@Rose :3 Yeah, it can be really squeaky sometimes. That’s why it’s so important to have good sounding clarinets in a band. A small squeak can ruin the whole thing,
That's 100% okay! We all start out as beginners and make our way up! I'm sure if you keep consistent and practice, you'll be like "the professional" in no time!
I could only play about 6 notes with a good tone within the first 2 months of learning and now i’ve been playing for 7 years (im a 10th grader now) and i can play pretty good now. All it takes is practice which i don’t do much of but you’ll get there just practice practice practice and i promise you won’t regret it.
I am personally the “too short for percussion and was forced to play clarinet then after growthspurt was told she was super good at drums but wont switch because emotionally attached to instrument.”

@@porcoddi0 I just started out on alto and its not hard because a lot of it is similar to clarinet. Sometimes its difficult for me to switch over to violin after playing clarinet for a while but that might just be because I don't have a chance to practice violin as much anymore. Its not hard though
Oh man, I feel you. This summer I tried to play guitar, but I had the feeling and my fingers were too soft. I play clarinet too and switching to an instrument to another one is not easy as it seems, but I'll try again, somehow

I learned the duet today in class today lol I'm in 6th grade---- the Christmas performance comes up soon...I'm not prepared at all and my class is slow---- like they cant do the chromatic scale yet lol and I'm on the pieces now--- maybe I joined the wrong section but there's no going back now---

I'm like...A failed freshman "prodigy" because I ended up playing multiple instruments but not well enough (I mean, well enough to jam with friends, or end up playing for a small Church or a small bar who doesn't have the budget for actually good musicians, but not better than that lol). I mean, I mostly play woodwinds, so it's a bit easier to transition to a new instrument every time !
My teacher would have stabbed you in the gut with your clarinet for doing that, she get really worried when someone uses their instrument. One time the tuba player rode on his case with the tuba and she threatened him with the bills of what the tuba cost. Edit: I am now in color guard, we have had two coaches one made us write the routines when she was supposed to write them. And the other writes the routines last minute and gave us a day to learn how to use boas and rings. She’s made all 3 of us cry and my teacher won’t get rid of her because she was the sub.
I'm the first chair lol everyone just keeps telling the band teacher they they deserve the first chair and me being annoyed. I'm not trying to bag tho.
One of my friends and second chair used to always be like “yo director you should give me the first part chase is bad”. We’ve had two years of just nagging on each other for fun
I have a friend who's the "cheap instrument but is a god" one. She has this nasty, barely functional plastic clarinet, SHE USES RICO REEDS, and she's got the best tone of literally anyone I've ever heard

Depends a jupiter 20k clarinet wouldn't be but a yamaha is very good at I would buy one if your planing to stick to it
