Thank you so much, what a nice comment! i met some of the loveliest people in Belgrade but unfortunately I didn’t get to explore the rest of the country because of time restrictions. However, I can tell it is such a beautiful country and I know for a fact I will be back one day to explore more 🫶
Belgrade is a literally magical city..... But.... Ther is always but..... It is not the same for the all abroad foreigners and us the serbs..... Still it is magical and open arms.... Welcome and enjoy
Of course, there is a big difference for locals and visitors and it would be silly of me to ignore that fact. I feel similarly about my home country as well, magical but very very different experience for visitors and locals. I had a great experience while visiting and for that i am very grateful ☺️
Nevermind his comment ,he probably lives with his parents waiting for something to fall from sky for him ,thats the type of people who always complain...Would be same for him if he lives in Luxembourg ..
Fun fact: the bus station you departed from literally doesn't exist anymore. A new location started running a few days ago and the old one, the one you departed from, is already being demolished.
@@AmaliaTh Yes new bus station is since 10 days ago in New Belgrade area, block 42 to be precise. It was demolished to make space for Belgrade Waterfront project, that area where you ended your video. Also now you can buy bus tickets online, they finally updated their site, but you still need to print the ticket at the bus station (stupid system i know).
Discover Serbia myself now and I guess three days just give you a short glimpse on the city. Thanks for the insight though, my best memory of Belgrade is the Tito train at the main station.
They would have let you in the st sava church in shorts. Its sort of a tourist attraction and they dont have a dress code. Or if they do its once you are half naked, folk singer style, not for wearing a shorts.
Yes, i realised there were people in there wearing shorts but there were signs asking you to wear long trousers / dress modestly and i always want to be respectful when it comes to these things ☺️
You can't see much for a day in Belgrade. When you see the boring Sarajevo, you will regret you did not spend more days in Belgrade! And eating pastry is not such a big deal, you have pastry all around the world. You missed so much, next time you need to be more prepared and to do more research. Kind regards from Serbia, do come back !
surely you realise not everything i did is going to be included in a 15 minute video 😅 also i was in Belgrade for more than just a day (and i loved sarajevo, no regrets about how i divided my time, only if i had more days i would’ve gone to other parts of serbia as well but i had time restrictions so it will wait until next time). However i am open to recommendations for next time if there is something you feel is important to see.
@@AmaliaThFor Belgrade definitely visit Zemun you will love it, also since you love nature Avala Tower and Monument to the Unknown hero at Avala mountain, it is beautiful area to walk around and view from top of the tower. As for nearby trips, Novi Sad is only 30 min train ride (buy ticket for Soko intercity, regional trains go around 1h).
It was a flat price from a supermarket and i needed something to fit my dietary restrictions. I can assure you i didn’t pay anything different to what anyone else would have paid for this and yes i probably could’ve found something cheaper but i didn’t care in that moment - what you dont see in this video is that when i bought this (the night before, when i also was looking for dinner after i landed) i had a severe migraine and wanted substantial enough food to help me recover but i was not in a state to eat at a restaurant, i just needed food/ wanted to secure a couple of meals and got some things from the ready meal section in a supermarket. So yes, i probably could’ve gotten this much cheaper and fresh lol from a bakery but for the convenience and my physical needs in that point of time i was more than happy to pay that price (also there was more than just that 1 in the pack and it was very filling, maybe there is cheaper but that wasn’t my concern in that moment)
BS, you would pay 5 to 6 or up to 8 euro for the same thing in Norway or Sweden, Germany ,etc. Serbian prices are low in comparison to ''West'' Europe.
I don't think so. Big majority of Serbian cities are ugly, except Vojvodina towns. Communist architecture, unplanned and unfinished houses, bad infrastructure, garbage... Nature is dissent. We have a lot of historic cities from different periods, prehistory, Roman empire, medieval, Ottoman empire... Nature is dissent. Economy is bad, big majority of people working for 600 euros. Institutions are corrupt and chaotic. Because of that emigration in the West is very high. Serbian is very safe country, their is no dangers area. About mentality, it's third world country. You can buy anything in Serbia from college degree to land and people.
Welcome to Serbia !
I hope you will have a great time, meet some cool young people, and explore it a bit more then just Belgrade.
All the best.
