I'm gonna go with Kayvan and your daughter. The gray is actually beautiful. Sage green or an olive green would absolutely pop. Whichever you choose, it's going to be beautiful.
I totally agree with your daughter! Sage green would be beautiful! ❤❤ Or simply go with some kind of cream colour...... Looking forward to see how it turns out!!! Also looking forward to see more of the horses!!! ❤❤
I was thinking, "what is the complementary color of light gray? That may be a good choice." It turns out that the complementary color of light gray is dark gray.
Please do not paint the window /door sills. Coat them with water shedding solution, this will preserve the patina and surfaces, by all means. The woodwork, window frames and rendered walls should be your choice, you have to live in them (although cream woodwork/ window frames and sage green render will make it fit into the landscape in a restrained and understated way). I am not a computer whiz but taking images of the elevations and manipulating colours will give you an good guide. Keep up the good work.
I would recommend not painting the windowsills white as they will get dingy over time, being a more horizontal surface. The sage green sounds lovely, and white or some variation of it in other areas would be a nice contrast.💚💚💚
Sage green is a calming, cozy, welcoming color. In two different house that we have lived in, the room that was painted sage, sea foam green, got the most compliments.
Taking your cue from the large coloured stones of the home's exterior (where the grey pipe is mounted) will be the most complimentary. The soft, sage green and/or the copperish tones would enhance the stone work and is sympathetic with the landscape. I'm very much enjoying your show! Carole Saskatchewan, Canada
You guys made me chuckle again.."poke all switches at random.." and the drum falling off...yeah reminds me very much of our endavours ;) Glad you didn´t pulled the whole chimney down ;)
I love earthy greens and creamy whites for your beautiful stone cottage. When we visited Ireland this summer we saw a gorgeous red vine growing on many of the Trinity College buildings. Great contrast, reds, greens and greys with balancing creams. Y'all are living the dream up there!
Green has always been a favourite and hence why I am a landscape photographer. My lounge is willow green and everything in it blends well, plus it is a warm colour.
I'm off sage green. Looking above the right side of Cory's head, towards the double pipe, I see some beautiful burnt sienna tones in the stone. It could go toward brown to give you earthy and natural, or toward terracotta orange for a more vibrant look.
Interesting, thanks! We painted our whole enclosing garden wall in our previous home matt black - really enjoyed it. Bit of a contemporary feeling palate for the main cottage choice though?
Oh how I can sympathize with you over days of dealing with the noise! For over a year during the Covid pandemic we had a neighbor directly across the street that created chainsaw sculptures 😵💫 some days he'd be out there carving wood from sunup until 10 pm with a head lamp on. It was horrendous! There's just no escaping that kind of monotonous noise, then even after the noise stops it's so imprinted on your brain it's like you can still hear it. Now that it's over and done for you it looks like it was well worth it, it all looks amazing! Good luck planting your garlic and choosing colors ❤
Omgosh I laughed so hard with the kinked hose. The look on your face when you sprayed the camera.... I laughed out loud! I have a hose like that. It has a mind of its own! I am so glad you guys are sharing your life with us. I get so much joy out of your videos!
Concur that gray is good with sage green as an accent color. That being said, whatever you all decide is okay. Love the ponies and so enjoying following your adventure in renovating your cottage! 😊
I like white/cream and sage for the trim. There’s grey in the stone so everyone could get their color. The cream and sage will soften it. All grey will feel dreary and cold.
If you'll note, the stones are not just gray. There are also shades of brown, which blends into the countryside without being so somber as plain gray. I would find a nice shade of "brown." There are so many to choose from, many of which are right there in the stones, the earth, and the trees. You may find two shades: one for the wall and one for the trim. I also like the idea of the "sage" green or possibly "olive" just for a little contrast.
It would be nice if you showed a bit more of your renovation. I do enjoy the banter between you guys. Sage green would probably blend in with your surroundings. Thanks for sharing. Take care and stay safe.😊
I see a dark slate blue/grey. Its opposite on the color wheel for the burnt orangeish stone and similar to the grey stones. The white around the windows would pop.
The current turquoise paint, change it to sage green or forest green? The gray exterior wall, painting it gray may help in the future, that you will not have to repaint all the time, when paint popps off! Best of LUCK!
A green similar to F&B’s Card Room Green for the large areas and a gorgeous iron black for the accents like your window sills, facia boards under your gutters, and rooflines would look so handsome and clean as well as coordinate with the surrounding landscape.
I was going to say a light Sage Green would really compliment the stone before your comments made that your daughter said Sage Green! Great vlogs by the way, I really enjoy you laughter and positivity 😊
I live in Italy and many Italians (not all haha) are masters of color for their houses. My favorite color combination with the ancient grey stone houses that have one or more externally cemented walls, is the lightest of pinks (yes, pink, please don't cry) baby pink, very very light pink, with white trim and a front door in a dark color of your choice. Dark wine red perhaps? The light pink/grey stone/white trim combination with the green hills surrounding and multi-colored garden flowers would look great in my opinion. When I see a house like that here, it always impresses in a subtle, sweet and tasteful way. Whatever you decide, only choose a color that makes you happy. 😉👍
I actually like the gray, but perhaps with a cream or beige undertone, then a slightly dark sage green for the trim. (I did a search for Irish house colors, and Holy Cow! I'm still seeing spots in my eyes!)
Magnolia and white trim is always attractive, watch those chickens with the cold snap coming, foxes can be very determined. Well done on all the work. Adrian.
You make me smile and chuckle. Well, if you needed sand for your garden, you sure got some now. Chuckle. Color: While I was thinking of what color to paint our home years back, I recognized something very important. While driving around, what was it about some homes that I would say wow about. They had not just two colors but three. You obviously have gray, and you said probably white, and implied you could color it? I would suggest maybe not so stark a white, or pure white, but maybe a softer white would be my choice. I do love the sage green as a third color. It is always a pleasing color. It also is a calming, healing and natural color. It will go with anything you put inside due to it being like nature. It would not be a harsh contrast color like pink or turquoise is. You could take a black and white picture of your home and then color it to see what you like. Or use the color samples cut out to fit the gable end. There are sage green colors that have a grayish undertone to them as well, meaning they would look great next to all those gray colors. You could also pick a darker shade of sage to use as the front door to define it. Sage is a timeless color and will contrast with Any flower colors you plant next to it. Personally, I wouldn't pick a blueish or yellowish undertone sage. Watch out for those undertones, they show up big time when you paint big surfaces, but not in the little chip sample as easily. Well, that's my vote. I'm so excited for you and can't wait to see what you do. Thanks for making my day brighter.
i think any of the farrow and ball sage or country greens would look stunning, you could go lighter and it is in line with natures colours. those shades would look stunning against each changing season definitely match or pain the windows there's loads of chic cottage inspo
I like the idea of a sage green going with mother Earth, but also a darker color like a top or a light brown will make the gray or the light gray of the rocks pop out
Hola from Spain. Well I'm with Kayvan, i think Grey, and sage window sills etc. Our house in Spain is a very pale grey with a accents of green, and as we are in the mountsins it just blends rather than standing out. Also it stands up to wear & tear better than white which we have found over the years. Have a good week & hope it rains heavily for you ❤
There's so many shades of every color! And the meanings of colors are very interesting as well. Sage green is very pretty. It has gray undertones. A laurel green would have a little more pop but still be muted. You are getting to the fun part! Also, in defense of pink... most any color ( in my opinion) is better if it's subtle. And a quiet shade of pink can add a bit of whimsy and a happy feeling in small amounts. Anyway,no matter what the rest of us say...please go with what you like. I think you have good taste.
I would go for a sage green or mossy green with soft yellow accent. Or alternatively for the trim...pick the colour of your favorite wild flower in the field and go for it. It would definitely be a part of your property.
Team Kayvan. light grey, looks more indigenous to the surroundings, and the original stone. Making the cottage look much more traditional. Putting pops of colour should be kept for the doors, and guttering wood, not the actual masonry . It can always be rethought at a later date. Your daughter’s idea, for the sage/ mizzle green, would look good for the window frames. I believe you can get them sprayed. x
Cheers guys, it's looking well. I think a cream / ivory is nicer than white for the window sills. I did mine that colour and it looks amazingly clean, especially in drab weather compared to my neighbours white window sills which looks dirty in comparison. I think your beautiful is correct with the sage green or a mustard / sunburst colour!??? Can't wait to see the interior once you start, it will be ever sooooo exciting, and I can't wait. Love and hugs from the west of Ireland xx
Yes the green and cream would pop that’s would be great. Poor thing I hope it rains. That little vacuum will burn out. Glad the pink is gone but it did leave a big mess. Blessings and hugs ❤️🙏🏻❤️
I agree the white, your sweater was looking nice with stone behind you. Maybe a darker gray on the bottom would show less dirt. With accent color of blue gray or a butter creamy yellow.
Colors- I always love a bit of a story behind color choices. Maybe trim or combo that picks up your business brand colors? Daughter’s birthstone color? She’ll be off to uni before you know it and it’s lovely to have reminders!
Black or dark charcoal grey with wood stain or brown trim. Let nature and plants be the green and brighter and lighter inside with walls inside. Look up stone cottage with black and you will see lots of ideas
I am partial to a sage or forest green for all the big bits and white for accent. But I think white everywhere with green accents would work nicely too. But your daughter is right a nice green color that matches the grass or trees is the way to go.
I love your daughter’s idea of the sage green. I do think hints of a cream colored accent would be beautiful. I think the white is just too stark. The grey is nice but I agree that it is very drab. Love the videos and following along with your adventure.
My wife and I agree that sage green on the ends and chimney would be great. She says leave the window sills a grey colour and i think a slight off white would be best.
Well, I must be rare because I absolutely love the turquoise. It's part of the charm. However, if you must paint the color, sage would definitely go beautifully with natures setting. Looking so good you two.
No, no, no more grey...too drab. You want your beautiful cottage to be seen, not disappear. Just subtle not garish. Kayvan, your talent is in the building, but please leave the decor to the ladies of the family 😉. I vote for beige or cream with sage green. Shall I text some inspo pics?!😊
I was thinking green before you even said it. Sage green would compliment the trees and pasture. I'm in the USA/CT. I really enjoy the show because you are genuinely a breath of fresh air. We need especially now in the US. I can't wait to see the end results. You guys are so brave to take this on in a new country. What an enormous project! Good luck. Blessings. kk
Barbara here in San Antonio Texas! Now things are getting exciting for you…. What an amazing transformation after the sanding. I immediately went to Pinterest and typed in ‘Paint colors for exterior stone cottages’ and bingo…. Some beautiful ideas. Of course green is very popular right now, and perfect to blend in with your surroundings. Pale, pale green for the stone, and a darker (but still quite light for the trim and windows). As you’ll probably be repainting every 7 years or so, you really can’t make a mistake.
Love the look of the natural stone. Gun metal grey.. forest green... Team Kayvan.. :)
I think a cream or off white and pale sage would look great!
I'm gonna go with Kayvan and your daughter. The gray is actually beautiful. Sage green or an olive green would absolutely pop. Whichever you choose, it's going to be beautiful.
You could do sage green walls with white or soft lemon trim. Oh, and leave the stone walls the natural stone. Just doing accent walls of color.
Really enjoy watching your progress. Have a blessed week.
Cream and sage are my vote!
I think a sage green with a soft cream paintwork and windowsills
I totally agree with your daughter! Sage green would be beautiful! ❤❤ Or simply go with some kind of cream colour...... Looking forward to see how it turns out!!! Also looking forward to see more of the horses!!! ❤❤
I say stay away from the snazzy and go with a blending with nature tone. I am so glad I found your channel, you guys are so adorable.
Yes simple is best and it won’t date.👍🏼
I think the grey blends so well with the stone. Looks very natural.
It will start to look nasty after a couple or years though.
I was thinking, "what is the complementary color of light gray? That may be a good choice."
It turns out that the complementary color of light gray is dark gray.
Please do not paint the window /door sills. Coat them with water shedding solution, this will preserve the patina and surfaces, by all means. The great thing with technology you can take a pic of cottage and try out paint colours then make your choice
I would recommend not painting the windowsills white as they will get dingy over time, being a more horizontal surface. The sage green sounds lovely, and white or some variation of it in other areas would be a nice contrast.💚💚💚

Carole
Saskatchewan, Canada
complementary with an ' E ' not complimentary with an ' i ' two different words
I'd go white, with antricite grey windowsills
Nice!
You guys made me chuckle again.."poke all switches at random.." and the drum falling off...yeah reminds me very much of our endavours ;) Glad you didn´t pulled the whole chimney down ;)
sage and cream sounds great

A matte black would compliment the natural grey stone. A grey pulled from one of the grey stones could look good on the sills and trim.
Or complement.
Interesting, thanks! We painted our whole enclosing garden wall in our previous home matt black - really enjoyed it. Bit of a contemporary feeling palate for the main cottage choice though?
Grey render with sage green paintwork on the windows and doors etc

I was also thinking a sage green would blend the cottage in beautifully.
I am throwing in a third color. I love the warm color of the stones that are brown. Take it as you will.
Love the sage green idea.
Omgosh I laughed so hard with the kinked hose. The look on your face when you sprayed the camera.... I laughed out loud! I have a hose like that. It has a mind of its own! I am so glad you guys are sharing your life with us. I get so much joy out of your videos!
I personally would stay classic. White walls black trim
Concur that gray is good with sage green as an accent color. That being said, whatever you all decide is okay. Love the ponies and so enjoying following your adventure in renovating your cottage! 😊
Colourwise, I think a Sage green would look stunning against the stone on the cottage.
😂😂 Should have watched more before I posted that comment. Your daughter has impeccable taste 😂
Agreed - sage or muted green. Peaceful and looks great with gray!
👍
Your daughter's color suggestions is a real cool color .
I agree. Ivory & Sage.
Sage green and creamy white would be great accent colors outside.
Looks like a whole new house after the sandblasting!
I like white/cream and sage for the trim. There’s grey in the stone so everyone could get their color. The cream and sage will soften it. All grey will feel dreary and cold.
Girls colour camp rules!! Sage green with white would look beautiful!! ❤
Cream or white would really bring out the lovely colours in the stone
If you'll note, the stones are not just gray. There are also shades of brown, which blends into the countryside without being so somber as plain gray. I would find a nice shade of "brown." Nice - thank you.
Wow!! I never realized what a difference sand blasting can make!!! It is all so fabulous!!
Right!
It would be nice if you showed a bit more of your renovation. I do enjoy the banter between you guys.
Sage green would probably blend in with your surroundings.
Thanks for sharing. Take care and stay safe.😊
Team Kayvan here. Keep it neutral so that the stone is the focus
100%
I see a dark slate blue/grey. Its opposite on the color wheel for the burnt orangeish stone and similar to the grey stones. The white around the windows would pop.
I love the white and sage color combo … totally loving the stone wall in the bedroom…
The current turquoise paint, change it to sage green or forest green? The gray exterior wall, painting it gray may help in the future, that you will not have to repaint all the time, when paint popps off! Best of LUCK!
Love the green and white, very classic!
Yes. Every time I use my hose it kinks. I vote for Sage green or olive green.
My first idea was a light greenish grey, yes, sage green not being too green.
Charcoal windows might give a nice contrast , with off-white walls
A green similar to F&B’s Card Room Green for the large areas and a gorgeous iron black for the accents like your window sills, facia boards under your gutters, and rooflines would look so handsome and clean as well as coordinate with the surrounding landscape.
Black or very dark grey. Cool modern twist for the win!
+1 on that, definitely go darker to emphasise the stonework 😊
not personally a fan of dark colours but it does sound very cool.
if it were me i'd do white and light grey for a scandi look and maybe a bit of lemon yellow
I was going to say a light Sage Green would really compliment the stone before your comments made that your daughter said Sage Green! Great vlogs by the way, I really enjoy you laughter and positivity 😊

Im with the kiddo, sage green is a beautiful warm colour
I actually like the gray, but perhaps with a cream or beige undertone, then a slightly dark sage green for the trim. (I did a search for Irish house colors, and Holy Cow! I'm still seeing spots in my eyes!)
Team Kayvan for sure. A darker tone of one of the lighter stone colors in the outside walls.
Magnolia and white trim is always attractive, watch those chickens with the cold snap coming, foxes can be very determined. Well done on all the work. Adrian.
Personally I prefer black or very dark forest green. It looks gorgeous in a natural environment and shows of the stone work. But you do you 😊
You make me smile and chuckle. Well, if you needed sand for your garden, you sure got some now. Chuckle. Sage green seems like it would be nice. It already looks so much better without the pink!!😊
I like the idea of a sage green going with mother Earth, but also a darker color like a top or a light brown will make the gray or the light gray of the rocks pop out

Sage and white maybe 🤔 ❤🎉

Once the hose kinks, you have to cut it and repair it at the kinks.
Sage green with off white windows en charcoal windowsills😊
A pony and trap is very Irish, and you already have the ponies - so Hillary, here you go!
I would go for a sage green or mossy green with soft yellow accent. Or alternatively for the trim...pick the colour of your favorite wild flower in the field and go for it. It would definitely be a part of your property.

music at the begining during the sand blasting reminds me of an old Bobby Caldwell album.

So much fun watching your progress. You’re doing an amazing job, it will be gorgeous when finished!
I would go with white and sage green
Yes the green and cream would pop that’s would be great. Poor thing I hope it rains. That little vacuum will burn out. Glad the pink is gone but it did leave a big mess.
Blessings and hugs ❤️🙏🏻❤️
Thank you
I agree the white, your sweater was looking nice with stone behind you. Maybe a darker gray on the bottom would show less dirt. With accent color of blue gray or a butter creamy yellow.
Colors. The stone is beautiful. Look at different great tones maybe one darker.
Colors- I always love a bit of a story behind color choices. Maybe trim or combo that picks up your business brand colors? Daughter’s birthstone color? She’ll be off to uni before you know it and it’s lovely to have reminders!
I have to go with a pale/sage green,it's a favourite colour of mine😊...maybe white window sills, but I'm sure your get it right when the time comes. 😊
Charcoal gray with white trim would look nice.
Sage green would be lovely and will compliment you're farm and countryside good luck guys xx
TY
Cream and brown like stained wood on trim. Sage green is good too
Thank you
Black or dark charcoal grey with wood stain or brown trim.
YELLOW. BUT THE RIDGE CAP ON THE ROOF IS STILL SALMON, SO YOU'LL HAVE TO PAINT THAT, BUT I SUGGEST THAT BE THE ROOF COLOR.
I love your daughter’s idea of the sage green. I do think hints of a cream colored accent would be beautiful. I think the white is just too stark. The grey is nice but I agree that it is very drab. Love the videos and following along with your adventure.
Shades of green. A sunflower yellow. I like the idea of a pop of color use wild flower colors
My wife and I agree that sage green on the ends and chimney would be great. She says leave the window sills a grey colour and i think a slight off white would be best.
I would leave the windowsills as is without paint, paint on sills always tend to flake.
Well, I must be rare because I absolutely love the turquoise. It's part of the charm. However, if you must paint the color, sage would definitely go beautifully with natures setting. Looking so good you two.
Thank you !
I think a sage green would be lovely.
👍
I’d go for white walls and sage green woodwork, sills etc xx good luck with the dust , you’ll soon be picking curtains and cushions !
No, no, no more grey...too drab. You want your beautiful cottage to be seen, not disappear. Just subtle not garish. Kayvan, your talent is in the building, but please leave the decor to the ladies of the family 😉. I vote for beige or cream with sage green. Shall I text some inspo pics?!😊
i'm a design school graduate and disagree. i prefer the grey idea
When I look at the stone I see some of the stones have a brownish tone. I think a light brown with cream trim would be lovely.
I think baby blue with white trim. That way ur house don't disappear in the landscape with the green.
White would look great in an area which is naturally grey in winter.
Love the progress you’ve made. I love a green, sage, olive or a darker leafy green with a creamy trim. Love your always upbeat outlooks.
Good luck. Blessings. kk
Hey kk, thanks for your lovely comment
Barbara here in San Antonio Texas! Now things are getting exciting for you…. What an amazing transformation after the sanding. Hello Barbara - thanks for the suggestions. We appreciate you following along.
