In this case the suspect wasn't much of a threat to anyone nearby, so the usage firearms to disable the vehicle would have been a pretty big escalation.

As a former Police Academy handcuffing, among other areas, the handcuffs used on the female were correct. However, women have very tiny wrists and can slip out of them when their hands get sweaty. Chained link cuffs shall always be used, unfortunately in this case the cuffs were not tighten enough. If any police officers is watching, you must carry a pair of chain liked cuffs in your cruiser or in your double handcuff pouch. If you need to carry two hinged handcuffs on you, put two chained link cuffs on your spotlight handle.
