It doesn't reflect poorly on you if you find this funny. Death is a part of life, just like every other, and i doubt your grandparents would want you to go through your life clinging to sadness of their passing and denying yourself the opportunity to laugh.

At work one day (in a hospital) I made a joke to an older woman about her husband, carelessly assuming she had one. She said "My husband's been dead for ten years." There was an awkward moment of silence from me as I processed the fact that I'd probably said a really wrong thing. Then she exclaimed loudly and joyfully: "YES !!!" and proceeded to tell me how much she enjoyed her freedom and her life and not having to be married anymore. I had an education that day!

It often just means they stayed together due to church/society pressure, financial need, or the desire to be viewed as a "successful" couple based on staying married despite the relationship being a complete disaster behind closed doors.

He was going to die no matter what as surely as rich and charming Mr Big was going to swoop in at the last possible second to marry New York City's most ridden least loyal bicycle long after that horses fertility window slammed closed on it's elongated face.

The original post I made is a meme joke, not a serious complaint by me, since 1) it's just a movie and 2) I've worked in entertainment and know a bit about how the sausage was made.

Long lasting relationships are pretty cool though.
Marriage is a woman's gift. It's a way to lock down a man "forever" so to speak or atleast get him to be more committed stay with her. In terms of nature monogamy is really unnatural and overrated with humans as well it's so unnatural to be with a single person.

Apparently Louis CK doesn't know about the MORMONS. The Book of Mormon teaches that families are united forever in Heaven; it's a very important part of their doctrine. Christians and Jews also believe-according to scripture-that they will be reunited in Heaven with their loved ones....which includes family.
Families and acquaintances may recognize each other (David and his dead son, the rich man and Lazarus, which is only a parable) but Jesus specifically teaches that there is no marriage in heaven (Luke 20:34-36).
