    Jon.. all I gotta say is God leading me to your videos is a blessing. I often wish people would approach Jesus and the word with Joy and a light heartededness that the son (in my humble opinion) of that he seemed fond of. I come across too many that make it feel as if it's a burden of sorrow and not something to just be happy and all smiles and giggles about!! Not drawing away from the seriousness but observing it as a treasure to celebrate and share ! I'd be stoked if you did one on Nehemiah! (if you already have , I apologize. Its not that I don't want to take the time to search .. its just you're a relatively new add to my 'following' list.. and well. . It's easier to suggest then to go looking, get distracted as I often am, and forget to comment all together on such a technicality..) lol God Bless you brother

    A question I have:
    -When reading the Bible, what are some key things to look out for in verses which will give some context and understanding into the message God is communicating through them?
    (this is something I have been loving in watching these Bible study videos. There are so many little details that you pick up on that I would never have noticed before. It genuinely makes it fun to read the Bible! I'd just love to know how to go about studying Bible verses in depth as you do, in my own time)
    The book I'd love to study in the next series:
    -Jeremiah

    Hi Jon! I'm Damaris from Italy and I wanted to ask you how do you get through the Old Testament law books? I have an year-long plan for reading the Scriptures but when I get to books where everything is about old laws given by God for the Israelites I just get bored and I wish I could find a way to understand it better and find it interesting. God bless you

  • @catherinethompson6531

    I do not understand Matthew 5:17 when Jesus says “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them." Many people say that because of Jesus, we do not need to obey the crazy rules in the old testament like wearing clothing with different threads and cutting your beard in a certain way. So what does Jesus mean when he came to "Fulfill" them? And how do we know we don't need to follow these rules?

    • @rainygyal6771
      @rainygyal6771 8 лет назад +4

      I struggle with that verse too. I might be wrong but I think that when Jesus said that he came to fulfill the law he meant that he is what we people were supposed to be. He is like the realization of what a person would be if he could obey all the laws. I hope this might be helpful. stay blessed

      Thank you for your thoughts on this, it definitely helped! (:

    • @ChrisvanderMerwe_cw3
      @ChrisvanderMerwe_cw3 8 лет назад +2

      It means that Jesus didn't come to do away with the law, like Paul said the law is still our schoolteacher until we meet Jesus showing us what is right and wrong, and it still applies fully to those who are not in Christ. However Jesus came to completely fulfill the righteous requirements of the law so we would not have to, because none of us are able to keep the law in it's entirety. Jesus satisfied the need for sacrifices by His own sacrifice and paid the penalty for our sin in full. He also did away with the levitical law and dead rituals and adopted us into his own family, but the rest of law still stands and is still a guide on how to live, but not a requirement for salvation. And the whole law was summarized and superseded by the Royal law of loving God and your neighbors.

If you don't for whatever reason if you know of a good study guide for Proverbs I would really appreciate it if you sent it to me, thanks

    How about acts. It is the first book written after Jesus went to be with God. In acts the apostles still do amazing acts of wonder and it also shows that God gives everyone a chance. The apostles went to a couple of different towns with different believes. Some were convinced and some denied Jesus. I think it would be a good bible study.

    Do you have any tips on how to bring someone who used to be a Christian, but is no longer one, back to Christ? Sorry, I know it's a loaded question. Basically, this person had something terrible happen to someone they love and they don't believe God exists anymore because of it. How can I help them to understand God IS real and He IS loving and hates it when we hurt?

    • @aisosaegharevba7080
      @aisosaegharevba7080 8 лет назад +5

      I love it when people ask this question because I used to ask myself this all the time when the whole time the answer was simply LOOK TO JESUS, HE IS THE AUTHOR AND FINISHER OF YOUR FAITH. It's easy to get DISTRACTED by noticing that the world hates the message of Christ but truth be told that should not be where your focus lies, you ask how because you don't have the answer to why. We are meant to preach Christ because God has called us to NO OTHER REASON. It doesn't matter if 20 or 0 listen in a day, it is a COMMAND by God that assures you of your obedience and submissiveness to the Father and a confirmation of your Faith in the Son. It is not easy to preach Christ, I know, I'm in that position right now but the moment you take your mind off how and unto why that's the moment your faith causes you to do things for Christ you never thought possible. Have a blessed day 😊🙏🏿.
