    I actually got to shake hes hand and hear his story from him it was an honor to know him and it was a sad day in st.maries id when he pasted

    He retired from the Army in 1968 as a First Lieutenant. He should have been at least a Major by then.

    “Commonplace at the time was to place black regiments under white officers” while crap talk about a tough command, good luck convincing everyone your not racist.
    Side note, my grandfather and Mr Baker we’re neighbors and good friends and I got to attend his wedding when I was 16 and got to shake his hand and it was awesome. This was after I had already read a book about him so coolest thing ever
