Arc Lash + Lucion + Shard of Verathiel is COOKING (JK one bug) | Diablo 4 Season 5 PTR

Turns out the reason I dropped paingorgers for storm swell was because storm swell is bugged and granted an extra 1.3x damage when used with ice armor. Thats why it felt so much better. the math works out to basically you can just pretend I have a 300% sword instead of a 180%, so my testing is still legit)
My sword is 180%, if it was 300% you would be seeing 40-50 Million damage swipes. We are seeing 20-30M damage swipes with the 180% roll (missing 42% total damage vs the 300% roll).
I hope they don't nerf Crown of Lucion and the Verathial Sword. This build is not utilizing the Lucion + Axial pants combo bug with Chain Lightning that can deal a Quadrillion Damage. This is just pure Arc Lash Damage. We have actual damage for once, that is semi on par with barb damage. It feels amazing to have a real build. You can also run this with Spark, it will just be worse on bosses because it doesn't have the 50% flickering node Arc Lash does.
If nothing changes, this is the build to run in S5. Just works. No boss fishing. No shatter cheese. Just dealing damage and moving fast. For Max boss damage setup, you would use Esu boots with Ice Blade and Firebolt Enchant with flame feeder and dev blaze + conj mastery. I just felt TP enchant was a better mobbing experience, and wasn't having issues with Boss damage.
This is the first Sorc build we have ever had that has better boss damage than it does mob damage, thanks to the changes to flickering arc lash granting 50% damage to bosses.
Pits feel very bad right now, the density is off, the amount of progress you get per elite feels off, boss health is wonky.

Both need their %'s cut by a minimum of half. Lucion should only work with CORE skills or NON basic if they want to try and make ults relevant.
Saying things like “Damage as good as a barb” means it’s going to get nerfed. Blizzard hates us.
this isn't really in the same ballpark as barb damage, I think he was being facetious. Decently geared andariels rogues do like 300-400m a tick and they are live right now...and they aren't doing barb damage. Just shows how truly abysmal of a state sorc is in rn
They can't nerf this build without nerfing Barb as well because Barb uses the same items ;)
It’s not barb damage. It was more out of sarcasm. But it’s approaching somewhat respectable damage if we can slap around for 50M hits.
@@Onabosslikeaboati play andy rogue and i get around 1B a tick if the boss is tanky enough to last it but on normal bosses (pit 101) its an avrg of 400M, my god this puncture rogue is strong asf and verry fun
@@bubblegumpop078 I swapped from sorc to andy rogue, and yeah it's extremely strong. I honestly never get to focus on damage numbers in pits above 125, but yeah when im farming 101 i see 400-450m ticks
The sad thing is that this is still not even close to whirlwind walking through in 70 seconds.

Thanks for being the Sorc whisperer, lol. Glad you know the mechanics as well as you do, to be able to come up with somethig. The only thing that's a downer is Arc Lash was the build for S3, for Gauntlet runs, and that's all I used. At least this Arc Lash is on steroids, lol.

Duuude. I' ve been waiting for this build since Ive seen the sword. Posting on reddit and comenting on sorcs streams and youtube to see if someone would test it (i play ps5 unfortunately). Thank you! I knew this sword would be cool with arc lash and it seemed like the most promising build to me

My biggest question would be: how did you get these two items (Helmet and Sword). I just can't farm them.
The second thing is that they will nerf it to the ground so you play Barblo IV or you don't play at all.
I theory-cooked a very similar build but with a couple of changes.
1. FireBolt and FrostBolt Enchantments (so we apply bur and chill) and we have a ton of multiplicative damage to Burning/Chilled/Crowd-Controled
2. Tyrael's Might chest - to DR, Max Resistances, and some extra damage with every swing
3. Using this new Wildbolt Aspect (but don't know if it is working) - "Every 2s you pull in distant enemies" - so no need to use Teleport enchant and Raiment.
What do you think?
1. I need to play around with arc lash more. I really don’t want firebolt over tp enchant its way more damage, I just needed the enemy grouping. Not frostbolt, I don’t spec into crowd control damage in this game. Bosses exist.

@@Lurkin17 1. Yes, bosses exist but with ArcLash you stagger them quite quickly.
2. Sad news but in terms of DR it looks really good.
3. Yeah, it all depends on how good this works. If similar to Raiment's teleport pull then all should be fine.
4. They will nerf everything outside Barb - as always.

Stuck w/ Rainment not being able to attack enemies; bug since open beta (not Rainment specific, just makes it easier to repro). Have never seen them acknowledge it.

Well if it really did the second part of the effect to increase resource cost, it should be mana draining enough to balance it otherwise it will be nerfed because it is too OP for basic skills
You can filter out different damage types in settings now

Nice build. I have not found most of the gear to make it work. In fact none of the uniques so far. I have the pants that they give you. Kind of makes me feel ill that we have to hit for 32 million damage to be decent now. Hail the almighty power creep.
the new pants arent very good. the damage value is too low. they are bugged right now and only good with lucion helm
New helm > Dmg will probably go down to like half and core skills could get buffed in return

Does the new sword and the new basic attack aspect make it so it cost 100mana per basic attack? (25mana x4 with aspect?)
Sorry I meant 25mana + the 25% increase? Not x4 or doesn’t effect the basic skills 25 resource cost
i have no idea how the mana works with it. I just know i am keeping up with my mana in the PTR. will evaluate live

@AlanAshes I would say that it's not barb broken but blizzard clearly has a favoritism and when any of the other classes is able to compete in end game activities they get nerf to underperformed and not surpass the barbs performance.
So far barb has been top every season, it's ridiculous that my barb can fortity in 1 hit for vastly more than the entirety of my sorceress HP pool , yet sorceress is stuck using only 2 enchantments same shit firebolt enchantment, boss damage trash and barriers get depleted in split second forcing sorceress players to strife for only one build with perfect roll gear to get perma flame shield so they won't die .
We can all say blizzard does not play sorceress or blizzard team is stupid. Sorceress needs needs buff, needs 1 or 2 extra enchantment slot and extra ring slot to make it balanced with barb performance, same with druid , they can let druid put aspects on back throphys or put two aspects on two handed weapons for druid or something

they are great items. the issue is barb can use them and just increase their damage the same as us and deal way more
does helmet -75% +125% mana cost make your 25mana basic cost ~15?
i have no idea what the helmet does with the mana exactly, all i know is the mana feels good so its fine

pure LS? doesn't exist. you would run ball lightning with critical strike damage tempers, LS and ice blade enchant and take splintering
@@Lurkin17 yeah ur right, just cooked something up, slightly different using hectic and oe with spark spawning CE. it actually works pretty good. even using the no def multi. Testing was very positive. Watch the baskenator(german dude if u cant follow it, hes hitting for 20m with aspect procc, and its not even close to optimized) youtube video, seems we really underestimated the aspect. and that is probably even better then Lash, since u can play it completely ranged. ruclips.net/video/OkoWgGQDmLo/видео.html
I'm running it with the new amulet for the crit and crit damage since I'm never below 50%
I have not gotten a good amulet so I haven’t been using it. I want the conj mastery ranks and UC temper anyway
I think its funny how they said they wanted to make less must use items and then cooked up the Lucion helm... like what build isnt going to try to squeeze that in. Same with the 1h sword for a lot of builds (ofc the Druid basic attack build will never compete). These items have way too much power on them.

they will nerf the helmet and pants combo for sorc but i think they will let it go with some major increase just not that much
Lurkin, not sure you're aware but now in the PTR version... Under Options you can select the type of dmg numbers you want to see... You can literally just select crit dmg and overpower dmg 😊

Hi mate my main concern are uniques having wide aspect range rolls like 100%-300%. I've never seen something like it in any ARPG I don't understand philosophy behind it and it makes no sens since GA's were introduced. So now when unique drops there will be zero dopamine no excitement because there is a big chance for shitty rolls. What makes H&S great is the fact that you are having chance for upgrade all the time any time u roll the dice and just imagine u already have this sword with 300% aspect on it and when you drop same item with 3 GA's with the lowest possible roll how that will make u feel... It's just insane how much rng there will be to get an upgrade.

I don't expect the pants/Lucion bug combo to make it into the game. the combo would work in the PTR tho. but without the bug you don't want the axial pants. you want arc lash rank pants. Axial has a value of 22,000 to proc, it's literally a single second of an andariels proc. they are garbage

No rasha. No 4 elements. Starless is 50%, needed the crit chance from starless. Needed crit chance and attack speed from legendary ring with adaptability. Didn’t need the cooldown reduction so Tal Rasha got booted

No bugs is a bold claim 😅. The helm itself has at least one bug with the resource scaling and the sword is just a mess as well 🙈
Well damage bugs is my concern. I’ll always solve mana through conj mastery so that’s irrelevant. The damage checks out ish

Yeah the quadrillion damage makes it certain the helmet is gonna be nerfed to the ground.
i mean thats a bugged interaction between axial and lucion. the helmet is just overtuned. not bugged. that interaction is the bug.
It really is unfortunate that Sorc basically plays as a melee class all the time.

lucion doesn't seem bugged. its just overtuned. its bugged with AXIAL pants. thats the bug. the two together. i dont have the pants on

you can turnoff the basic numbers and just show crit have a look into settings

seems like this will be s5 only viable sorc build, i dont get blizzards fetish with basic attacks, all these basic attack x%s in the hundreds make other builds meaningless in comparison, it just doesnt fit sorc thematically

Um it’s not bugged to my knowledge besides the interaction between axial and lucion. I am not wearing axials. It’s overtuned. I normally hit for 2-3M with arc lash. Now I have 50% starless. 4.5M. 125% helm. 10M. Then 180% sword. 28M. Math checks out chief. That’s not bugged. It’s highly tuned
