This is by FAR the best/most accurate and concise video I have ever seen to stop swinging over the top!!! No fluff, no wasted time. She gets right to the point with specific details and drills you can put into practice immediately. This worked for me right off the bat…especially thinking of putting my hands in my back pocket…Brilliant!!!
This is quite literally the best explanation I have seen in 40 years of playing golf. I never had a problem hitting the ball straight so I never understood the term coming over the top. This will help my son tremendously. I could never find the right way to get him to understand how to keep that inside out track. This will be a light bulb moment for him. Thanks! Forwarding it to him now.
Okay went to the Driving range Thursday evening after work! Hit the draw albeit small with my 3 hybrid and 5 wood. Could not seem to make it happen with the driver and 3 wood! What fun it was to see it with a slight left off the Tee! The 4 fairways at my regular course I play need a draw… wait till the groups sees I have a draw now 😂
Thank you! I tried using these swing thoughts at my local golf course yesterday and played my best round ever! The "pocket"idea literally transformed the way I was able to hit the ball.
I'm 71 and I accidentally learned this to be true. I now force myself on all clubs to keep my back to the target (or as you say - keep my chest facing around 45 degrees behind me) and then just swing. Works marvelously, but I have to be certain to get a good back turn to put the butt of the club shaft pointing along the correct in-to-out swing path. Great tip.
Such a great analogy! I think the combination of swinging in to out but with a slightly closed face is what makes this particularly tricky. I'd love to see a video about how to close the club face more.
What made it easy for me to understand how to hit CONTROLLED draws and fades and why I hit UNCONTROLLED hooks and slices were the illustrations in Golf My Way by Nicklaus of how the backspinning dimpled ball generates lift like an airplane wing and flies like one in a banked turn when the spin axis gets tilted by a swipe across the back of the ball > o or o < not a dead center strike. Finally understanding what made it happen it was pretty easy to figure out how to make it happen at will, most of the time, when playing frequently, which is pretty much true of ever aspect of golf. 😂
Great video ‘ I really like the closed hips drill ‘ I think my hips were way to active and trying to stop them Is something I never even realised would help ‘ much appreciate the video ‘ subscribed and will be a regular’ thank you
Thank You for the explanation and visuals for what causes my slice. I will be working on that in the range more often and clearly now that I understand the cause.
This was a GREAT video - thank you! Much work to do but I tried keeping my right hip "back a bit" on my through swing and had the best ball-striking session in a long time last night on the range. Thanks again!
So true! I noticed when I have a long fareway straight ahead on a par 4 or 5 I unconsciously want to hit it harder and slice it terribly! If I focus on slow and good swing I hit straighter and often further because of more spin and rol in the right direction.
Excellent video. I started hitting a draw with my driver when I had the Eureka moment of a footballer (right footed) trying to curl the ball into the top corner. After I got that sorted I do the following (using a clock face) . The target is at 12 o'clock, I aim by swing to hit the ball to 2 o'clock and have the club behind the ball pointing at 1oclock ( ie closed). I find this gives me a baby draw or a straight shot if the dreaded fade tries to reappear
I think you're 100% with the swing thought about hitting it hard. If you go up playing bat and ball sports you only get one instrument to hit the ball with but I golf you get many. It's very hard to develop the mindset that the club will do the work for you especially for me as a beginning golfer there is no trust.
Best line, "Think about David Beckham....not that thought..." LOL It is so darn hard to understand in the few split seconds of a downswing just how things can go very wrong.

Thanks for the pocket drill tip. Tested it to day on the golfcourse. My drive improved drastic.

On thd tee later, I'm going to work on this amazingly simple thought process

Best ever tip was 2 tees placed behind the ball and in front and the object was don’t hit them , changed my game beyond belief , pure game changer
Love this tip, not a bad idea for a video either... 😉
You got a pic of what you mean
@@HowDidiDoTV look forward to it 😊

Have watched many Utube videos attempting to get help in improving my game but this is absolutely the best one yet. Absolutely the greatest.
I like how you used kicking a ball that actually made a lot click for me. Looking forward.to trying it out

Excellent video, those are now my thoughts for the weekend 🤞

Great concise & clear explanation . Thank you
Thanks for the great feedback! It's much appreciated 👍
Excellent instruction. Best description of hitting a draw I have ever been taught! I am going to practice this at the range.
Hi Sophie, you nailed it when you say "if you try to swing hard"! Thats my problem! BR//Lasse
I don't think you'd be the only one that struggles with this swing fault!
I try and hit the ball with furious vengeance. I get a massive fade or slice
That was very good Looks like you saw me playing golf yesterday I will work on this today. I like the visual about the pocket
Thanks Andy, please subscribe if you haven't done already to see more weekly tips! 🧡
Thank You for the explanation and visuals for what causes my slice. I will be working on that in the range more often and clearly now that I understand the cause.
Fantastic. I love tips like these. It's conceptual tips like these that can really instigate change in what you do. Thank you.
Aloha ans thank you foe the clear and simple instructions.
Great tip. Subscribed. Love the one thought to remember. I’ve list count of the number of “here’s three things to remember” videos. 😆
A born teacher. 🙏 Sophie will try it tomorrow
Great stuff, let us know how you get on and good luck!

Thank you so much Sophie, I’m struggling with this right now. I will give it a try when I go to the range and the course.👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Great timing then Paul, thanks for the feedback

very helpful info - this too is my biggest struggle - out to in + slice . I'll put your lesson to use . thank you :o)

Your vids are great 👍
Thank you
Well done ! Natural teacher
Thanks for getting in touch with your feedback Ned 😀
Love it! Thanks.
Our pleasure!
Thank you so well explained
All i have to do is do it ! Haha
Great lesson
thanks. will give it a try
Good luck hope the video helps!
great video
Same for every club ?
I find that if I follow through my driver towards the target it doesn't fade/slice. Like stroking a putter to the hole on shorter putts.
I’ve taken swinging over the top to new hieghts😮!!! I’m not proud of it either!!!!
Rear hand into rear pocket and turn through with the hip.
I've seen dozens of other RUclips instructors talking about moving the left hip up and back to make a good downswing. Are they all wrong ?
Wonderful song but only if performed by lady gaga❤😊
Best line, "Think about David Beckham....not that thought..." LOL It is so darn hard to understand in the few split seconds of a downswing just how things can go very wrong.
Not a bad thought, is what she said😂
