Today we had band and we did battle of the sections. Clarinets vs oboes and flutes vs saxophones. I'm a clarinetist and we won by a half point. I did a solo for Mary had a little lamb because we had just started band about 6 weeks ago and I got 10/10 points for the clarinets. Saxophones came in second then floboes my band teacher calls them because the flutes and oboes are one team. Band is the bomb.
Spacedreams AJ 10/10 points for mary had a little lamb lol. If my band did this the Clarinets would loose by a landslide because we only have like 2 actually good players. While the flutes have a player that pratices about an hour a day and is probably the best in the band ._.
Back when I played the clarinet, it took me a little while to put it together, so I'm just putting my instrument together when my band teacher tells everyone to play. I just sit there like: I'm right here... you can SEE I'm not ready to play.
My Morning band classes are on Mon.And Wed. and i play clarinet oh um...and i have 3 different insterment's in my class saxaphone clarinet and flue and actually including 1 obe and we did a thing called SQEEK SQUAK TOOT same method very fun
I first watched this 3 years ago, and I'm cringing remembering how bad i was. customary things like "make sure your clarinet is up" and "make sure to put mouthpiece into small end of barrel" were tasks in themselves back then. Now I'm having fun playing eight notes in cut time.
Does the mouthpiece have to match the brand of the clarinet? I just got a lightly used Bundy clarinet for Christmas yesterday. Even though it's used, It is like new.I want to buy a second mouthpiece for my cousin, who also wants to play it. Also, do you prefer a plastic or metal ligature?
Why am I watching this I've been playing clarinet for 5 years. Edit: ew don't use rico reeds use vandoren. Much better quality. Edit again: chipped reeds can still work. I got first chair with a chipped reed and some of them can be perfectly in tune. I'm not saying you should use chipped reeds. Just avoid them if you can.
I really need reeds but idk where to get them and my parents don't understand that I NEED more reeds to play bc I only have one and I am starting to play on Tuesday mabey so I need more just in case it breaks and I'm ganna get in trouble if I don't have 1 ugggg this is terrible anyone know where I can getting that real and low price
When I started, I was taught to first use a reed strength of 1 1/2. Beginners should never use a reed strength of 2 or 2 1/2. It's gonna be too hard to get a sound AT FIRST.
this is so helpful I am going to play it in sixth grade band because we have to do quior band or both and I'm doing both and got claranet which I wanted trhanj yo for posting this
I didn't know someone could make a video this long just to put together a barrel and a moth piece then putting a Reed on XD it literal takes me like 30 seconds to do that
I remember my clarinet playing days and whenever I make a high pitch noise, I always blamed it on the reed. My reeds look exactly like the ones in 2:10.
Samay Sj It's ok. You don't really need a reed case. Just make sure you have a safe place to put your reed without it breaking. But if you put it in your case make sure to wipe your reed so it doesn't collect mold.
That is not a reed case. The clear case is for the Manufacturer to put the reeds in to avoid damage for shipment. Its only great for protecting reeds that are no used. Those cases to not prevent warping after usage!
you should never keep your reeds in the case they come in. always by a nice case that can hold your reeds. this is important because the case they come in is not sturdy and cant protect it
I'm in 6th grade band class!!
SO EASY!!! I mastered it in less than 5minutes when I first started.
this is amazing my band teacher went over this last time I saw him and I see him every other day

That is not a reed case. The clear case is for the Manufacturer to put the reeds in to avoid damage for shipment. Its only great for protecting reeds that are no used. Those cases to not prevent warping after usage!
