this may not work for me, especially with the price tag it comes with. I bought designer oils from another place and it is so strong I am only able to put in a little to produce a good HT. I expected the same from 1617 , but was disappointed. I used Kathmandu & Persephone oils w/ both candles. I may use the oils for other things because the oils do smell so good just not for my candles. I use all soy wax and cured all candles for 2 weeks.
Thanks for sharing! Would you mind sharing the name of the other company? I’d be curious what their oils are like too. Kathmandu I use only as a blender but Persephone gives me excellent hot throw. Thanks!
Hi!! Many of these scents are lotion safe but with any fragrance you must check the IFRA statement to see which percentage of the oil is safe to use for your application. 💛✨🌱
Hi April! Oh how neat!! Most of the companies I use package their oils in PET plastic. 16/17 and Brambleberry are two exceptions though and they do use glass bottles. Love and light always 💛🌱
did you figure it out? 16/17 closed down, sadly. but there are companies that will be carrying them. i think they are the exact or maybe they are just the dupes. not sure sure.
Do any of you have a favorite Sixteen Seventeen fragrance oil?
Calle 23 is my favorite followed by Kathmandu
Persephone but I love all of them. Yup I bought all of their fragrances. So unique as you said they put you in another place and time.
I love that you aren’t sponsored! Thank you for taking one for the team! You are adorable. I love your videos! ❤️

This is such a great review..loved it! Any chance you have a review on Simbi?
This is a great video. Thanks for the info. Do you blend these fragrances or use them as is?
Thank you!!! Both! Depends on the oils but most of these are excellent stand-alone oils in my opinion.
i love you review video 😍
Hi Nady! Aww, thank you so much for your kind comment. Love and light always 💛🌱
Thanks so much
What would be your top three picks for HT?
I would say that Persephone, Alastair, and Eternelle produce the strongest HT in my beeswax, soy, coco crème wax blend 💗👍
Mojave and Florencia are very close behind though!!
Thanks Allen!! Out of those which is/are your favorite/s?🙂💕
@@kimbeg7082 I would have to choose Eternelle and Florencia. It’s a very tough choice!!!

Yes, bro! Glad you enjoyed.
OMG - Sixteen Seventeen cart at $87 right now-
Yes it’s so easy to do!! Love and light 💛🌱
Persephone is the queen of the underground but gets to come back six months a year in spring...
I came here for the reviews on 16/17 because you said you’re a Taurus, and as a Taurus, I can only trust the nose of a Taurus.
🤣🤣🤣
Today is a sad day, 1617 has closed for good.
RIP 😢
Im in Australia - are they in glass bottles? I have loved watching your reviews, I have my list lol

Just found this video, and it looks like 16/17's site is down. :(

I use fragrance oils in my bath products, after discovering 16/17 I dropped the other companies like a bad habit.
Ha ha ha! They do have some great oils.
