Disagree 100%. The flipping of the head and marker lights makes for a much clumsier dopey looking front end. This is a step backward in design in my opinion. Not sure why they had to fix what wasn't broken.
I love the new female voiceover although, this is just for nostalgic reasons, I'll miss the male voiceover only because I remember hearing them on the C-3s when I was a kid.
Nope... Same propulsion as the M8, yes. But the Silverliner V was built by Rotem and I'm pretty sure it uses a different model of misubishi propulsion than the one used on the M8 and M9.
@@FanRailer I would like to apologize. By 'both', I meant the M-8 and M-9. Although I didn't know that Rotem made the Silverliners. Thanks for letting me know.
I don’t really like that horn on that m9 they do look nice to be honest but it’s a dame that they are retiring the old budds me myself having an ex M3 Leslie RS2M is a great thing to have, I have multiple parts for it sounds great have it mounted to my truck and I only use it for run byes and to tell people to get out of my way!
The front of the train just looks more appealing. I can't wait to see these really start rolling out. But for sure gonna miss the M3's.

M3's aren't going anywhere for the foreseeable future. I'd be surprised if they were gone before 2025.
New m9 horn still *BEAUTIFUL*

Dream Journal Projects that is something I will miss as well
I've only ridden the LIRR a few times (i don't live in NY) and I liked the ones on the M7s. I think they should have stuck with the same voice overs
2 questions how do you find out wen the tests are and do they do them during wekinds and if they do then wen thx
The M9s look amazing. Hopefully we will see the yellow one soon. We also have a new voice for the announcements.
None of them are coming in yellow.
Well that kinda sucks...but again it’s Cuomo.
Exciting video!! Thanks for sharing.
Awesome catch!
The propulsions of the M9 sounds identical to the WMATA 7000 series
RIGHT!
Gotta admit that K2H sounds better than the RS2M
Captain Transit LMAO K2
I think it has the same propulsion as the M8 and Silverliner V
Both are from Kawasaki.

@@FanRailer They sound very similar, though, and the V's also use Mitsubishi traction motors and inverters

Does anyone see that the trucks look a little bit similar to the R179
They do, but they're manufactured by Kawasaki Heavy Industries, not Bombardier Transportation
Maybe the third rail mounts
No.
Are you sure?
Wait Wait Wait Wait Wait, does the M9 train sounds to the R179? Yes or No?
Comment down the loan fan railer can you try to ride on the M9 train
How do you know the test schedule and what is it? Thanks in advance!
read the description
I see! I want to catch them, but I’m kinda far from the KO Branch. Is Pinelawn still a good place for railfanning?
It Will Replace M3s Right
Kirby Goes Vlogs And More yeah

looks like someone is flipping the bird at you at 2:03 lol.
lol he's probably just holding something.
HOW can there be flat spots on trains that haven't even entered revenue service? I think those are flat spots I'm hearing!
It sounds like a LIRR version of the R179
But way different
Yay the m3’s will stay in service because there are not enough m7’s and m9’s
The propulsion almost sounds like the M8
Etho Smith, that’s because they both have Mitsubishi Electric AC Traction motors
2:30 oops
Damn, they already have flat spots on the wheels
How can you tell?
... you can hear it
@@FanRailer Thanks for the info, I didnt notice it before.
Typical for LIRR track......
M9s my train
You don't have any idea who the new announcers name is do you ? Lol
It doesn't sound like R179 train.
I really hope they arent going with that new announcement program...
